so i’ve been on a royal carribean cruise and became friends with a lot of the staff and basically. for every section of the ship, the crew members are from different countries. let’s say everyone in the dining room is from india and everyone working the starbucks is from the philippians. and people from jamaica running the beauty salon on the ship. these people sign on to contracts to be on the ships for months at a time while them and their families get paid. they can choose how long they want their contracts to be

The flooding rooms just make me think mold is going end up under all the floors. My room was flooded during the freak storm in NYC a couple years back. The entire sub floor was moldy. I slept on a mattress in the living room for a hot minute.

Being a Navy Sailor watching this is hilarious, 300+ of us all share 4 washers and dryers and live in a room with 20+ other people in a coffen rack and 1 shower between us dealing with flooding and fires daily. its just funny to watch people complain over little things we deal with on the day, and the wine thing makes me laugh bc we run out of water and get givin one water bottle a day and arent allowed to take showers or do laundry

Your experience is valid but I don't see the point comparing the two realities: you chose to live in very uncomfortable environment and are paid to do that, they paid to go on a long term cruise with luxury prices and are only one month in. I'm trembling like a leaf under two blankets right now because this month I can't afford to put the AC on, yet when I'm on vacation in a nice hotelroom I refuse to be even a grade too hot/cold for my likings; the point is if I'm paying for it you have to provide it. Adaptability is a wonderful resource to have but it's not something you would expect to need to achieve while paying that much for that long.

I am not sure why people are acting like this world cruise is a unique situation. There are long world cruises happening all the time, excluding the pandemic. I think the difference is that the influencers joined and looking for things to go wrong, they are complaining about the tiered system. Loyalty means perks.
