Hershel! ❤ Cyber hugs to Mom and Kim too, this was a rough one! 0:54 right, it's not like _Zombieland_ or _Shaun of the Dead,_ "zombies" aren't a part of the pop culture in this universe so the people don't automatically know things like destroying the brain. Conversely, _Z Nation_ is VERY aware of zombies and has a lot of fun with it.

An important part about there not having been the concept of zombies in this world is not just the name, but the fact that they don't have all the tons of movies we do to reference and therefore think ahead about all the ways to avoid or protect themselves against them. Many of the things we see them do or not do and we say "Oh that was dumb they should have....." but we only think of many of things they should do, or not do, is because "Like in that other zombie movie". The comparison to vampires would be more like not knowing that you need to stake them in the heart, or decapitate them or to always carry a cross and garlic. They don't have all the Romero movies to think of tactics and have to learn it all as they go.

Thing is in the comics they actually do call them zombies every now and again, but it's explained the reason they call them something else is that the characters think Zombie is too ridiculous
