Season 1 walkers climbed fences, ran and picked up rocks and broke glass doors, even frequented familiar locations and carried stuffed animals. It’s a reintroduction 😂

The first time we saw a variant was (I think) the first time we saw Morgan. His wife kept trying to open his front door, which suggested she retained some sort of memory. Another time, in season two of TWD, (possibly saw him again in World Beyond), where the CDC doctor-scientist (blew himself up almost taking out Rick & Co.) was in contact with French scientists trying to find a cure and we saw fast variant walkers in France for the first time.

This "variant" concept is actually not new. It was introduced in the very first episode, Morgan's wife (already a walker) turned the door knob of their house, trying to get in. Some of them in the first season climbed fences, just a few of them... there seems to be more of a trace of the human being they once were in some walkers, than there is in others. And this has been all along, just shown in small and subtle ways. ;)

And back to Season 1 episode 1 and 2 Zombies could already turn doorknobs in the pilot episode and they had memories Think of Morgan’s wife Jenny The little Walker girl at the gas station Rick’s first kill had picked up a stuffed animal And in episode 2 in the department store the Zombies threw stones into the door windows to break through This idea was discarded and now true to the comics brought back In principle this is not a new storyline but simply the course of events Nothing to undo Only something that has the prospect of further development Life goes on even when this series ends just like the comics.

The "new" variant is not new, just not yet experienced by our people up to this point. Zombies climbing, holding stuffed animals, using stones as weapons and turning doorknobs we had everything in the first season. Pilot episode the little girl in the opener held a stuffed animal in her hand. Morgan's wife turned the doorknob, zombies climbed many stairs to get to Merle on the roof. A zombie took a stone in his hand to smash the window in the shopping center. That was all there in season 1. Originally, the zombies should be smarter with residual memories. Morgan's wife still recognized her home. These ideas were short-lived and were discarded. Now they are coming back. If you remember the first season and now they take this step again, this idea is not so bad. But it doesn't show any new variants, but that there have always been these variants, but they were very rare.

The walker is a variant, a type of walker that's different to the rest! In season one, there were quite alot of this. Picking up rocks to smash the glass in the store, they were held out in Atlanta. When Rick got stuck in the tank, walkers could also climb on top of the tank. When Rick, Morgan and dwayne held out in that house when the car alarm when off outside! Morgans wife (now turned) looked at Rick and walked up to the door, she also started twisting the handle of the door. She also looked through the eye hole of the door to look in very intentionally and precisely. So it has happened before, I believe that's the way they wanted the walkers to act like. They changed it from S2 onwards. It's a shame that they have just started bringing it in at this point because it's actually very interesting. Also, remember in the World Beyond finale in the post credit scene with Dr Jenna talking to a woman. The woman is shot and dies, she turns but she ran really fast and bangs on the door which also is another variant. It reminds me of World War Z if you've seen that!

I’m sure they will wrap this show up nicely Some of the Things they are bringing in such as the variant Walkers will continue to be explained in the spin offs coming.

Those new variants are scary this with Fear TWD and TWD World Beyond are gonna bring a new level of terror in the future spin offs and the Rick and Michonne spin off.

I understand that it is hard to see how this show is going to end This wouldn’t be a topic in the past since we always knew there was another Season My Fear is that the end will only be a teaser for the special spin off shows TWD hasn’t let me down so far therefore I’m trusting that they will end on a high note I keep picturing Rick in his final episode in Season 9 walking through everyone dead I’m so nervous to see what is going to happen.

The knife was from when Lydia stabbed the Walker it stuck so she tried to use her stick and he grabbed onto her stick also He’s the same one who climbed up the roof and also the same one who probably climbed the fence and opened the gate for the others.

The variant concept is not new. All the way back in season 1 you have already seen walkers climb fences, picking up rocks, breaking windows and even trying to turn door knobs (Jenny Jones, Morgan's wife ;). It is only until now when they re-introduce them and showcase them.

This show doesn’t make any dam sense . Remember we first saw the walkers climb and pick stuff up in season 1 of the main walking dead show at Morgan’s house with his dead zombie wife trying to turn that door knob when rick first met Morgan and his son . Also when rick was in Atlanta and he first met Glenn . That was when we saw walkers doing all that shit but then the show stopped having walkers do all that after season 1 and waited until the very end of season 11 to start doing it again
