This is a variation of "A Return to Compassion", a cue first used in Season 3 and later in Seasons 5, 7 and 8. Only certain sections of the full piece were ever used and it's only now in the final episode that we're getting to hear some of the unused sections for the first (and last) time.

This is the theme that's stuck with me since I watched the episode. Perfect theme to close the journey. You can hear the 12 years in it but also the seed of a new beginning that's coming in the next phase of the TWD Universe. What comes after will be exciting as well (see what I did there?).

TWD is over... some great seasons, some not so great, but something kept me watching. What a ride it has been!

the episode itself was beautiful, but the ending felt.. bittersweet. some characters got what they wanted, got what they needed. and some still have some unresolved business. what hurts the most is the fact that judith and rj lost, once again, a parental figure. this, coupled with rositas death and not seeing pamela pay for her crimes the proper way, the way she wanted eugene to pay for his supposed crime, is what makes the ending so bittersweet. doesnt change the fact im gonna miss this show so, so badly.

You know hearing this from the moment you watched the show from the very beginning to the moment it ended hits differently

This melody started in Episode 511 at the end of that episode, and then it returns in 809. I have always thought that this melody would be used for the final episode years ago. 1124 has a lot of 816 opening+ 809 "Carl's Visions", it fits since Episode 816 was the series finale for Chapter 1 of TWD.

Like our lives, it has its ups and downs. It was such an emotional part of my life. We will never forget and remember to all.

I can't help but get emotional whenever I hear this score and think of its accompanying visuals. One of the loveliest pieces from Bear and Sam. Lush and bright and hopeful. I didn't love everything from the series finale but this track certainly burrowed its way into my heart and bones. TWD deserved nothing less as a sendoff. Thank you @b.claimed for capturing all these tracks so that we can relive the show now that it's over. What a ride to go on with you. 💙👏🏻🙏🏻

Such a perfect piece to end everything in the New World with. It's uplifting, hopeful, moving and inspiring. It's the piece I've thought about the most since the episode, especially the choral bit when Daryl's riding away.

Admittedly, I wasn't always completely satisfied with the course of the show. But the ending, especially with this music, was just wonderful. I don't regret making it to the end. On the contrary.... ❤
