As The Warning will often say....SOON! They test drove a couple new songs (not yet released) at their Mexico show last fall. They are fantastic. Patience. BREATHE is one of the few songs I have ever heard, that when i first heard it, I stopped dead in my tracks listening until it was done. Tears. I have taken the "Is it so wrong, wrong to want to be alright" line to be permission for us to feel OK about not feeling OK. That pulling down feeling might be OK for right now, giving us a chance to regroup and recover. Could this be the meaning Pau intended? I don't know. But that is what I take from it. I was in the choir of 8000 in Mexico City this past October when Pau played this for all of us live on the piano. Not a single person in the crowd made it fully through the song, including Pau. I was a wreck. So were the 50+ and 60+ year old rockers I was sharing the sound board rail with. Perhaps the most emotional performance that affected artist and audience I have ever seen.

Pau often uses questioning, doubt-revealing lyrics in her songs. "Is it so wrong, wrong to want to be alright?" in "Breathe." "Is it wrong?" in "23". And the overall theme to be okay with negative emotions is stressed in "Choke" on the same album - "Wear your tears like jewelry" and "Let me drown." Excellent, poetic lyricist who finds unique ways to express thoughts we all have.

I don't need to know what it's really about. It's the first time I've heard words that accurately describe what depression feels like to me. I sobbed for an hour when I heard it for the first time. Pau is a precious gift to the world. I love her as I would a sister.

The dark desperation in the lyrics accompanied by melancholic chord progression gets me everytime. Add to that Pau's unique ability to emote through her raspy voice. Just read the 2nd verse "I try to reach over the endless waves Can't call for help, so I'll just call my name But not even I can hear I'll just disappear without a trace" In literature I have never come across someone so bereft of hope, so desperate & desolate that she has to call her own name because she knows there is no one around to help her as she fades into oblivion slowly. How dark is that? At Pepsi Center, Mexico City, on 28.10.2023, Pau broke down when 8000+ fans joined her to sing Breathe. This was the 1st time, possibly the last time, she sang this emotional song.

Excuse for giving feedback in Spanish.

I was just playing along to the piano tutorial for this song for the first time tonight. I just find it funny that every time I see the 3 of them they look happy - but when I watch the lyric videos they are deeply sad. I also found lyrics for their new songs Hell You Call A Dream and Sick are also very powerful, deep, and emotional making me feel a strong connection to the songs. But then I see how much of a good time they are having on stage and in life which brings me happiness unlike any band has done before..

Pau often takes inspiration of almost everything, like one short scene of Ratatouille, a book, a manga or the news in the TV, but this particular song is the only based in a personal experience (maybe a friend with a terminal disease) and thats the reason she dont want to play it live.

😊She had said in tidal rising documentary the ideas for sings are pulled from the world. So not necessarily a personal experience. But something others go through and it makes the songs relatable to those in the particular circumstances.
