so sweet to notice how Pau has matured in her playing. At Ted Talk she was wild, massive movements and now she's matured, so much more energy conservative and precise. I can't imagine how fantastic it must feel to have an audience join your band singing your songs so energetically with you..these are great reactions!!

This private gig felt really special since we all were so close to them when they performed and even if I'm a real Pau fan I was totally blown away by Dany's vocals during these two gigs and especially during the acoustic set. It was brave by Paulina to let us sing like that due to the median age of the audience being well over 50 years old.

Notice it’s super quiet during the bass outro? If you didn’t know there was an audience, you would think that was a sound check. That’s the first time I’ve heard it that quiet until the final note of Survive.

I feel like if someone doesn't at least bob their head during the outro of Survive, you need to check their pulse. Pau does such a great job with her stage presence but that was very smart of her to let the crowd take over the lyrics at the beginning, and awesome to hear!

One of my favorite parts of this song has always been Als's bass outro, but it usually gets a bit drowned out by the crowd thinking the song is over. Not in this one though, it was dead silent. True The Warning fans in the crowd for sure.

I truly love that they gave London the show they would have done as if the pandemic never happened - pre-Error album and included showcasing a few of the absolutely GREAT songs they already had in their catalog. Unmendable is still one of my absolute favorites. 3 albums in and they already have “classics” at the same time they have unreleased and recorded new songs! Epic and prolific!

I still get a kick outta Dany & Ale's choreo and then Pau and Ale. All of them just having fun. 😝

This is the song that totally hooked me on The Warning. The smile on Dany's face when the audience is singing the intro. I prefer the keyboard intro, but like the guitar replacement. Either way works for me. It is really interesting to me how well their young songs with their young voices hold up so well as their voices have matured. I think that goes to the quality of their songwriting. Or perhaps it is that they have grown into their young songs. Either way, it was good 6 years ago, just as good, or even better, today. I still think that the second half groove in this song is one of the best music moments I have found in the last few years. The drum-bass pocket here is as strong as I have heard anywhere, by anyone. Clearly Beto taught Pau how to combine a lot of different styles to make a very groovy fast shuffle-ish jazzy pattern. And the way she attacks the kit just makes me smile. Every time they they repeat the refrain, they change a little bit of it that keeps you interest, continue to build, make you tap you foot and move around. Nothing flashy, just really good ensemble playing. My favorite The Warning music moment.

I think SURVIVE was the first song the girls started doing choreographed moves on stage. Dany and Ale swinging their guitars in sync. Always fun to see they still use it. And Ale and Pau doing the side to side hair flip together. Sadly, the video didn't show Ale with Pau in this video.

In the 1980's this would surely have had an extended dance mix and may well have wound up #1 on both rock and dance charts. This and Dull Knives are about the only two TW songs I can think of with an extended ending, although "extended" and "Dull Knives" hardly go together. They resisted the temptation to freebirdize or heyjudify (or even worse, iwantyoushessoheavify) the ending, keeping it to reasonable proportions. Still my favorite TW song, that has never been seriously challenged. Martirio tried to take a run at it to preserve honor, but it wasn't really a contest. The one thing I hope is that at some point they start touring with a keyboard again; the piano introduction gave it an interesting Broadway feel before rocking out. The guitar in particular with the palm muting isn't really the right tone; Ale's bass work fits in better. That is not going to come close to changing the ranking, though. Dany's vocal tone isn't simply richer and more complex; it's also more expressive. She didn't do it as hard as she sometimes does, but spitting out "Your words mean NOTHING!" is obviously exactly the correct way to deliver the words. I've always wondered what prompted this song. The lyrics sound like a personal breakup/betrayal song, but that doesn't appear to fit 2016 or thereabouts when it was written. Thinking about it a bit more, the theme is really very much like Unmendable, which is obviously about betrayal (reputedly about a certain record label whose contract offer was different from what they had been led to believe). Is this perhaps a second song about the same occasion that they deliberately wrote in a very different style? That is certainly something I could see them doing, just for the challenge. I believe they said during an interview that they were considering doing a second MV from XXICB, and all of their friends wanted Survive. They decided that that wasn't the best use of their funds, although they did in effect with the video of the the start of the third album (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eMxnl9yhytixYGg.html). Not surprising that this has always been an audience favorite, or that this is one of only two songs from XXICB that they still play. Hopefully this one stays on the set list.

sometimes i wonder if, during these intimate gigs, the girls may try to make the others laugh and goof up... like when Ale got Dani laughing and she had to pull it together before the vocal part... their facial expressions and goofing around is just good clean fun! TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
