Facts. Also, taking in count that Chet is not going to be the superstar of his team and leading it, like Wemby will do, it feels odd. Chet has the talent to be a star/superstar i guess, but SGA, Giddey and Williams seems like they are the future of the team too, at least Chet could be the 2-4 best player in the team. It would be like a TD/Amare rivalry, it was a good rivalry, Amare had one of his best playoffs series agaisnt TD and the Spurs, but Amare was the 2nd best player in the team, sometimes the 3rd. Are you suggesting they're going to get a top tier free agent?
@AaronTats8 ай бұрын
@@RR-in7do no, but they can throw money at what they need the most to solidify their rotation even more. The only real top guy that’s possible is maybe OG Anunoby.
@BOnYTB8 ай бұрын
Not to nitpick, I’m just a cap nerd…but idk about 50M. I mean we’ll see, but if Isaac keeps playing like this I assume they won’t cut him after this season. They’d have like $94M on the books w 10 guys, then you have their 1st round pick cap hold (depends on where the cap lands and their pick obviously, if they’re the 8 seed in the playoffs it’d be 4-5M, pick 8 is more around 7.X mill…and P1 is maybe 12.7-13.X mill) which we’ll use 6M for just to make it an even 100M. So 11 guys around 100M, then you have Fultz. His cap hold is 25.5M. I can’t imagine they pay him 25.5M or more year 1, but if they don’t come to some kinda deal quickly, that hold will eat up a ton of their cap. Also this assumes they let Okeke, Harris, etc walk. I have no clue how much he’ll get paid, I don’t think anyone does. It’ll depend on his health and how he plays this year. With Isaac and their 1st rounder they’d have 42M-45M in space give or take. So it’s really how much Fultz gets Y1 that’ll determine it assuming they do indeed keep Isaac. I mean it’s completely non gtd until January of that season, so it’s likely that they’ll just keep it that way and see if he can maintain a good level of play and health bc they could cut him at any time. It’s possible they agree to a smaller number that’s fully gtd, but I doubt it’d be much smaller. Maybe they end up giving Fultz 3/55 or something with a player option. That’d be 17M Y1, so they’d have 25-28M in cap. A 30% max free agent is projected to be 42.6M Y1. OG turned down 4/117M this summer. He is eligible for the 30% max, though I’d be shocked if he got that much…he didn’t turn down 4/117 to sign for 4/120. So let’s say ORL has 28M in cap to offer Y1, that’d be 4/120.4M. You get my point. They definitely have a lot of flexibility, but assuming they keep Fultz and Isaac they don’t have a mountain of space like HOU did this summer or anything. We’ll see what they do though, love the young core. I’m a UoM fan so I’ve watched a decent amount especially since he got drafted there. Sorry for the ridiculously long post. GL!
@AaronTats8 ай бұрын
@@BOnYTB nah that’s very informative lol! It will be interesting to see what they do with Fultz, but there’s a lot of signs pointing to him not being on the team next season. As for Anunoby, if Orlando does try to pursue him if he’s available, the 4/$120 offer would actually be a lot better than what Toronto offered based on how individuals in Florida retain a lot of their income based on their very low tax rate, unlike Toronto. It will be interesting how things will unfold.

Sure, it’s not something I’d expect titles with, or even really playoff noise now that scary terry is out, but the supporting cast isn’t bad enough that with a superstar they’re still in the same camp as the wizards, pistons, and Simons-less trailblazers.

Even if there's a chance the Warriors are able to rebuild again around Curry, Is it worthy to trade away two of your legends? I mean, is not like they would get Tatum, Luka or Embiid in return, that would be easy to get rid of the Donkey and Mr. Four Fingers. But, that's not gonna happen. Even if they get a good/great trade deal (like 2 stars and bunch of good role players in exchange for Klay, Green, Moody and/or Kuminga), i dont think they could beat Denver, Miami or Boston. Klay is pretty inconsistent and his defense has declined, but he still a good role player that create some kinda of floor spacing, alongside Curry. In the case of Dray, his shenanigans have reached new levels, in this stage of his career he is only a good player in GS and so far i dont think any team would like to have him, because of his behaviour and declining, unless is a rebuilding team, and rebuilding teams dont have "good players" to trade away. Let them retire with grace in GS, the Warriors door to win another ring is almost close, forcing another new scenario in order to win another ring like the Lakers tried to do with Kobe in 2013, is not going to work in every circumstances.

I wonder how Spurs fans felt during the 2000s-2010s with Tim, Tony, and Manu. They either won rings or they were sent packing with only 1 loss in the Finals in 2013. Golden State loses last year in the playoffs, and everybody's going at them to blow the team up. In my opinion, they could've done it in 2019, 2020, or 2021 because the three core players on that team are getting a lot of money while playing with role players. If they blow up now, they're worse than the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Spurs because they do have 5 All-Stars (past and present) on that team, while that Spurs also had 5 All-Stars (past and present). It wouldn't matter if they're out of their prime. Everyone complained about Golden State having an All-Star starting 5 in 2018 when Boogie went there, and the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 Nets having the same amount of All-Stars also when Harden, Blake, and Aldridge being there, even if Harden stayed for a year and a half like Aldridge and Blake did. They don't need to blow anything up. As a matter of fact, every team besides the Nets blew everything up when it looked like there was no future with the team at season's end, besides the Lakers in 2013 because Dwight did a dumb move and said yes and then booked it to Houston. You could say they did in 2020 because the team minus Lebron, AD, Caruso, and Kuzma were still on the team afterward, and everyone either got traded or left, but not the way Dwight did like in 2013.

How come Russel vs. Chamberlain isn't considered the NBA's greatest rivalry? Sure, Bird and Magic helped save the league, but they didn't help build the league like the former did. Just because Chamberlain only beat the Celtics once, it was still the closest thing to a rivalry Russel's Celtics had as nobody else beat them during that legendary run.
@T.H.E.O.R.Y.8 ай бұрын
Them playing the same position *and* playing for 3 of the league's oldest teams that _then_ became rivals is understated. Correct take imo. Draymond's value was mostly defense and then passing and him being a factor at all as a scorer during his peak was a bonus, he's now so bad at scoring he has negative gravity but he's still just as elite of a defender and still a great passer. Klay's value was in how much his shooting made defenders have to pay attention to him constantly and that spacing juiced the Warriors offense + being a high IQ player who fed the flow of the Warriors ball movement system + in his perimeter defense covering for Steph's size limitations on defense. Now Klay's shot selection actually ruins possessions for the Warriors. If you got Steph some help, what Draymond can still offer is still useful even if much less than at his peak. If Klay doesnt change back his play style to reflect his current level and take a step back, what he offers just isnt winning basketball anymore Now Klay takes so many bad shots and bricks them, constantly starts playing hero ball, doesnt give it to the hot hand or make the extra pass and just throws it up, etc... enough that defenses, instead of scrambling to never let it touch his hands, sometimes even prefer to stay close to the hot hand without overhelping and let Klay throw up some horrible shot. That's going from a historically terrifying spacer where defenders would panic to try not let him shoot, to a guy defenses can sometimes just see as worth leaving to stop a better shot. And it's going from a high IQ player who kept the offense whirring to someone who might still have a high IQ but plays like a bonehead with no decision-making skills. And he's no longer a very good defender so he's not making up for how he keeps sabotaging the flow of the Warriors offense with horrible shot selection. Klay being an offensive liability on possessions hurts the team much more than Draymond being one because of their differing jobs I understand it psychologically because he even said right before he first returned from injury that after not being able to shoot for 2 years he was gonna shoot every time he got and prove he was as good as he used to be and he just wont accept that he's not the same physically. And ironically, if he played like he used to on offense which was just keeping the ball moving and no dribble first time shooting instead of overextending into hero ball stuff, he'd still be an offensive positive but he's trying so hard to show he's as good as he used to be that he's playing like a much worse player

Bob Myers really screwed Steph over than he ran away when it was time to make the big boy calls. He stupidly drafted Wiseman over LaMelo and now has players like Kuminga. Warriors could still win a title Go to Chicago trade for Vuc and Demar or Lavine. or go to Utah and trade for Clarkson and Lauri. these two trade will make them contenders again. just ship Wiggins/ CP3/Kuminga. If they roll out with a Steph Lavine Klay Dray and Vuc with a bench of Moody GP3 Looney/ Or Steph Clarkson Klay Dray Lauri. They will be contenders and both line up gives Dray top shooters and Kerr could rotate them better.

For some reason I can’t shake the feeling Chet’s going to get the better of wemby career wise when all is said and done

Well, his team is better right now. I think he'll have more team success, but Wemby will be the better individual player.

Wow your last take is bad. KD is begging for money, he's telling people to shut up about their stupid bets. Don't bother KD because you lost money on a KD bet.

That Magic take was obviously from an ORL fan. OKC is in a tougher conference, has a better record, Minnesota has the #1 defense in the NBA and its not close judging off not only DRTG but the eye test as well. ORL's defense has been circumstantially good and will fall off. OKC has a lot of capital in the draft to leap frog and trade to get deeper. To even imply ORL is a better defense that Minnesota is either A.) Extreme personal bias/favoritism or B.) They're outing themselves that they don't watch NBA games.

Lmao, it's definitely arguable. You definitely don't watch Magic ball nor understand stats. Additionally, our DRating takes hits when things like us being up by 40 on the Pacers by the 4th Q and third stringers come in.

Based on what? That hot take about the Magic deserving as much hype as OKC is horseshit. Going along further with Rusty's take: if nothing changed about either team in terms of personnel, the Magic would still be subpar compared to the Thunder, and they're in the East. If you opened it up to changing personnel thru trades, etc., then the Magic would certainly fail to make the right choices like they always have, unlike OKC.

Rusty just doesn’t watch the knicks, he’s so off based on so many of his knicks takes, Brunson is shooting almost 50 from 3 while scoring 24, little less efficient overall but to say he hasn’t been playing well is just wrong
