The watercooled cylinder for a 2-stroke engine is made without castings.

Let us build a 175 cc 2-stroke engine. Part 3: the cylinder. It uses the port dimensions of a Kawasaki H1 500 MachIII from the early 1970s but is designed totally new with a cast iron liner and a watercooled light alloy cylinder barrel. Only a simple lathe and a simple mill are used, no castings, no CNC.

I knew you were old school before you showed your age.Great work ,that workshop is all a proper craftsman needs.l was a Toolmaker for over 50 years,have a home workshop, I'm still enjoying it. Keep yhe faith brother. Paddy. ( UK )

phhhu, lot of Nasty DangerDust here ! i also just finished a Steam engine casting kit and the iron is a real pain in terms of dust and chips ! . Beside that your Builds are Amazing !

Thank you for your response. Yes, machining cast iron is no fun, but there is no better material for cylinder liners.

Nein, keine Angst, die Zugabe kommt in 2 Wochen in der deutschen Cersion dieses Videos.

Use shorter milling cutters, it will improve your finish and stop that squeeling. Anything that sounds like that isn't right. Same on the lathe, pull the cutter in tighter to the toolpost, it will reduce vibration and chatter.
