There was a wave at the Generals game last night. They were up 6-2 with four minutes to go, and they scored the seventh just as the wave came around to the player who shot it. It was magical. This is how you Wave.

Kampf is a defense first forward but he's had some sneaky highlight reel goals. Like the one against Vegas where he dove across the net, or splitting the defense against Nashville. My favourite was his shorthanded breakaway against Vasilevskiy in the playoffs. Maximum passion

The only people using 100 flex in the show are big defencemen that only do slapshots. Most playmakers and guys that rely on wrist shots use flex in the 80s. Max is also on the smaller side as far as NHLers go, so 82 doesn't seem weird to me at all. Edit: I checked and McDavid, best player in the world, is bigger and uses 85 flex lol

Completely agree that the last minute 2nd period goal is always the turning point and the dagger. Canucks vs Avs had the exact same thing happen in that game where the Canucks blew the 3 goal lead. Last second goal making it 3-1 going into the 3rd provides so much life to the trailing team, it completely changes the momentum. I genuinely think the last minute of the 2nd period is one of the most important points in an entire hockey game. Can’t think of another part with that much influence over the next 20 minutes of hockey following it.

I actually agree with Dangle about the wave. Oilers have the EXACT problem. For some reason there is a group of fans that love to start a wave at Roger's Place And they ALWAYS seem to want one late in a game and the Oilers up by only a goal. It more times than not fires up the other side and they make a come back. It's gotten to a point where there is a HUGE faction in the arena and fanbase that hates the wave now lol
@user-il8rc4md6n
@user-il8rc4md6n 2 ай бұрын
Yep. Also I think Steve said elsewhere (and maybe was joking but I think there’s some truth to it) that the league and the refs don’t want blowout games so if they see the home crowd doing the wave they decide to give the opposition a chance to get back in the game (make or miss a penalty call). Obviously bit of a conspiracy theory, but with everything we know about refs and the league I’d believe it’s possible.

Thoughts on trying 11/7 for a few of the remaining regular season games? I might try Domi - Matthews - Marner Bert - Tavares - Jarnkrok Knies - Kampf - McMann Holmberg - Dewar And double shift some of the top guys with Bergy and Dewy. Switch in Reaves for one of those two if protection needed. No idea how it would work out but worth a shot. Then on D Rielly - Lyubushkin Benoit - McCabe Edmundson - Liljegren Brodie - taking the odd shift to give other guys a break/if anyone goes down, have veteran presence on the bench

Finally we can address the hard hitting facts that actually matter! The Wave is in Jesse and Adam's rink on this one. Saying with certainty your team is gonna win before a regulation whistle is "a jinx". Not allowed! Saying the S-word when the opposing team hasn't scored any goals yet. Boo and fart in your general direction! The ACC crowd chanting "nana na na, hey hey hey good bye" Game 7 - 2013. Straight to jail! But the Wave ....it's just good fun.

Losing a 2 goal lead in the last 2 minutes is really bad, but it really hasn’t been common this season. I was more frustrated with the fact that they slowed down so hard with lead… seems like they really needed to keep going forward. Also, let’s not pretend Carolina didn’t do anything. They have a crazy record from the start of 2024.

It definitely feels like a lot of middling teams in the Eastern standings, from Philly down, are spending a lot of the time playing like they made mid April vacation flight reservations in between spurts of wanting to have some Playoffs action. It sometimes reminds me of the South Park Little League episode, where parents and fans go nuts for their teams to win, while the players hate playing baseball and want to lose. I'm definitely pulling for the Islanders to make it though.

@JesseBlake You are WAY off on stick flex. Almost nobody uses a 100+ flex stick. Auston Matthews uses a CCM Jetspeed FT4 Pro in an 80 flex, P29 (Blade 1). Phil Kessel uses (or at least used to use) a 65 flex stick...and even crazier, Johnny Gaudreau uses a 55 flex.

RD's that are up and target fodder for the Senators: Tanev (34), Pesce (29), Montour (30), Schultz (33), Matt Roy (29) and DeMelo (31).
