I used to truck in the 80's and early 90's. I was owner/operator leased to Trailer Express and we hauled EMPTY trailers. My motto was...."Why haul something for nothing when you can haul nothing for something." I had a nice 79 KW K100 Aerodyne Cabover with a 8V92 TA 435 Detroit and 13 Spd trans. I loved seeing that International CO in your video. Loved the short wheelbase for maneuvering into shipping docks. Drive safe

I'm an owner op pulling dry van in Indiana. I do some hopper bottom work for a farmer friend, so far that's been my favorite to deal with. MOST people at these grain elevators still give off the old school "vibe" which I appreciate and enjoy far more than the shitty attitude I get at most warehouses. So working on getting my 379 back on the road and maybe a nice shiny hopper.

He thought you had a dump valve on back axle and was dumping air off of it to make your weight go down is what he thought and it happens more than you think with a spread axle trailer

I know what you mean backing into a easy loading dock ain't takes forever seems to be the hardest to get straight into it. I've done it also. lol. One time I was on the phone talking to bout 3 people in a group call we always had one or more on there anyway I was trying to hurry up and get unloaded at paper mill.,, bout an hour later I told my buddys on the phone I'm fixn to go find out why they ain't unloading me!!! . Got out and walking back to the back of the trailer and looked and I was about 15ft from the dock can't tell you how that happened but I never back all the way back after opening the doors. I had to call myself stupid. First time watching your videos. Pretty truck also.

In Canada, a difference of more than 1000Kg on axles in the same group is a fine. I'm not sure if those axles are "in the same group". Love the tractor.

I pull a flatbed out of Tennessee. Our trailers have a dump valve for the suspension on the rear of the spread axle. I forgot to turn the dang dump valve off coming into the Asheville Nc scale. I was way over on one obviously, thankfully he let me turn the dump valve off and let me go when it evened out.

My guess would be the reason they pulled in is they probably wanted to see the weight spread more evenly across both axles your putting alot of weight on one axle when its not necessary, but thats just my guess from my experience pulling spreads

Does the trailer have a height control valve on each axle? Or one only with common pressure on all 4 trailer bags? I’m a truck mechanic, and have seen height valves fight each other more often than not.

Double check your leveling valves because your trailer air should have equaled out a little closer than it did, play around at a shipper or receiver scale and see what you can figure out so you don't get your time wasted with the state boys,,, check with the air ride manufacturer or stop at good trailer shop,,it should be a little more equal no matter how your loaded,, have a safe trip,, you have a fine lookin hotrod👍👍🚛🚛💨💨

Without reading all the comments, the scale may have thought you were dumping air to take weight off. It's an old trick we used to do all the time. Probably why alot of states started putting in platform scales to weigh the whole truck

I waited in line at a Oklahoma scale for 20 min to scale, damn line was over a half a mile long, I was heavy but legal weight. Most of the scales that don't have signs telling you to bypass or pull in can't tell who actually got the bypass or who is running it. Most states with scales open at night don't have anybody to chase after ya, especially Florida

I have had ohio look me over for that same thing. But i had a dump axle that i could scale 95k at less than 80 if they weighed single axle at a time. Never caught me for it but had to put big propane tanks in finally to hide the air blowing off…. They figured it out later 😂

I've never weighed each axle but all the air bags are plumed in a loop off thr same leveling valve I would think each axle should be close to each other .

No, 100% when a dock is challenging just because of the way the building is built you know maybe it was built before trailers got to 53 feet or whatever the case may be that’s fine I’ll accept the challenge. But when you got the warehouse putting shit in places, that just makes it more of a challenge than is necessary that’s just annoying.
