Today, Aldi is one of the most popular grocery stores in the world, with over 10,000 grocery stores in 20 different countries. The popular discount supermarket chain that is taking America by storm has come a long way since being founded in 1946.
The founders of Aldi, Theo and Karl Albrecht, were obsessed with saving money, and in order to avoid paying expensive overheads, they built their company gradually, concentrating on developing a chain of small supermarkets.

American founded and run Wal Mart. Aldi does a lot of economic damage to the value of our dollar sending all profits to German banks. I got a good laugh at this.

Aldi is one of my favourite places to shop. I do not buy all my food there but a significant amount comes from Aldi. I am really lucky that the newest Aldi market is within walking distance of my home.

I don't work in a grocery store. I do like the fact that they give you a chair to sit in if you choose as a cashier. They also don't seem to just hire anyone who was in. The employees are always moving and not waiting company time.

The first photos shows most probably the Magarethen Höhe a social housing quarter or community in southern Essen build by the Krupp steel giant and arms manufacturer in Essen during the 19th century. It was named after Krupp's wife Margarethe. The Albrecht family lived and had their first shop in the north of Essen, in Essen-Schonnebeck. Adress was Huestrasse 87

So what happened after 1961? Did the stores merge again? Which one expanded internationally?

No they didn‘t merge again. Both expanded internationally, but they allocated the markets so that in one country (besides Germany) there‘s only one ALDI. They don‘t compete each other. ALDI in the USA is run by ALDI Süd (south) but ALDI Nord aquired Trader Joe‘s so they are present in the U.S. as well but with a different store and concept.

Since Karl is the elder brother and cigarettes are bad and are not basic, Karl should be the owner of all of Audi.

So his dad sued the mine and he basically inherited his assets and capitalized on them …..GOT IT. All these “started from nothing “ stories are all 🧢 and the narrative is meant to impress people. No matter who you are if you are successful….YOU GOT HELP FROM SOMEONE… no body does it alone🙄. So don’t feel bad for inheriting or getting help it’s about if you’re skilled enough to maintain and capitalize. Great store ,great story even better prices. Magnetic for young people tryna save money. Top quality. Never had a complaint. Not to mention there’s always good looking people shopping and working there lmfao.💀
