My first exposure to Sonic was Underground. I found it on Netflix when I was little. As a 2009 kid, I have no idea how I found it but I loved it. Don’t get mad at me.

Same! My first exposure to Sonic was when Sonic SAT-M/Sonic Underground was still on Netflix. I played a few of the games before that I think and it was definitely a prime time in my childhood. It's such a shame they removed those shows off of Netflix though. :/

It’s a guilty pleasure. Not the greatest show but good enough for me to give it the courtesy of finishing and occasionally revisit. It should have gotten a proper ending though but that’s probably not gonna happen.

Sonic X was the first thing I remember crying to thanks to that Cosmo’s sacrifice scene and that was when I watched the English version, when I rewatched in the Japanese sub version, that made me to cry to it even more. Tails and Cosmo even say they love each other in the sub version while they say something else in the dub.

Sonic X was actually my very first exposure to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. So back in 2005 when I've first found out that there was a Sonic the Hedgehog video game, I was like: "Sweet! I've always thought that Sonic would be awesome as a video game!" Little did I know that he's been a video game since 1991. (roughly 4 years before I was born)

I remember when I binge-watched all of Sonic X in the summer of 2008. I grew up with Sonic as a child, but in teenage years, I stepped away from it after Sonic Adventure 2 on Sega Dreamcast. Getting ready to join Anime Club at Triton College, by then, I started getting back into Sonic because I was completely head-over-heels for this older-taller girl named Miranda (when it comes to knowing Sonic lore, she's like a Sonic-Goddess). Before joining Anime Club in 2008, I completely binge-watched all of Sonic X to try and catch up on Sonic lore, simply because I wanted to impress Miranda, lol. I guess in terms of Sonic fan status, things worked out; as now Cosmo the Seedrian is one of my top eight favorite characters (along with Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Tails, Amy, Rouge ans Silver). I even finally bought my first Sonic plushy this month; Cosmo the Seedrian (next, trying to get Tails :D ).

sonic underground was my childhood!! i used to watch it all the time, and i recently found some episodes online. brought back a lot of memoriessss! i'm sad they didn't finish it, though :( but i still love it! and i love sonic boom too!! the episodes are hilarious and the animation is awesomeeeeeee

Man you have GOT to finish the show! Season 2 literally follows the stories of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, and season 3 is by far the most emotional, dark, and dramatic story arc of the entire show with an ending that gut punches me every time!

I think the best part is that, in Japan, Sonic is consistently shown to be multi-lingual. So he speaks Japanese primarily, but he occasionally exclaims things in English. Sometimes these are also English curse words. XD

There's a streaming platform called "Tubi" that actually has all the older Sonic cartoons from "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" to "Sonic X" if you wanted to watch it. I have the DVDs personally but it's so much easier to go to my list of shows I like to watch and watch it from there. Especially Sonic X. I grew up with it too and adore it so much.

I somehow watched sonic underground as a child. I wasn’t even born in the 90s. It has a place in my heart as I watched it as a kid, but even then I thought it was weird.

Personal Tier list: 1. Sonic Boom - legitimately hilarious 2. Sonic SatAM - surprisingly good story and tone 3. Sonic X - complete mess with some good qualities (season 3 is great) 4. Sonic Underground - so bad its good 5. Adventures of Sonic - really only good for memes

I used to watch Sonic X religiously on Saturdays as a kid, plus I watched Underground before getting a ride to elementary school. God this video is reminding me of all those early mornings

The fact that you didn't talk about the best part of Underground made me sad (joking) But...yeah. I was kind of the same, but never saw the first two shows as a kid, watched a few episodes of Underground (and then gained a massive obsession with Sleet and Dingo, arguably the best part of Underground) and...grew up on Sonic X. Boom was out of my age rage but I still tried my hardest to catch each episode when it aired. Gods I love that series.

X and Underground are my favorites too. I was about thirteen or fourteen when I starting watching those shows (I'm in my early 20's now). This was back in I think 2012-2013 maybe a little earlier. Sonic X introduced me to the Sonic series and Sonic Underground followed a little while later. I just completely fell in love with both of them despite any quirks they had.

Loved that you covered this topic! Been a huge fan of Sonic since the very beginning, and like you I've seen all the media surrounding it, especially the cartoons, I even go back and watch the OVA annually for tradition's sake. I'm sad that Boom is over, it was the best of the bunch, narrowly beating out Sonic SAT-AM for me, but I'm excited to see what Prime will bring to the table.

The hilarious thing about this video, is I feel like he’s essentially describing _me_ when I was younger. I used to _love_ Sonic like I loved nothing else to an almost unhealthy extent (still love him, but I’ve gotten into other things by now that I like quite a bit better). Not to mention, my first exposure to Sonic was _also_ through the “cartoons”...more specifically, the Sonic X anime. I was just browsing channels on my TV and stumbled across an episode of Sonic X on 4Kids...from there, the rest is history. I made the decision to get up early every day to watch Sonic X, and eventually an Aunt of mine bought my Sonic Rush Adventure as a gift. My first Sonic game. Man, this really takes me back....

Sonic X is still my all time favorite childhood anime. I got so excited as a kid when I heard about the show, and I binged on it nonstop XD I wish FootofaFerret talked about the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA anime movie with that cat anime girl and metal sonic XD

Besides the sonic tattoo my dad had and my cousin showing me me sonic X , underground was my true introduction to sonic on my own. It holds a really close place to my heart and even today I think some of the songs are kinda solid. My friends and I even pretended to be the characters when I was a kid (I was manic he was my favourite) it was just my favourite thing even with it’s unnerving animation.

Sonic X was my intro to sonic shows and is still the only sonic cartoon I will watch. Watching it every morning was normal for me I watched atleast the first 2 seasons of the show.
