ultimately though, I think that her philosophy only gives her temporary satisfaction in life. you can tell that behind the front she puts on, she seems quite lonely and is avoidant of pretty much all the problems within her marriage and the outside world.

@@aster9051 Right, like she seems like an actually decent person deep down, but she's so pressed on being the victim that she starts to hollow herself out and just not... care about anything. One scene in particular I remember is her lamenting about not having any real friends that she can confide in because they're fake, two-faced, and catty. It's clear that nearly everyone in her life disappoints her but she just has to roll with it because "life is unfair" or something like that. It's almost like the saying "ignorance is bliss" but on Daphne's part it's willful ignorance. She thinks the alternative of being an emotional recluse is just "being a victim."
