Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt is a masterpiece. A completely brilliant performance.

an important note about Geralt's Origin , is that is speculated that he was a child surprise himself, that is mentioned by the druid Mousesack during Pavetta''s party, in the novel is left open the interpretation that all witchers used tom be child surprise, or tha Mousesack being a druid might have known Visenna and her story.

I would have loved to have seen some allusion to Duny in The Wild Hunt. Like for Geralt to refer to Emyhr as Duny directly...just to humble him a bit.

You forgot to mention he gambling addiction that made he challenge poor peseants to rounds of gwent.

I believe the show will cover more and more back story as we go. I'm not sure if I like all episodes dropping at once, or if I'd like to see an episode a week. 8 episodes is too few in either case.

It's a pity that the makers of the series apparently either didn't pay attention or just ignore all the allusions to common fairy tales that are in the books. Renfri for instance was clearly an instance of Snow White. Cast out by her stepmother who also sent a huntsman after her to bring her Renfri's heart and liver. But the Huntsman felt some "pity" for her. So he rather raped her and let her go afterwards. After living on the streets stealing and prostituting herself to survive, Renfri ended up leading a gang of seven gnomes. She and that gang earned quite a name for armed robbery, murder and the like. It's some adult version of Snow White that could have been dressed up to make it suitable as a children's tale. Especially when you consider that the early version of those actual fairy tales were still as cruel as this version. Some of the girls born at the time of the Black Sun had been locked away in towers. At least on of them used her own hair to get out of the tower. Another one blinded a prince coming to "rescue" her by stabbing his eyes. Rapunzel anyone? I also remember an equally strange story of Hansel and Gretel. All these allusions to stories we used to know as a child but with their origins long lost to the past form some kind of feeling that Geralds world is quite close to our world. That these events might have been that long lost origins of our fairy tales. That atmosphere was completely missing in the series while the games still transported it.

I’ve only watched the show, and this is SO interesting. Geralt seems like such a strictly honest and straight up good guy. It’s fun to find out he’s a much more complicated character. Not much of a gamer, but now I’m definitely going to read the books!

The reverb from the backgound music is muddling with your voice recording. If you can find music without the reverb it will make your audio sound much crisper and increase the production quality. Just a suggestion :)

I think the show was great. I'm a Witcher fan, I love the games and I'm getting into the books. more than halfway through the first one. But the show was great but I do have a few critiques and every show has room to improve. I thought it felt story-wise a little rushed at times. It seems like if they gave them a few more episodes for the season they would have had more time to dive into some of the stories a little more and tell the adventure stories and the background stories a little more in-depth. And there's three different time lines going through most of the season, now if you pay very close attention to it you can catch on to that within the first episode but it's kind of hard with learning the new names of people and places and things you can miss it and sometimes things can get a little confusing because of it so it would have been cool if they could have put like a date on the bottom of the screen or something that indicated that 30 years have passed something like that. But all in all I think they made a great first season. They were able to weave in the story lines together pretty good. I would say it's worth at least two watches to get everything. And I think they do leave some information out that you get from the books and the games. maybe they plan on revealing this information in other seasons. But all in all I think it's a really great start to what I hope turns out to be a great series. I think the stories were fun and interesting, the characters are interesting especially Henry Cavill as geralt The Witcher really steals the show. Yen is awesome so I think the actors did great. I can't wait for more

I hated the the casting choice and the general direction they took with Yen in the Netflix show. They also screwed up casting Triss but it didn’t bother me as much as Yen. All in all, I really enjoyed the first season but I really wish they would have done a bit better on some of the casting and character direction choices.

Okay maybe one of the super fans or somebody else can tell me this but is it not a continuity error that Gerald is 71 in The Witcher yet he claims that he lived through an entire dark age in three times that it was supposedly the end of days first off in age would be hundreds if not thousands of f****** years Gerald is nowhere near that old even in the f****** games
