My parents were Ukrainian and I was brought up with food that Maria is cooking, so delicious, all the ingredients I can see is exactly how mum would have made these meals. With technology as it is now, I wish mum was here to see how the internet could have transported her back to her country and the area where she lived and where Maria lives, it would have been such a joy for her.

I love how tidy, well-maintained, orderly and civilized the whole place and herself are.

I don't know about Ukranian culture but watching her videos about how life is in the mountains; I see is hard due to the low and harsh temperatures in winter. Her nature and lovely disposition make her videos easy to see and understand what she is doing or cooking. One can recognize the ingredients she is using for all the cooking. Myself I have a passion for nature, for plants and for cooking, that is why I admire her personality, her videos on cooking and all the talents she possesses. At the beginning of the video, she is collecting wild rose hips to make tea for the chilling weather. The reddish buds she puts in her little basket. Then she is making homemade cheese. she has fresh cheese and dried cheese already done. Then she blends the dried one to make a dough of cheese and she kneads the cheese dough to fill in the pasta she makes later. She uses flour to make the dough and adds eggs to it. She kneads both cheese and flours separately. Then we can see how she prepare and cuts the round parts to make Tourtellellinis or also called Dumplings. She starts to fill in the dumplings. She seals tightly the dumplings to make sure they do not open when cooking. She cooks them in boiled water until tender. At the mean time she has extracted perhaps some marinated animal fat with slightly meat in it and she frys it. She uses at the end to spread this fat over the dumplings to enrich the flavor. She also has at the side; I believe is cream and spreads also over the top. My God, everything looks so appetizing and delicious! She decorated with some green herbs perhaps aromatizing and flavoring that she cut from her garden. At the end, she washes the rose hips and boils them in lots of water to make the rose hip tea. What a perfect dinner! I hope this can help you, according to what I see! Enjoy it as much as I did, and I am looking forward making her fabulous recipe. I can imagine, one can use the recipe as a base and add anything else we want in the dumpligs, such chicken and veggies or just pure cheese.

We fried them golden brown rather than poring the drippings over them and serving with gravy! Simply delicious! A lot of work for special family dinners!! My children love them and me too!!

You know,,tonight I took a chance on watching this woman's videos, and almost immediately I fell in love with her. Because she reminds me of my great aunt Elizabeth with whom I lived on and off in my early childhood.This lady reminds me of her industriousness and meal preparation skills.She could cook anything. And like this lady here recipes were all in her head. She could go out into the forests and pick what to me looked life weeds, then bring them home and cook some of the best food I've ever eaten. As I watched this woman cooking these meals, I found myself wishing that I could goto Ukraine to taste just a little of what she was preparing. The thing that puzzles me, is the volume of food that she cooks each time. If she's alone, then, why does she cook such volumes of food each time. I know that you can cook one meal that lasts an entire week, because I just did that with pasta and meat sauce, as well as, I cooked an entire meatloaf. and I ate the two things on alternate nights as well as in combination some nights. But this is something far more than that. So what's the catch? Does she cook for other people in the area or what? No matter what I'm definitely going to keep watching the videos. I'm 70.5 years of age, but I still love cooking and watching people cook for real like this lady. She is amazing! Thanks for finding her and sharing with the rest of us. My name is Reggie.
