that's what got me into the band in the first place, the suburbia leak. was a weird time for me, since then every new TWY record cycle was right spot-on with my life, from going homeless in 2015 with NCTH up to b&d vol 2 being the perfect day-to-day description for the week of my 26th birthday. Still want this band to be one of my first tattoos.

I was just reminded why this is my favorite band. It's 11pm, I came home with my bike and no lights, my front tire is leaking a bit, last night a friend suddenly rang my doorbell because he was kicked out. now this, and 2nd verse and bridge just laugh at me because I know I've been there and got out (because of Pyramids tbh), so I'm definitely better off now and shouldn't be suicidal anymore. There ya go, I just decided that for me bc of this song. :)

Thank you The wonder years. I went to north penn and grew up watching you guys play as The premier. I was at your Cd release show and even still have an old ep with you and Bangarang. Some of the best times of my life were going to the lansdale vfw and watching you guys perform. It’s amazing to see how you’ve grown. You’ve impacted countless individuals lives over the years and have gotten me through tough times. Thank you for all the art you’ve produced over the years and congratulations on your success. Omfg, I relate to this song too well. The multiple layers of gloves while biking in the cold. Dodging car doors only to have the fucking trolley tracks up in Temple area warp the shit outta the bike's tires SPECIALLY on 12th Street. Very visceral imagery and one of the reasons I love this band so much.

@@SOBEKCrocodileGod I’m not a Folie a Deux guy lol that’s about the time I got real disenchanted with music and the bands that I grew up liking. FOB, Underoath, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, Hellogoodbye and Paramore all changed their sound around then and “matured”.

Yes please. I'm bored to tears by their last two albums. If they want to keep going down that route, they obviously can do whatever they want to, but it's just not for me. I hope they'll make another pop-punk album. I think it was a much better fit for them than whatever it is that they're going for now..

This was killer as always but the last two albums were stellar. Innovative, complex, new levels of lyrical exploration and interest. Going back to this style to celebrate the album is cool, but we gotta value the progress and exploration above nostalgia and comfort zones. I listened to Sister Cities for the 1000th time yesterday and am continually awestruck by the journey, the energy. Keep growing, TWY.

Couldn't have said it better myself, but the one song off of sister cities that I didn't like as much as the others is pyramids of salt. Don't get me wrong the song is great but a couple of the low notes soupy hit in that song sounded a bit off.

@@pineconerudy1519 Fair point- his method of vocal distortion makes the lower register harder to enunciate without vocal fry and sighing. He's said it himself that his style isn't healthy. I think he uses it stylistically to give that sense of desperation, but it does cause issues with pitch and enunciation.

This is all i needed today. As much as i love the last two albums, suburbia especially is one of those albums thats just perfect from start to finish, which is a rare thing. The only other bands i can say that about are Saves the day with 'through being cool' and the ataris with 'end is forever'.
