My three-year-old nephew is currently fascinated with colors. This fascination has led to some awkward questions or suppositions that the adults around him find difficult to answer or correct, such as whether there is such a thing as brown light. ;) A fascinating talk from Dr. Fox, as always, and a welcome follow-up to his Three Colors documentary.

Fox's thoughts on blue, in particular, 18:25 are fascinating. His work for the BBC triggered my ongoing fascination with Yves Klein. I now carry a small piece of lapis lazuli in my pocket.

I also loved the "Blue" episode but I have to admit I was most struck by "White," not least because its striking analysis of racism and all other kinds of austerity and authoritarianism. "White might be the darkest color of all" gave me chills.

His comments on black are super interesting. It made me think if i had a white surface and a black surface of equal shininess, the black surface would actually seem shinier due to the contrast he mentioned. Perhaps if black needs light, light also needs black.

I can hear clearly, thank goodness, but the subtitles are terrible. Probably just transcribed by a robot in response to sound. Nobody has checked this
