Part of what explains the Ghoul's personality change is his age. You know how older people in their 80s & 90s get more cynical and direct after experiencing the same things in life over and over? Now imagine being alive for 250 years, just how much you'd be over the bullsh*t of day to day life.

Add to that the fact that he knew the world pre-War, so he had to watch civilization degrade into savagery real quick after the bombs fell. What Lucy considers barbaric probably doesn't come close to how things were in the immediate aftermath of the nukes, and that's what he had to deal with.

Its nice that Pudgey remembered the comment about the alimony and therefore that Cooper and his wife must be divorced, from the first episode. Most reaction channels seem to forget this one quick line.

I'm sure Spartan is a good lad and is much kinder to her behind closed doors, otherwise why would a girl like Pudgy stick around? I just think he gets embarrassed easily and its like a little competition between them, ya know? At least I hope. I like to give peope the benefit of the doubt 🩷 Edited for spelling

Lot of weird things like that I'm noticing from this dude. Knew a couple people like that in the war. They're gone now. And not from battle. The kind of mentality you see in the news after they tried to hide their girlfriends body.

Regarding the gulper's death. It's difficult to see because of how brief the shots of the Gulper are, but if you look closely the Gulper bit the anchor the ghoul had Lucy tied to when he was using her as bait. When Maximus pulls out his squire, he grabbed the handle of the anchor that was lodged in the edge of its mouth to use as leverage. So when he pulled using the anchor it pulled out the Gulper's innards.

The “Maybe” song is the opening music to the original Fallout game. The band that sung it, the Inkspots, opens most of their songs with that guitar melody, so when later games in the series use an Inkspots song, that little riff became branded as “Fallout music.”

thank you! so many people shit on maximus for all the wrong reasons. sure, in some ways he's dumber than a box of rocks. but let's be honest, the dude was taken into a cult when he was just a little kid. all he knows of the world comes from his experiences with said cult. i just wonder how many of the people who criticise him would react if they were in his shoes instead of casting judgement from the safety of a well informed side line!

He could give Titus a stimpak (which heals almost instantly, as we can see from the dog) and Titus wouldn't have died, what do you say about that? Maximus was just jealous of Titus and actually went to betrayal in order to take over his armor and, at least partially, his status. He has already spoken about his envy of Aspirant Dane during the interrogation in the first episode.

My theory is that the Ghoul dumps out the water in his flask, not to torment or just be an asshole to Lucy but because it is far too heavily irradiated for Lucy to drink and not die from and he knows that. He doesn't have to worry about radiation, she would have to.

The best theory for the Ghoul is this is Cooper Howard’s last act. Staying in character as the Ghoul kept him alive. Because the moment he breaks character 219 years of reality will hit him hard. That and he still has a very good reason to keep going.

Essentially Cooper Howard was Vault-Tec's spokesperson, but in the first episode we hear the one guy say he's doing birthday shows to pay for alimony so something happens with his wife and him that causes them to split apart, and since she works at Vault-Tec (she's the one that got him to do the advertisements for them), it's easy to conclude that after the split Cooper's likeness was replaced by the mascot Vault Boy. So when the Ghoul shoots the face of Vault Boy it's like he's shooting that image of himself. Either out of disgust of what Vault-Tec did, resentment towards the world and how it's become, or some other emotion, the Ghoul can't stand seeing the smiling thumbs up poster boy that he helped inspire.

Maxi can not tell the truth. He sweared to protect his Lord. Knight is dead and Squire is alive= the squire failed. Titus told him,what happens to squires ,when they fail ( and was sure,that Max will accept the punishment with honour) They would kill Max. No matter the circumstances. He had not given his live for Titus,is all that matters. Its fully middle-age based. His only way IS to Bring the target and hope for thankfullness and mercy

And is fun to watch. Typical relationship dynamic. But if it goes too far, too _much_ "joking", things can fall apart.

@@tobe1207 Yea I'm not putting the ghoul in the 'bad guy' category, he's what looks like a good person that's been shaped by his experiences (and shaped literally by the radiation and drugs) into something much different. ALL the characters are going to change over time, perhaps not so radically but the Fallout world is a really f-ed up place and 'paladins' don't last very long in it.
