maybe they want to change the trees for the arrival of the microraptor since it will climb the branches, and the trees in the game now don't have many so probably that's why they're making this change too

You need custom built trees which can be climbed in the future.

if the Trees are changing maybe they get better Hitboxes like the improved ones in the isle (microraptor climbing)

I honestly hope that the new foliage only replaces the pre existing foliage on gondwa, and dosent add to it much. I love gondwa, but the number of biomes is already really really packed, and any more foliage might make the map feel really disjointed. Hopefully with the mention of wetlands we might get more biomes added to panjura, since that map I feel has the exact opposite problem.

The new plants coming out are so good looking

What I missed most about this game was the prehistoric plants. This way the world of ancient animals will look more authentic. This will create greater immersion in the ancient prehistoric world. It's little things like this that create the atmosphere.

I’m hoping they make more edible plants aside from the bush. I’d love for taller herbivores to be able to eat from canopy’s as well!

I'm so glad that people are paying more attention to the plants that prehistoric creatures lived alongside. the only paleo artist I know about who specializes in plants is Julianne Kiely and by the way 5:48 those are most likely Bennettitales which are a group of plants that look like cycads but died off during the Oligocene and originated during the Permian.

im gonna miss many plants honestly, specially those huge pines, i love the forests with those and they dont feel out of place... but if they are an addition, thats gonna be great

Since the last update there have been a lot of glitchy stuff on X Box. The loading screen right before the dino selection screen, the rain sound effect plays really loudly. Even if it's not actually raining on the server. If you use auto run your dinosaur doesn't stop running unless you come to a complete stop, sometimes not even then. Most time it's like trying to wrangle a bull. Right on the directional pad is used for auto run/questing. So my dino starts running away or off of something causing damage or in a couple instances death. I watched someone else's video and they were having the same problem on PS5. My favorite though, are the quests just disappearing in the middle of collecting them. They just completely disappear off the screen with no timer and without leaving the area. Sometimes even before the update on Panjura the stuff won't even spawn in. This still happens. I'm looking for acorns or whatever where they should be and they're nowhere to be seen. Happens on Gondwa too just not as frequently. I was starving to death and a bush I had used so many times just didn't spawn in and I died. This was after I realized the find food quest didn't pop up and I was in trouble. Did they remove it?? I use also use the food manager option. I've died from glitches in this game way more than KOSers or anything else, that's saying something. How about fixing some of the existing problems before starting a new project?? Also, they should either make ALL the small branches just lying on the ground have collision or don't. You can run through this twig but the next twig stops you. Make up your mind...

I wish they would bring the magnificent red wood trees from Panjura to Gondwa, they provided a unique combat environment.

I'm much more excited for the foliage overall as it could mean that sometimes in the future the devs could swap out the Berry bushes to actually eatable plants for players who like to play herbivores. Not only would this be more impressive, but it would also get rid of the Berry bushes ( and tbh, I don't why the devs ever thought having Berry bushes as a source of food for herbivores was ever a good idea) I really hope the devs actually open up the variety in eatable plants in the future and remove Berry bushes entirely.

The magna ant mod has been getting attention recently went from 8 out of 40 to 17 out of 40 im eggxited for it :> as likely the first insect mod it will be interesting to sew how its done

I really love plants so this is big for me. I’ve always been disappointed at the number of angiosperms (flowering plants) in the game. They didn’t evolve until fairly recently and many plants (oak and birch) didn’t evolve until after all dinos. I’m honestly hyped about horsetails as I see them all the time. It would be cool to have biomes with no vascular plants or just no trees just to see how it looked.

A.I prehistoric insects would add a lot to the feel of the environment. Also great for small fliers and insectivores.

As I’ve been playing a baby Meg since the game came out on Xbox, I’m most excited about the hatchling update, & since the last update I can no longer grow s Dino to unlock all the abilities then shrink back to juvie and still benefit from the slotted abilities, and I loved it, I could swim forever, dive to catch fish to eat, and I could run from any dink trying to kill me since I could at least attemp to out run them or out swim them, I still died a lot, but it was extremely fun, & also most players are not as bloodthirsty toward baby players, & due to my own skill, I could hold my own in some fights with the reality that I would die if I got hit, & I was ok with that, but now they took away the ability to play the juvie Meg as a semi aquatic & it really sucks, I hope they fix it by allowing the abilities after you grow and then become a hatchling.

Ngl, the only biome in the game that somewhat resembles anything with dinosaurs was the swamp. Panjura has redwoods, yes, but the map is not played that much by now + redwoods are not necessary the type of enviro I personally want to see my dinos in. Foliage changes seem to have a huge potential of making the game looks visually updated and much more on spot. My only concern is.. What are we going to collect then? No more acorns? No more pinecones? :O

I just want to fix the fallen log issue why my full grown trex gets stuck on a fallen log that I can't even see below the bushes

I really hope they don't just shove all this in game ontop of all the already preexisting foliage... shadows for pre existing foliage already cause I massive dip in performance on mid to lower end devices in foliage heavy areas and I would like to not have to keep reducing my graphics everytime I step into a foliage heavy area after an update comes out it's very annoying..

I was kind of hoping this was a new map. I'm sort of over Gondwa. The map is huge and awesome but also, there are a few hot spots that make it all feel worthless. You can have an amazing looking map and it can be huge, but if people all congregate in 1/10th the map, there is no point to it.

They need to Remake the Quest System, OR take it out all together. Forget the Look of the game.

Overhaul is being widely overused here imo. Mobile and PC graphics looking just as good, welp that doesn't exist. So that can only mean a downgrade for PC to bring it more inline with mobile and console versions. You cant do it the other way because the hardware just isn't there to support it. Hopefully im wrong but I'm willing to bet there are some noticable texture and graphic downgrads present when it goes live. Its also worth noting that trying to improve overall performance for everyone across the board all while adding more foliage would be a bit counterintuitive to what they are trying to accomplish, no?
