Short version of Mordekaiser's story: He was an ancient king following a "norse like" religion about dying in glory. He died and realized that no such afterlife existed, so became a revenant to counquer the world.

To answer your question about Vander. He IS Warwick. All of Arcane is current Piltover/Zaun lore but with a twist that makes it so much better. For example, Warwick was "a down on his luck bar patron" before singed took him. Most of the league community is constantly asking Riot to make Arcane the definitive lore but therein lies the problem. Hextech in the current league is exported/stolen and can be found all over the world (Like those de-foresters that were found by the Ixtal mages or weapons used by bilgewater) but in Arcane, Hextech is a brand new discovery and is contested for its use. There would need to be a lot of retconning and rewriting of stories to make it happen. Until Riot does anything on the topic Arcane is just a slightly alternate universe of current lore. But as the community says Arcane is canon and such stories like Vander happened and is his real backstory

there is not much retconing needed, by the references to noxus and the state of hextech, arcane is a solid 5 to 10 years behind the the current events

I'm sorry, what? Arcanes Piltover hierarchy is a very basic dumbed down version. Characters like Jayce are turned from unlikeable antihero to stereotypical protagonist. Arcane is different, not better.

As you asked about Kindred: No they aren't Vastaya, they are death. Check out their lore for more :) And Elise isn't a Vastaya either. She is a noble woman from Noxus. And then the shadow isles got involved.

On magic in Demacia, it seems that something like Garen's armor absorbs magic and uses it to strengthen him, but not with his full understanding of it happening (example in the music video you mentioned, "Our favorite communist" absorbed magic from Garen's sword to mimic it). I think Sylas has voice lines aroung how Garen doesn't realize he's using magic through his equipment.

@@Wladeex123 since its still officially that Demacians believe Petricide cancels magic, they dont realize that it absorbs it ... the only one who did was the one who build Galio ... through that is brought into question with Legends of Runtera and the cards introduced with Galio ... where you see people capable of creating Petricide constructs and knowing how they work... that said since LoR is not necessarily canon canon its still not clear how much of that is true in the main story line ...

About your point from 10:05 : I thought it would be kind of cool if Demacia turned mages into mech pilots. Create giant constructs that had a pocket for a mage to sit in (and be protected) and the mage can channel their power into the construct. It might be an interesting engineer class upgrade once the player finishes the main Demacia story arc.

15:50 Yes, the Trifarix Council. And yes, it does consist of Darius and Swain. The third member is the Faceless, who's a guy/girl wearing a mask. So you don't know who the third member is and that's kinda the point. They represent the three principles of strength: Might, Guile and Vision. Darius being Might, the leader of the armies, Swain is Vision, the leader of the Noxian Empire in charge of the overall direction of its policies, and the Faceless is Guile, the clever one in charge of intel gathering and assassinations, like Varys from GoT

LoL going strong cause they change up stuff enough each season to pull people in. Its lore has been changed up before too. The problem it has now is that it's a game running on an old core with a massive spaghetti code pile-up. Game gets pretty big bugs even in their eSports scene nowadays. Vandiril has a lovely collection on all the bugs and even showing when they happen in eSports. I'm willing to bet that's why they've been attempting to make other branches to depend on.

Yeah, it is called Zul'Drak, and the main tribe of Ice Trolls were the Drakkari Tribe of the Drakkari Empire, but apparently those are no more.

Tahm Kench is the demon of Addiction. Evelyn is the demon of agony. Raum* (Swain's birb) is the demon of secrets. Nocturne is the demon of nightmares. Fiddlesticks is the demon of fear.

One nitpick. Swain's demon's name is Raum not Rhaul. Also, there is a difference between Eve, Sultur, Vora, Solitude, Domination, Steem, Nocturne, Raum, Tahm Kench, Tybaulk(Tibbers) and Fiddlesticks. The first 9 are Minor Demons, with Tybaulk being an old, and still loyal, demon that served Mordekaiser. And now serves Annie. Fiddlesticks, and the recently revealed Ashlesh, are 2 of the Ten Kings. The most powerful demons in Runeterra. The first one devours and inflicts extreme side Fear and Terror, the second devours and inflicts the extreme side of Joy (for example, Nilah who has a contract with Ashlesh in exchange for the memory of her existence of everyone who knew her, can now only feel joy, discarding every other emotion)

@@garreonlefay6703 Totally fair correction on Raum, not sure where the hell I grabbed Rhaul from. I didn't know that TIbbers was confirmed to be a demon. I knew that Fiddle was an ancient demon and I somewhat knew about NIlah being in contact with a demon, but without knowing the exact I wanted to keep the short information.

i do think necrit is close but i would change a few things. as a start i would add piltover, zaun, bilgewater and ionia in the start with the other northen zones. why? well piltover and zone as a expansion alone doesnt feel right, also arcane season 2 will be out before this and i would try to work off that momentum. there are other reasons for ionia how will people get off there and not be in noxus? it would be through bilgewater and then piltover. you could also do the air ship thing but i would hold that untill more of the map is out. see these 3 zones will work great together and doing one at a time would feel like a cash grab and feel more like wow tactics than riot being riot. now i dont think any expansion will cost, i do think it will be free to play, but i do think things like skins (how could riot have not skin sales?) character slots (come on can you only make 6-8 champs?) and last yea pets. some may hate pets but its a big money maker that does nothing for game play and why would they pass that up on a free to play game? so back to my point necrit could be right but for the player base and world building i think it would make sense to put ionia, bilgewater and piltover/zaun as the base. last it would make shurima the first expansion and that would be a great expansion to start with.

EDIT: NOW OUTDATED INFO. I dont think this is gonna happen but becouse they have revealed this new continent i am abit worried that this is where the MMO could take place. The main reson i think there is a chans for this is becouse Riot have said that we will not follow the established League champions. There is currently over 160 champions and creating storys to purposly avoiding them when several of them are city leaders and army generals could cause some problems especially in the long run. They dident say that we would never se them but they would definatly not be involved as far as the main story goes. I think the odds of this happening is very very low but the timing of confirming the MMO is in production and the reveal of this new continents existance is suspiciously close. It also creates a very easy way to avoid 99% of the OP champions while exploring the continent.

@@casperryborg4869 Some of this is very outdated info and Ghostcrawler have now confirmed that league champions will be in the game. This also pretty mutch negates my fear of the game taking place in this new region becouse if this new region is to the East its most likly Camavor and the only champions from there i know about is Viego, Kalista, Hecarim and Gwen. Apparently Vlad and Nilah have some family ties to that place aswell but isent from there. How many champions and what role they will play in the mmo i havent seen Ghostcrawler said anything about.

I mean, I kind of get where the Demacians are coming from. I don't condone nor accept what they do.....but I see where they are coming from. They are descendants of survivors of the Rune Wars, so I can see why they are afraid of magic. Their ancestors were almost nuked to extinction via World Rune magic. Granted i would be more of an advocate of relocating mages found in demacia to the Mage City that is outside of Demacia. Said Mage City sometimes help them with Rogue Mages....instead of locking them into the prisons and feed them Petricite Potions. I prefer to live in the Skirts of Targon. Also, Aurelion Sol doesn't eat Constellations. He _creates_ stars and constellations

Before the rewrite I kind of liked several Demacian Champs.....now I hate almost all of them, Lux and Garen specially. Granted I wouldn't side with the other side either, I would take the mages and get the fuck out of dodge....which is what Lux is lowkey doing....while trying to stop Sylas

Dude maybe I'm just mishearing but did you say you haven't watched Arcane, because if you haven't what's wrong with you I've never played league but I absolutely loved Arcane it's literally one of my top five animated shows,also I'll probably won't watch your video sadly just in case of spoilers for Arcane, but seriously please check out Arcane maybe even post reactions on the channel idk just a suggestion

The old now discarded lore actually had a decent explanation for the "balance" in the game between the characters. You were merely summoning an avatar, a copy of your champion. That's also why you "level up" over the course of the match - the more in depth your connection with the champion becomes during fighting, the better you become at using their abilities to the full potential that this mere copy is capable off. The REAL champions were never canonically on the battlefield, back when we were still "Summoners". Kinda sad that all got rewritten in order to justify kicking Dominion out of the game as a mode :

i kinda prefer the current direction they went with the lore. the summoner thing is cool and all but it raises alot of questions: are the summoners apart of this world? if so, does runeterra know about the tournaments/matches that are being held? WHY are these tournaments/matches being held? are the events of summoner's rift somehow effecting runeterra? if not then why does the concept have to exist? if yes then it's going to pull the lore focus away from individual champions and the story of their regions into a mortal kombat scenario where the stories that are being told are "what will happen in the future." rather than "what happened in the past?". for me it just... doesn't seem like they can do much with it, chaining all the champions into one big tournament arc where at the end of each bio is "and thats why they joined the league of legends!" just doesn't appeal to me, and if they are just mere copies... why would it be relevent to runeterra at all?

@@Spot_Faceless-Soldier Because the summoners were basically the only ones left standing and alive and even allowed to use major amounts of magic (the continent was literally about to be torn apart by earthquakes from all the rune magic used in the wars). They were so OP they could threaten any of the states with absolute annihilation if they dared wage open war - all political conflicts were exclusively resolved in the Arena. Hence why the win of Ionia vs Noxus was literally decided based on an actual showmatch of 2 teams using only champs for their respective nations (Which also gave the Ionian Boots of Lucidity their item name). And yea that did make the AGENCY of those states basically minimal because they couldn't really do anything against the summoners. Would've made for a bad setting for the MMO as well. BUT the whole story arc around Dominion, having an actual fight break out and having Zilean help the Summoners literally freeze the entire battlefield in a time bubble. Then they had to slowly retrieve the soldiers one by one and they gave Jarvan IV and Swain some slaps for starting the whole mess. That was SUCH a fun origin story for the game mode and even for Skarner (he originally literally just unborrowed in the middle of the chaos because the time bubble affected his dormant race of crystalline beasts)
