The World's Fastest Elevator

12 жыл бұрынA trip up one of the world's fastest elevators (36km/h), the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC), a staggering 492.0 metres tall (currently the world's second largest building, after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai at 829.84 m).
China are currently building a new tower called the Shanghai Tower (due for completion 2014), will surpass the Shanghai World Financial Centre as the worlds second tallest structure but will feature the world's fastest lifts developed by Mitsubishi whisking people up 632 metres (128 floors) at a speed of around 64.8km/h.

The elevator featured in this video is currently tied equal 3rd fastest in the world, operating at a speed of around 36km/h;
1st - Taipei 101, Taipei, Taiwan; 60.6km/h
2nd - Yokohama Landmark Tower, Yokohama, Japan; 45km/h

Technically they are, time changes with gravity and gravity changes height by that logic we all are time travelling but its so small amount that we cant tell what happened

@alex just clicks That's true, but some people, myself included, are very sensitive to even small changes in pressure. I feel some pressure on my ears even when I drive up a small hill, so, I wouldn't just notice a rapid 450 meter ascent, it'd actually be pretty painful.

Well i'm pretty sure the lift top has railings. So when it reaches the roof. You just have to crouch down so your body isn't touching anything above the railing

If I was on that elevator I would be hanging on for dear life I’d would grab a stranger or something, if I was alone I would be crying by the time I get up there, I have a big fear of elevators and heights and small spaces so this is a literal nightmare 💀

Had dreams of elevators like this, but the number is the floor number and it goes super fast and endless. Into the thousands, even though the building is only supposed to be ten floors. Then the elevator opens and the floor is different from the regular ones up until the tenth floor, it’s like fancy rich hotel but the apartments are all empty and unlocked. The apartments look like modern art installations.
