Is it possible to create amazing scale models using an inexpensive 3D filament printer?Well for a long time I was put off from getting a 3D printer as I couldn't see how it could be useful to creating scale models.
You will be surprised at what I discovered.......

thank you. yes when designed well 3D models really can bring out the true 3D nature of real life items, the next step is to finish them by carefully sanding, glueing and painting and then adding a touch of weathering. I will be making some more videos shortly.

Hi Jeff, thank you so much for your comments, its took a lot of work to get this far but I find designing and making things much easier now, look forward to making more videos. I have another loco in the pipeline which should be showing soon

There is one model I want which nobody makes in 0 gauge and aistsxa lorry. This particular lorry would be popular with any modeller who models in the early BR nationalisation era,and suits all regions, I'm talking about the 3 wheel mechanical horse called the Scammell Scarab. I can't believe that nobody has made one as they would were very common across all of the UK.

I have been 3D printing out O gauge over the last 6 years or so and it took a while to fine tune the printers good enough to do the job. I don't own one myself but work now has 3 machines ( 2 flashforge Creator Pro's and 1 Raised Pro2 ) I do print Australian NSWR Steam Era rolling stock and it beats paying big dollars for factory made stuff. I use Solidworks and then print from there. So much stuff can be printed with a 3D printer and it takes a little bit of practice but heck you can print some good stuff out for sure. I just finished printing out a model of a Komatsu 830e Dump truck scale 1:15 and weighed in at a whopping 16kgs. I printed out for work to go to a show for our stall. This will be put up on the tube soon. Well done on your project awesome job, especially the track system. What 3D printer do you use as I though about buying myself a Flashforge Guider to keep on printing at home. And the finish on some of the rolling stock is awesome. Cheers and keep it real Brad

I've printed all my rolling stock and a few loco's, but i'd gone with Peco rails to ease flexibility, as it's nice to take my stock out for a run and not need to worry about compatibility, as well as being able to accept visitors. I also use metal wheels which does mean a few aren't as detailed, but the weight and reliablity is much improved- my plastic wheels i made a few years back didn't come out nicely, too much friction you've gotten a great finish on things though, but it must take hours of work to get them so polished- i do budget wagons mostly which are much quicker and my Ender 3's can do a decent finish on standard i have a few low quality videos on my chanel if you're interested

Thank you Skog, I found as long as I make sure the plastic wheel treads are smooth and I use brass axels and ensure they spin freely in the plastic model axelboxes. I will have a look at your channel

Is it also possible to build a rebuilt and unrebuilt bulleid pacific that can run outside and pull up to 40 wagon loads? with a 3d printer
