Qantas is the National Carrier of Australia, The airline was founded at Winton, QLD in 1920 making it the 3rd oldest airline still in operation. It has the largest fleet in Australian Aviation with an interesting history including B747s, B707s and Lockheed Constellations. They now operate a fleet of A380s (12), B787-9s (11), A330-300s (10), A330-200s (18), B737-800s (75).

Great review Luke and thanks for showing what the experience is like on one of QF's flagships flights! With your little run in with the TSA, I've never really understood the logic about not being able to take a bottle of water through security (or even on to the flight post security to Aus) on an international flight yet it could be same aircraft on a domestic flight and they are totally cool with it at least in Aus! I would have thought that rule should be enforced across the board or not at all!

America is on another level when it comes to what’s allowed through security, my recommendation is if you want to take a water bottle through make sure you leave it empty, then fill it up after clearing security

Customer service fairly decent, Seat comfort....well I slept for 10 hours so....check in bag? nope dunno if they were strict with weight

The QF 11/12 in 1992/1994 was on The Queen of the Skies. I also had to fly up from Melbourne on her also. No direct flights from Melbourne back then. Sleep in Economy, I was awake all the way to Sydney. I was buggered. Still had the Melbourne sector also. Never been on an A380. Cheers.

I remember flying on a QANTAS 747 back in the '90s. As we took our seats and waited for departure this very angry flight attendant came up to me demanding what I wanted!?! I said I didn't want anything and she was like "why are you continuously pressing the call button then?" Ooops...it was an accident! 🙄
