If your struggles consist of you constantly treating the people around you poorly I’m gonna think less of you. Especially if you are making no attempt to fix those behaviors and “woe is me” the whole situation.

I do kinda understand the utopia critics, it isn’t a flawless album, it does have high HIGHS, but it isn’t that consistent, the second half of the album isn’t as strong as it could be, I don’t even listen to the album I only like the songs I like and that’s it atp 🤷🏾♂️

Pink tape is a 5/10 max. Love Uzi but man it felt like he wasn’t even trying to make anything good. Poorly curated playlist, severely bloated and highlights Uzis biggest problem nowadays which is his song selection and listening to the wrong fans.

It’s crazy how critical people wanna be with Travis when his music is still some of the most unique, risk taking, and creative music in the hip hop game. Some people just don’t get how much he pushes the genre and sound forward I guess.

The review was so dismissive and essentially made out it was all performative from Tyler to correct previous lyrics and yeah people really came for Kelly McLure. Consequence even came out a few years later saying they got it totally wrong in an article

The Delresto slander needs to stop, imo the song is one of the highlights of the album. Idk it might be just me but the song makes me feel like I am sleep deprived and my plane just landed at around 3 am while I still have a few hours alone walking in the empty airport while waiting for my connection flight. Maybe a bit too specific.

Yoo guys I have a recommendation for you: The Album Stadtaffe by Berlin based rapper Peter Fox You won't understand anything but it's worth for the instrumentals and Peter's delivery alone. It's unlike anything you've ever heard. A classic on the level of a graduation or misseducation imo I'd love to hear your opinion on it And I'd be so down to explain the themes and lines if you actually decide to give it a listen

I enjoyed the Utopia album but most of the power of the album comes with the production. I just love great lyrics coming from the rapper. I feel because of Kayne, TikTok, and some trap we are losting the lyrics in rap. Everything feels so condensed. We get it, you can make a great beat or instrumental. For example, I asked my 23 year cousin why she isn't a fan of 2Pac, Biggie, and Nas, and she literally said to me it's too "wordy", the beats are boring compared to people like Travis Scott & the jersey or drill scene, and why be impactful (care) when you gonna die in the end. My heart broke. 😢

I don't get why that's a bad thing tho. Not everyone is a fan of lyrical tracks or artists like 2pac and biggie which is fine. I personally like both but see myself gravitate more towards the trap and psychedelic side of hiphop. Let's be real here. Majority of people aren't trying to listen to something super complex or that requires sitting down and really understanding the song. Sure lyrics are important but production has so much more to do with music. It's nice going into an album not knowing what sounds I'm going to hear, where I'll be transported etc.

Maybe I'll get hate for this, but I feel like one of your worst takes is how much you guys under rated NF. He is an excellent rapper with some really interesting flows and lyrics, as well as great grandiose production that is unique to him and him alone. Even if you feel like you're being “preached at” with songs like The Search or Hope, like you guys have said, he has a lot of stuff outside of this that are completely different sonically and as well as having very different content. Songs like Prideful or No Excuses are really excellent showcases of his ability to spit. I'd highly recommend that you guys give him another chance. Regardless, love the channel, keep up the good work guys.

Critic reviews are at times so funny, they might give praise to the album throughout review, just to add the last sentence which sounds almost like they criticisizing a person behind the album and not the music itself, and give it like a 30 out of 100

Besides Day n night and a few others, I didn’t really like Man on the Moon when it first dropped. I didn’t really go back to it as I remembered it being sort of meh. I revisited it last year as it was ROM on VMP. Now I consider it one of the worst albums I have ever heard, it is so bad.

What I like about Fantano is that he actually backs up his reviews, no matter how shitty his rating is. These websites like Rolling Stones and Pitchfork either listen to the majority or go based off of if they like the artist. A lot of the reviews and lists are awful and the detail is lackluster.

I agree with The Guardians' review of Utopia. It's not a good album. Im not a fan of this new sound that Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Yeat, and others like them are trying to make. It's awful, to be honest. I like Travis Scott's other music for the most part

We didn’t know who or what Cudi really was. So at that time in 2008/09 his simple cat rat hat rhymes was even a let down to me. Of course now in 2024 we know better to expect that from Cudi. He was groundbreaking and you can’t doubt those who didn’t get it.. took me months if not a year

i feel like im the only person who likes pink tape. i thoroughly enjoy like 20 or so of the tracks and i hate long albums so its definitely not a great album to listen to front to back, but song to song i like it more than ea & luv is rage 1 (dont kill me)

A lot of these critics would actually take their words back if they could but I kinda understand why they get it wrong most of the time. It is quite impossible to give an accurate review of an album after a few listen. Most of these reviews are influenced by the reviewers' perception of the artist and music taste, performance of the artist's previous project, and the public perception. After all is their opinions, right

I feel like most of these journalists were instructed to write a controversial review just for clicks and fill it with general statements and complex words to appear smarter, even though many of these words are misused in the sentences where they’re placed.

The 2020's is one of the worse if not the worse decade of rap/hip hop so far. Saying his albums is the best of the decade speaks to the lack of good projects rather than how good utopia is.
