Also, he is somewhat of a celebrity hairstylist or something like that so I can imagine she'd have felt some pressure.. Still, she accepted the offer. She could have said NO. She has to take responsibility for that part. She was NOT forced. Don't rail on a guy who went out of his way to do something great for you. It is such a poor look on her.

Smiling and saying “I love it” after a haircut you hate is so real. My hair dresser is older, and the way she styles my hair makes me look like my daughter Melinda is about to drive me back to the senior center to go play bingo with the girls. It's just hard to find the truly talented artists because anyone can post photos of another's work and claim it as their own nowadays There's always a bias when you compare art from the era you live in to art from the past because time hasn't yet filtered out the trash. If anything, the standards nowadays are probably higher than in the past, simply because the competition is huge and globalisation means we don't have one defining look per decade but one per month. And the looks that make history are so expensive none of us could realistically afford them anyway lol

Angelika, I love you, but I'm going to have to disagree with some of your takes on this one. Bringing back fried, damaged hair can be difficult. Her hair actually looked amazing compared to when it started. Going from where she started to where she ended is a direct result from the damage she inflicted on her hair. He had to work with what he had. Yes he shouldn't have agreed to doing extensions over the phone, but opinions can change once you see the damage in person compared to a picture. Long hair extensions can actually pull and weigh down fragile hair and actually cause more breakage and damage over time. Hair extensions are also expensive and require maintenance. If she claims to not have a lot of money, (which she did in a text to Alfredo) he actually helped her by not giving her those extensions. Hair also takes time in between sessions to relax and build itself back up. I understand it can be incredibly disappointing not getting the result you want, especially when it comes to hair, but I think she should've walked into the appointment with realistic expectations and not high hopes due to the amount of damage. But I guess that's expected when you fry your hair multiple times with no knowledge of the damage it would cause. I have been getting blonde highlights my whole life and one summer dyed my hair dark dark brown. Then wanted to go back to blonde. I had to wait in between sessions because my hair simply could not lighten enough in one session and handle the bleach. It's just a reality of hair. I also think the comments on her video got to her. I think she honestly liked it after she got used to it, but after the comments came flooding in, she started to believe them and felt encouraged to fuel. We will never know the conversations that went down in the appointment or how long it actually took. It will always be a he said she said disagreement. It should've been a conversation held in private where Taylor could've expressed her grievances about her hair. I will agree that communication should've been expressed on both sides and that she is not at fault for not saying how she truly felt when it was finished. It can be extremely anxiety inducing, especially with a camera in front of your face. I also wonder if Alfredo communicated to her about the damage and what he was able to do after seeing it up close. I will say though that both sides seem disingenuous in their videos. Lastly, it just rubs me the wrong way that she's saying she gave him a chance out of all the other brands that reached out to her. She knows her face will bring in views, it is just bound to happen. Like, those brands reached out to her BECAUSE she looks like Kylie. And those same brands would've done the exact same thing. I think she's only bringing this point up now because she doesn't like the result. But if you didn't want the exploitation, then go to a regular salon? But she didn't. She went on an all expenses paid trip with free styling. I enjoy your videos Angelika and glad to see different viewpoints!

i thought her hair looked pretty and she definitely didnt have an upset face like she did in her original video to get here there. The minute you hate a haircut you're trying to hold back tears, especially if you want to people please and not ask them to do even MORE because you're unhappy. I've had this happen plenty of times and had to have my dad bring me back in and ask them to kindly help me out lol. My mom had gotten damaged hair from bleach and a botched perm over the years, and she had damaged screwed up hair for literally 10 something years. She refused to cut her hair as short as it needed to be to let the damage all get cut off to finally let the healthy hair grow past, and as such no matter how many times she went in for a cut it just stayed fried, her hair was very unhappy, and she never got the actual BULK of the damaged hair cut that wasn't growing out. It wasn't until she had to have brain surgery and get her hair shaved that it has finally grown back shiny, soft, and healthy. She literally would pull out CLUMPS of hair from her scalp when trying to softly brush it, damaging hair is extremely finicky and hard to work with, and to be putting extension on that? It looks great for what it is, especially since it covers so much damage and is light on her scalp to promote healthier growth for her poor hair. Hair weighs a lot and pulling it down with the weight, like if she were to wash her hair, definitely could prove to be much harsher for her already extremely weak hair.

While Taylor is beautiful I think there is nothing wrong with her admitting she was not happy with the end results she is entitled to her opinion and she asked for something and just admitted Alfredo didn’t do what she asked or what they had initially agreed on. Also Alfredo is a big hairstylist, he should be able to handle both constructive criticism, and sometimes having a client who is not happy with his work , that is part of the job on occasion and Taylor did state she didn’t want a bob and he didn’t listen. And i do think Taylor was grateful for the experience and trying to stay positive but it she realized it was better to share that she felt unheard and used.

Honestly, her hair was so damaged, there's no way it would have been strong enough for the long extensions she wanted. Cosmetology is a science, not magic. I personally think what began this fiasco is the herd mentality of all the comments in the beginning, that was making fun of the initial outcome after Alfredo and his team worked on her hair. The comment section recommended him to her, and then they turned their back on Alfredo after the collective audience of Tiktok did not approve of the look. I feel like Taylor probably did like the look at first, but then the comment section got to her and made her change her mind immediately because she is so impressionable. But all in all, this could have been avoided if she watched Brad Mondo bleach fail videos to know what not to do when bleaching at home ~

I went to a hairdresser I am never ever going back to. First I had to choose what I wanted at my appointment at home when I booked my appointment, which makes sense, but my hairdresser hadn't even bothered to look at it, and was all like 'what do you want?' when I arrived. Like you fill out all of this information including your name and exact time you are to arrive and yet she didn't seem to have any idea who I was and what I had booked. She was stand offish, and barely talked to me the entire time, plus I was like the only customer in there when I arrived, and yet she was still 5 minutes late. edit: You can see how uncomfortable Taylor looks when Andrea is doing her make-up. Also how tone deaf do you have to be to give the client who says they don't want to look like Kylie a make-up look inspired by Kylie.

Tbh I think there is a possibility that hair stylists and other professions where the service can be classified as an art tend to get very defensive over their work and don’t realize that people have a hard time saying to someone that they don’t like what they got. I have paid for horrrrible hair a few times and the one time I felt validated enough to complain it ended up being a huge deal and I got refunded but still never got my $80 tip back but did get attacked verbally by the hair stylist
@XOChristianaNicole
@XOChristianaNicole 3 ай бұрын
Paying for a service you weren’t happy for and ultimately requesting a refund is one thing.. That’s why stylists tend to give a 1-2 week window, for a client to come back. Which, I can see why a salon would be hesitant to give a refund - vs. attempting to correct the service, first. It’s really a client by client basis, for most. However, expecting the stylist to give you the $80 tip you VOLUNTARILY gave them, even when you weren’t happy, is rather ludicrous. Tipping is highly appreciated - though, not mandatory. We’re not restaurant servers. Though, of course, receiving any sort of disrespect or backlash from the stylist is highly inappropriate, in any regard - and of course, only reinforces the stigma that causes people to be afraid of speaking up, when they don’t like something. I’m a former cosmetologist, and have been physically assaulted, when going back into a nail shop, wanting a refund or my nails fixed - and when everything happened, a few days before, they were so rude they made me cry, while it was my birthday and I was receiving from surgery. Though, I still got my nails fixed. I am very hesitant to go get my nails professionally done. So, again, I understand where you are coming from.

Like that’s just spitting and stomping all over her boundaries! Like seriously, no one would stand for him giving someone a shitty nickname, or worse deadnaming someone, so why should she accept him calling her by another name? Ridiculous. Also he ignored all the inspo pics, like even if he did give her some short extensions for volume, she wanted LONG HAIR and I think everyone hears extensions and thinks long hair. He didn’t want to use them because he wouldn’t get paid, but honestly also because it plays into the Kylie Jenner look and clickbait which once again, is gross behaviour.

I should've explained to her that the color is going to fade patchy, putting extensions to cut them absolutely makes sense. We do it all the time to add body and fullness. Which in her case if her hair is breaking, that makes perfect sense. I don't think that he should have came for her? Berating somebody online for doing a make up look that isn't totally flattering is not it and it's just going to make every single person in that situation Feel like shit. I do redos ALL the time. So, hair extensions are a bad idea when hair is super damaged. What I would have done is get a pixie cut to get rid of ALL the damage at once. Once the hair grows out from the pixie cut, then I'd do extensions to get that length back. I don't think Kylie has done a pixie cut, so it would also help with not getting compared to her.

Unpopular opinion but being a people pleaser is nothing you can't grow out of or get better from. I used to do the same at the hair dresser and ruin my whole day. Then I started saying things like "Hmm I don't know if it is what I had in mind" and not once did they not try and fix it for me. In my opinion she's also sketchy. She alleges all these things about payment and such but she's accusing him of undisclosing sponsorships, which is a law offense if true. Idk the hair is shit but her failing to stand her ground in a COLLABORATION is also not someone else's fault.

Oh that makeover was NOT it. I’ve seen way more basic hair fixes that looked much better. And thank you for saying that being famous on social media is not the same as being talented at an art/service. Because real talk!!!

the one time I told a hairdresser I didn't like it was to my sister who is a hairdresser, I cried and let her know bc she's also my sister I assumed shed understand... nope She now refuses to do my hair and didn't talk to me for weeks, so I go elsewhere for it. (id like to add this was 2 weeks after my grandma passed so quite literally anything made me cry lmao, and I was a little upset about going to her funeral with brassy hair, it was supposed to be beach blonde vibes) so I 100% understand why Taylor didn't say anything at the time, its an uncomfortable experience.

Regardless of who’s side anyone is on, or the story behind why things went the way they did.. With her hair condition - there wasn’t much else he could do, than what he did (other than extensions and much better colour placement/tone). Yes, perhaps he could have done extensions, though, she did said she didn’t have the money for extensions, in the first place - that would imply she wouldn’t have the money to maintain them (she said she couldn’t afford them - I am going off her words, not her social media followers/analytics). So, I can see, from a professional stand point, being a former stylist, myself - why they wouldn’t want to give her a service/hairstyle based around extensions; especially, with how damaged her hair is. To blend into extensions, the integrity of her hair and length would have to be HIGHLY compromised, due to texturizing - hence why her hair was rather blunt, in the final style. To maintain integrity of immensely vulnerable hair. Yes, it’s a bit Y2K Kelly Clarkson, though, what they did on her was the most practical and sustainable result, for a solid, healthy grow out - especially, if she isn’t a person who tends to regularly get her hair professionally serviced. HOWEVER. Something is very off, about him and the whole situation. So, even though I can see why the final result was the most practical choice, objectively speaking (again, despite the poor colour placement and tone. I am meaning keeping her on the dark side and giving her a bluntish bob)- I have no doubt there is waaaaaay more to the story.

Reading your comment, I wonder if he had gotten a sponsorship, he would have given her the longer extensions despite knowing she wouldn’t have been able to maintain them (cost-wise). That part of the situation seems like it was lose-lose from the get go!

The amount of times I've gone to a hairdresser with reference photos on my phone that they can look at DURING the process to make sure they're doing exactly what I want but then they do their own thing. Plus the reference photos I've used for my last like 5 or so haircuts have been of GUYS which is what I wanted but then they go and feminize it in their own preference. I'm non-binary and was wanting a more masculine looking hair style but kept being giving feminized versions. Like I was literally showing reference photos of Michael freakin Clifford or random emo/scene guys from google because I wanted that shaggy/messy hair style they have. But did I ever complain? Even when my hair was cut so short it was basically flat to my head which was nowhere near what I wanted bc I've never wanted legit short pixie cut hair? No. I thanked them. Tipped them. And went home and wondered how I'd fix it or cover it until my hair grew longer. And thought about how much I looked like a damn thumb.

Well when the hair is so damaged that the cuticle is left open, it’s hard to get pigment to stick. Also, I wouldn’t be putting extensions into someone’s hair that has 0 structural integrity, that’s just asking for more breakage. Fuck around and find out 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also, if you can’t afford extensions, that’s no one’s issue but yours. Honestly, this girl’s hair is fried like a churro, she’s lucky that they could keep it in a bob & not have to cut more damage off the sides. She’s had unrealistic expectations & that’s her fault

Unpopular opinion,As a person who has fried their hair off I'll have to agree with the hairdresser. As much as she wanted long extensions, it would significantly damage her hair further. I know its disappointing to hear (cause been there done that) but It's a miracle she still has hair on her head and did get everything done for free.

but that wasn’t the reason he didn’t do extensions, he didn’t do extensions bc the brand he wanted to use didn’t want to pay him for promo despite the fact he did have extensions on hand at the salon he could’ve used, and that wasn’t communicated in the exchange prior to her making the trip

@@LifeOfTheAngelsYou eat up everything she says I can tell. No, he didn't do extensions bc her hair wouldn't take it, she also couldn't afford it (she said). Maybe he didn't state that properly, but that would be the indefinite truth.

I got my nails done at a beauty college one time because the salon I usually go to was closed. The girl who did them was so sweet and kind but 3 of the nails fell off that same night. I couldn't bring myself to complain because she was so sweet . A few months later I ran into her and she asked me how I liked the nails I said they were great . Only because I didn't want to be mean . But the nails sucked . So I totally understand how this girl feels about her hair

Seems like an unpopular opinion, but i honestly think they're both wrong. If youre going to offer to do something, even if it's free, then you should still do a good job at it. Especially if it reflects your brand/business. On the other hand, it's not like she went in completely unknowingly thinking she was getting extensions. He told her prior to that it wasn't going to happen. She can absolutely still be disappointed she wasn't getting the hair they initially talked abour or that she wanted, but she's almost acting like he hacked her hair off. Also, she didn't pay him. Even if he profited. I don't know why that part aggravates me so much, but she didn't pay him. She appeared in her video. And while I think collabs should be 100% mutual and not one-sided (hence the word collab), he's not really wrong for having "used" her for views. That's essentially what collabs have become these days with influencers. Which, in her own words, this was a collab. So while, again, no one should feel EXPLOITED since collabs should be mutual, and his alleged behavior is terrible, it's not wrong to think her presence would have been "used" for views the same way her doing a response video tagging him and saying she loved it was also for views. But you presence is not a payment. It's a collaboration. His consequential profit is also not you paying him. It's just as it sounds - consequences from the collab and good marketing.

It’s very annoying people bringing up that he got paid by the brands. It was free TO HER ! I’m sure no one wants to work for free no matter what job they’re doing, so was he not supposed to get paid one way or another ? She got a free trip, makeover, new hair, and I’m sure plenty of products.
