As an Irishman I can tell you without doubt WILD MOUNTAIN THYME is not only super offensive but also one of the WORST movies I've ever watched.

I didn't even care that much about the Irish accents, I wasn't offended by that what annoyed me more was where the hell was the plot? what the hell was happening?! Most of the characters died off screen and I had no idea who anybody was

Just watched this. I've grown 3 new frown lines. Total bafflement. Did no one who took a part in it realise how bad it is? It's not even bad funny. By the time the honeybee line came out I was past caring.

Thank you so much. Just watched this film and thought I’d gone mad. Your review made me laugh more than I have all year. Spot on 🐝 NB I thought the film was awful but it was so bad I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s got to the point it’s so bad it may have become my favourite film of all time. It’s like The Happening where everything is so off and so miscast and so poorly written and directed it’s a thing of brilliance.

I watched this movie after a really bad day at work and laughed me hole off the whole way through. Just not for the reasons they would have wanted

Same, laughed the whole way through. The part where he says he's a bee I was laughing so much I had to rewind a couple of times to see if I missed something 😂

Wow. Think of all the good that might have been done with $5.5M, but instead they handed it over to get this P.O.S made! How is it possible that so many people working in the film industry these days have not a single clue how to make a good movie??

That's one of the major problems with the film industry right now, it's an oversaturated market with a lot of filmmakers who are in it to make money not to make good movies. Everyone thinks they can make a great movie but few can. Everyone and Anyone can tell a story but only a talented few a tell a great story.

@@KarlsMovieFilmShow Agree 100%. I'm trying to make it as a writer [novels, not movies] and I'm riddled with doubts as to whether I can tell great stories. I wish a few more in the movie industry had similar doubts. It feels like there are a lot of people stepping up with absolute confidence that actually don't have what it takes. What a shame.

Just watched this film last night. Wow. I think you give them a lot of credit with the tax discs depicting the year. I think they just forget to take them off the car 😂

Aw sure and begorrah, t'was awfully critical of yourself to be bashing on a fine film, so t'was, to be sure to be sure. Why an excellent actress of Emily Blunt's calibre would get involved with such a pile of audio-visual scutter, I don't know. It has all the hallmarks of a clueless fantasist, reminiscing about "de Old Country" they clearly never knew. I mean seriously, the paddy-whackery is so severely cringe inducing that it could snap your spine at 50 paces. Top of the morning to y'all.

Audio-visual scutter is the a phenomenal way to describe this movie! 😂 The only thing missing from this film was an actual Leprechaun coming along to magically fix all there problems and actually turn the fella into a real bee! 😂

I watched it because I heard Emily Blunt's beautiful voice sing WILD MOUNTAIN THYME. However, I thought Jamie Dornan's character as an issue in having a relationship with Emily Blunt's character is simply ridiculous and ruined the movie, *as for the accuracy of the times did not bother me ... it was cute, funny, tearful, and perfect till you find out why or what his problem is ... in my opinion, it was a waste of time to watch, just down-right stupid.

Uh, what are you on about? The movie is rather bad and corny, I agree, but it's not trying to be a realistic depiction of the Irish. Also it's obviously meant to be funny and sad, like life is funny and sad. Me think's you are to harsh, maith fear.

The film 100% is trying to be a " realistic depiction of the Irish". In talking about the film the director even said "I’m making this movie for everybody else and all the people who want to go to Ireland." (Here's a full article on that interview: www.independent.ie/entertainment/movies/im-not-making-this-for-the-irish-wild-mountain-thyme-director-rejects-critics-39852184.html) The film was heavily criticized and mocked here in Ireland when the very first trailer came out for the film for the awful accents. Also just for your own benefit, it's maith an fear not maith fear 👍

@@KarlsMovieFilmShow Why are you so rattled by the accents? And the director is right that it will make all that see it want to go to Ireland. The miss on accents in movies is usual. I'm from Norway and do you think I'm gonna go into melt down and think solely about accents every time a movie is situated there? And also, maybe you are not so maith. Just someone with a stick up his arse.
