Thing about Yellow is it's supposed to put you completely in the shoes of Ash. As an Ash Copycat, it made my first journey that much more enjoyable

I agree that the second generation pokemon felt special back then. Both in the games and anime. I mean I remember and I still have that issue of Beckett Pokémon magazine that had those bootleg looking illustrations of all the new pokemon. And that you were essentially walled off from using them until post game was not a great move. I wanted houndoom. I also remember when my silver save died. I had over 400 hours on that save. I was so close to losing it.
