I really enjoy playing the pokemon tcg nothing is better then a good pokemon card pack opening if the pokemon cards are worth money its even better. getting into a pokemon card battle is also fun. Of course playing the pokemon tcg is my forte! like how to build a pokemon deck and playing the pokemon tcg online is how I spend most of my evenings. Pokemon tcg tournament are also great and if you even need any help on how to play the pokemon tcg then let me know! Dont forget you can also open pokemon tcg pack online too! Ive never got to open packs with leonhart or randolph but hopefully will soon! Not pokemon vgc pokemon vgc online or pokemon tcg world championships. Building pokemon decks is very fun! watching other deck profiles and deck lists is very helpful

Another tip for my fellow players that hate net decking. Find an archetype you want to play, look at a bunch of lists, spend a day thinking about the cards in the deck, why they’re there and why the players chose certain cards over others. Then, try to build a variation of the deck yourself the next day on your own. That helps me get past the net deck thing while still more or less providing the same result.

Last Minute changes really kill you... Even something as minor as changing a heavy ball for a second sabeleye without testing it, while a good change on paper, will throw you off in tournament

I’ve got a friend who will absolutely never net decks which is admirable, but he definitely loses more than he wins. I think this video will be super helpful ^^

Also building a new archetype is really rewarding but to make it work it takes a lot of time. Lists on limitless are rarely perfect, unless it's something like lugia or mew, so you can still shine by improving an existing archetype. Think back to how big a deal it was when tord played golisopod with 4 tapu lele back in 2018, literally changed the tcg forever even though the archetype was there already

This was a fantastic video my friend! I've been playing for almost two years now and you touch on many points. Consistency and it's hierarchy in deckbuilding, counters, etc. Thank you very much this was so very helpful! Appreciate your hard work on these. I can use a Lugia, Mew or Lost Box deck that’s well-built, but if I don’t know how to play it, my head will still get handed to me in a basket for quite some time before I figure out the deck mechanics!

Great video as always man, I saw the thumbnail and was nervous that I would suffer some emotional damage from having all these flaws torn apart lol. Luckily I don't do any of these bad habits so I am safe for another day. Keep up the amazing work man, your videos are always a blast to watch.

I think it is important to remember when net decking that you don't need to conform 100% with the list. You can make substitutions and really make a deck yours. This applies to all tcgs really. One of the most fun things is to see a deck and see an alternate route you can take it that, while similar, will act differently than the standard list but still execute itself well.

Great video! I agree with so much even as a new player. However I would recommend to anyone to not rebuild net decks but more study them and general archetypes and options there are at your disposal. Playing meta is fine and all, but the most bland way to enjoy the games full potential. I play a Wobbuffet Combo Deck at our locals right now and while I'm only winning maybe half the time, the fun I had is way beyond I was experiencing before. It contains some of my favorite Pokémon which is also a huge part when it comes to winning or losing. It feels like it is Your team, making losing way less annoying than with a random meta you didn't put any thought, heart or soul into. Yeah it won't get you far in big tournaments, but it will help you enjoy and learn the game in a more personal way!

My friends play expanded and I want to make an iron valiant deck that uses sivally gx to switch a lot. Does that seem good?

There's probably enough switching cards and tools like float stone so i don't think silvally is needed tbh!

I'm new to TCG and I've definitely noticed some mistakes in my deck building. My first grass deck ended up having mostly V, VMAX, and VStar Pokemon. Which sounded good until I realized that's 2 prize cards for my opponent when I get knocked out. I've currently built a Temporal Forces deck that looks pretty promising. I'm doing a psychic and electric with a dragon type as my main. I'll probably learn its weaknesses as I go. But really I like the whole process of figuring out what works.

Hey there, I hope you do well on your deck. I want to suggest some advice if you're hearing this out. Since your ace Pokémon is Dragon type, you would have to get as much energy of different types quickly as possible. If you can get it, I recommend you get the card "Earthen Vessel". It's legal and it allows you to add 2 energies of any kind to your hand for the price of one. If you can't, then you might as well must find an alternative card that can get the necessary energies needed to your hand. Good luck on your journey, trainer!

Its much easier to patch up the flaws in your deck than it is to take advantage of your opponent's flaws. For example, my Zero-prize Hisuian Zoroark deck in expanded had trouble dealing with tools, special energies, and abilites that allow free retreating. I added a few Enhanced Hammers and Tool Scrappers to deal with the first two, making the final scenario easier to play around.

My personal advice for those that are starting to build their own decks is focus on a win condition or how do you want to play your deck, which Pokémon do you want to be the main attacker? Do you want to deck out your opponent? Try to focus more on how you can play your deck and focus less on how can I do everything at once. Because even with 60 cards, there only so much you can do. Good luck on your journey, trainers.

My deck uses Mimikyu vmax, the mimikyu from lost origin, gallade from astral radiance, and old cemetery from chilling reign The strategy is to get damage counters on the all the opponent's pokemon with mimikyu vmax and old cemetary using gallade to get acerola's premonition then use the normal mimikyu to do big damage. I haven't played this against anyone other than my younger brother so could someone tell me if this deck is good, just ok, or bad?

I like the idea! Gallade works well and does old cemterary! But if you ever wanted to try compete at local events i feel like it might be a little bit too slow to compete! Although in saying that with low hp evolving pokemon entering the format maybe this deck can do okay :)

I think the biggest mistake I made when I first started, was I always heard the term “One Prize Attacker”, so I would always put a random basic Pokémon like Meditite or Pikachu, or any other evolving 1-for-10 card, just because I had an empty slot or 2 in my deck and I didn’t have a “Single Prize Attacker”…

I pinky promise I won’t do it again lol but at 11:30 PM before Peoria regionals I swapped from Regis to Palkia Vstar inteleon and I got top 32 so it’s not always a terrible idea to swap your deck (though I did lost games Regis would have won and before the regional I’d played zero games of palkia so probably don’t do what I did)

Path to the Peak is really all you need to counter. It stalls all major meta decks. The rest of your deck should be focused around your decks strengths

@@BurtsPTCGpersonally I wasn't referring to lost zone decks because I rarely have an issue with them. Garitina is the only version of those decks worth playing IMO and turns take entirely too long to do a whole bunch of nothing lol so PATH might not do much but now KLEFKI (the pokemon version of path) will stall them the same way.

Another classic mistake people make is no, your homebrew does not break the meta. If it did someone much smarter and much better looking than you would have already built that list haha That being said theres nothing wrong with making your own deck for fun so long as you dont expect to win that event 😊
