People don’t like Ezio in AC2? I thought his character was one of the strongest parts of the game, and he 100% does have character development. Things like his speech in sequence 13 as well as sparing Rodrigo show this. I always thought the weakest part of AC2 is the DLC sequences, they throw the pacing off
@EzioAltairist
@EzioAltairist Жыл бұрын
The speech is cool, but, in my opinion, it felt a little random. Through the whole story Ezio is just going after his enemies and killing, there was no conflict of ideals or development of character, and suddenly he becomes an idealist. Besides, it also troubles me how immediately he accepts changing his whole way of life by accepting to follow the creed. It's not that I don't like Ezio, but I feel Altair had much more development than him. But it's a good game anyway.

I'm super upset the Arno character wasn't extended into further games, like Ezio. Arno was supposed to be the second coming of Ezio and Ubisoft failed him miserably. biggest L take iver ever heard. AC4 is one of if not the best ac game with some of the best character development i have ever seen. Rogue was only good bc it was built upon AC4. the story was short and misleading. the assassins in the game didnt act like assassins rather just re skinned templars. no real development either with shay mainly bc of how short the game is. his turn to the templars (btw a massive part of the plot) happened so quickly. he turned bc of the earthquake is lisbon but we only spent about five minutes there so as a player had no real connection to the place or the people and relating to his anger over what happened with the earthquake isnt rly reciprocated to us as the player. Overall if it was a full fledge game could of been amazing but it wasnt so its not and doesn't remotely come close to AC4

I think that Arno got his redemption arc with the Dead Kings DLC, because he wasn't tied down by Elise anymore, and you see him pick himself up and move forward after grieving for her loss. Also, I was actually shocked you called AC Origins' side-quests bad. I thought they were amazing. AC Origins is the first game where I actively searched for side-quests to do. The storylines of some of them are basic, but others have very interesting narratives that either give a deeper view into Bayek as a person, and how he is, morally, but also how the world is affected by the consequences of his actions. Hell, there is literally a mission that starts with you simply being tasked to kill some seemingly mundane bandit leader, only to find out after his death he was a bloody SAGE.
@ItsDazYT
@ItsDazYT Жыл бұрын
Yeah the Dead Kings DLC definitely allowed Arno to grow more as a character, which I’m glad they decided to do, since Elise dies at the very end and we didn’t get to see much of how Arno changes at the end of the main storyline. Also, I didn’t say Origins’ side quests were bad, but rather underwhelming, and I also defended it by saying some of the mini narratives were interesting. I’m not really a side quest guy, and I even sometimes avoid side quests in games in general, so of course some bias was involved. Thanks for commenting💪👍

I pretty much agree with everything, especially with origin being "the beginning of the end", and not just the combat, as a whole. The game and the story were great, bayek is an amazing character, and the period during which it takes place is fantastic. But once I saw the level system and the new combat, I was really disappointed. On another topic, I kind of wish they did a remake of AC1, just adding more side content. The repetitivity of the missions actually (imo) helped make the game more immersive. You were an assassin, that needed to research and kill people. It made going the extra mile to get more details about your target worth it and, once again imo, very immersive. But yeah, the game's a fucking horror to play on PS3 with constant fps drops even in the lowest resolution. Very great vid, hope you get a lot of visibility as it feels very professional.

@@ItsDazYT plus you're just completely wrong about rogue.... anyone who has a black and white mindset would say this about rogues story on a surface level but that's not the case for Assassin's Creed in general.... i could write a whole bible on the conflict between the assassin's and templars and how both within their games have shown to not be black and white except for AC2 with complete evil templars as well as brotherhood, syndicate and origins.... but with that said just because in those games the templars are evil... doesn't mean that the assassin's are good... AC2 has elements of greyness with the assassin's but the writers just seemed like thry couldn't fully explore this and has horrible writing accompanying it.... like the hanging of francesco, that seems like it wouldve had consequences for ezio because of what mario taught ezio about respecting the dead... i think at this point you'd get the idea but if you want to ask more about it then go ahead but I can't be bothered right now so ill go

@@godzillazfriction I guess you can look much deeper within the stories to understand them that way, but most casual players will just see what’s on the surface level and make an opinion, if the writers don’t make something very clear on the surface level, they cannot expect all players to understand real, underlying meanings of the stories. Also I don’t think someone’s opinion based on how they interpreted something can be ‘completely wrong’ as it’s subjective.

@@ItsDazYT well thinking that assassin's creed is all black and white is just wrong especially since this is a fictional story based on real humans or just history... which is why i said those things on my previous comment... look at ac rogue, sure its a flip and switch and seems like a reverse but those players just say that because of AC2 and how AC2 clouded their minds and i am not joking which is why seeing assassin's creed as black and white is just wrong but anyways AC rogue is basically about assassin's being bad which if you were following the games, ever since AC1 the assassin's are also bad guys or morally grey just as the templars... the quote 'nothing is true, everything is permitted' has different meanings to each person including mentors like Al Mualim who worked in the shadows so that he can use the piece of eden from himself and isn't until altair who started a bad person to a thoughtful morally righteous person because of the ppl that he killed as well as his own idealogies that developed through his redemption and changes the Assassin's Creed once he's taken in charge which is why you see the glorified assassin's in AC2 but none of this matters because many ppl will just go along with the surface level of AC2s story but this change did basically nothing as you can see with the colonial brotherhoods such as achilles' and mackandals.... now with rogues story, the assassin's are not like templars and templars are not like assassin's..... at what point in assassin's creed have the templars go such lengths to destroying citys... none because the templars do not thrive on chaos like the assassin's do.... all throughout the games, the assassin's have been the ones who cause the most chaos especially ezio, who by the time in revelations is tired and seems like the creed is only moving one direction towards 'chaos' and this is reflected from ezios behaviour and actions, he disrespected the first templar target that you kill, he didn't exile an master assassin who killed an innocent but killed a traitor even though that traitor had good intentions, he caused the greek fire which shows ezios disregard for anyone around him and later explodes an underground city and causes many innocent deaths as well as not caring or showing any remorse for his actions in the game whereas in the novel, ezio feels bad for causing many innocent deaths but thought it was necessary to kill one templar target... onto rogue and it is shown that this is what the assassin's do, you might think that them showing assassin insignias throughout everyone to see are one of the examples that the assassin's are not assassin's that some ppl thought but how about the assassin insignias where ezio puts on towers in brotherhood or revelations.... also the reasoning for putting up having assassin forts and headquarters is because the colonial brotherhood are that desperate to defeat the templars that they practically done it and with the accompany of the french, the templars and the British can't do anything.... there is no black and white in rogue because the french that assassin's work with have slaves and the assassin's not too long ago saved those slaves from the french which goes to my argument before that the assassin's are too desperate to defeat the templars.... Lawrence washington is a templar and a slave master... yet noone wants to recall that.... the templars give out good points against shay because that's proper templars do

Really? The thing I liked least about III was the hand-holding. That game was exruciating, and you had to finish everything the exact right way. Unity forces you to upgrade your gear, and stick with the gear that's upgraded. So if you save up to get something good, you have no point of buying anything else with the in-game currency. I also have not had any better experience with the parkour in that game than in most games in the franchise. Arno still stops when it seems like he should keep going, goes in the wrong direction, doesn't care about camera position too much, and sticks to things when you want him to let go of. Trying to get him to go down a simple hole is exhausting. He won't even enter windows when you press the button prompt when it's on screen!

My problem with ACIII is it takes fucking FOREVER to actually be playing Connor, yk, an Assassin. It's such a drawn-out, boring origin story. Then with AC Odyssey and Valhalla, they just aren't Assassin's Creed games. Odyssey, minus DLC, has NOTHING to do with Assassin's Creed whatsoever because the Brotherhood doesn't exist. Valhalla has a cameo from Assassins, but Eivor doesn't become an Assassin. Decent video, respect for highlighting the multiplayer. I never liked MP games, but AC's multi draw me in like nothing else, it was so novel. I'd list my problems with each game too, since I'm a fan since 2007: AC1 - the repeptitiveness of the investigations before main missions AC2 - When the combat slows down because there's an enemy that has too much health and parries a lot. ACB - The main quest is very short ACR - the grenade crafting was promoted so much, but after all turned out to be a gimmick AC3 - starting as Haytham set the bar too high that Connor couldn't reach. Black Flag - I get it, sailing and pirating. But the land locations the cities barely had anything memorable Rogue - the map is pretty big, but barely used, I bet you only visit 1/3rd during the story Unity - Very promising in all aspect, but all turned out to be janky, yes even the parkour, don't let those cool videos fool you. And despite the interesting time period the story turned out really bland. Syndicate - I know it's historical this way, but combat having only knives, fists and the cane sword is really boring. Origins - Having to sidetrack to gather resources for gear upgrades distract a lot from the actual game (seriously, try it on NG+, so much better) Odyssey - Personally I had no problems, I caught on quick. But there should have been a clear sign or tutorial that bounty board and random npc quests are random generated, and not actual side quests. I bet the game lost a lot of people with that. Valhalla - the fact that I tried it on a free weekend, and got bored after like 3 hours. (I already had concerns when I heard the setting and time period, just didn't fit the AC feel)

AC1: Repetitiveness, and kinda dated controls. AC2: No mission replay, in the game that contends for the top spot the most often largely because of the story. Not being able to load back into the final mission to fist fight the pope again is just flat out depressing. AC:Brotherhood: The game was near perfect, but the fact that defensively, the only way to dehorse an enemy was with a medium weapon sucked. The Romulus tombs were also meh. AC:Revelations: The defense minigames, especially since they were required to unlock the Sword of Altair, requiring atleast 3 full defenses. And you could accidentally lock yourself out of them by maxing out the den masters. AC3: We didn't get enough of Connor's more gentle and kind side in the main game. The homestead content proves Connor is far more than just an angry killing machine. You can even see him genuinely show happiness, and having him actively helping his community makes his dedication to his work as an Assassin much more meaningful. Coming off of an entire trilogy of the Charismatic, wise, and constantly maturing Ezio, I wholeheartedly believe there should have been atleast twice as much homestead content, and it should have been atleast partially mandatory. AC4: So many tailing missions. Just. F*cking. Why? They are the easiest Tailing missions in the series thanks to the extremely powerful Eagle Vision wall hack marking, and make up a significant portion of land missions (and technically 2 sailing missions too). The biggest challenge is not getting bored to death by them. AC: Rogue: The conflict is very forced with the Assassin's having to shut off all logical thought to push Shay in the Direction they did. The Assassin ambushes are interesting at first but quickly become predictable and tedious. Being boarded was nowhere near the threat they hyped it up to be given how rare and easy to beat such instances were. Also, not having a proper fight against Liam at the end. Seriously, the trailers hyped up Liam as being a significant part of the story, especially the one where he narrates about Shay. The confrontational voiceover we got between them in the trailers ended up just being his final words as he died. We get a mediocre chase, and either a 10 second basic fight or an attempted air assassination, both of which end in a cliff tumble being what kills him. AC: Unity: Elise, while likeable, holds Arno's development back, and I think that 2 more main sequences after she dies, with a minor re-write so the main plot continues, would have been much better. AC: Syndicate: Jacob's half of the story is the weakest part of the game besides the extremely weak combat, he doesn't really face any real development until late in the game, where it feels a bit rushed as a result. AC: Origins: My biggest gripe with Origins is that the thing they got the most right about the combat (enemies not being super tanks) is the one thing they didn't carry over to Odyssey. The game's story is at the very least, linked to the Assassins, and wraps up with the early prototype for the brotherhood as we knew it in the old games begining to form. AC:Odyssey: The vast majority of the side content feels like it's trying way too hard to be funny, and thus, lacks alot of entertainment value, most enemies take alot of damage to kill, to the point at which small groups of moderately tough enemies, or just 1 or 2 low end Mercenaries can be a tedious 10 minute slog. The map isn't fun to explore, the naval gameplay sucks, and the Story makes Syndicate look like a masterpiece by comparison. It is barely even Assassin's Creed. AC: Valhalla: I couldn't even raise my expectations enough to be disappointed. Odyssey, and especially Valhalla feel more like a completely seperate IP that was poorly merged with AC somewhere around halfway through development. Were it it's own unique thing, it'd be passable. But it's wearing the Assassin's Creed brand, and feels the least like an Assassin's Creed Game, tied with Odyssey

The worst thing about AC1 is actually how almost unplayable it is on pc. The game controls and gnaw okay was clearly made with only console in mind and as such AC1 is so much more harder to play on pc than console, especially with how painful it is changing movement speeds, and especially with the painfully slow hands held walking that you have to do to avoid detection. This isn’t an issue in future titles including AC2

The worst thing in Unity is the combat in my opinion. Killing 1 guy is easy, but if you encounted with 5 guys there are starting to use pistols which is really hard to counter it. And its deals damage as hell. Unity is a true Stealth game and thats not a problem, but if you compare the combat to other ACs its imidiantly became ....

Unity is more realistic. You can kill 40 people and take over an entire galleon in Black Flag by only doing the two button combo to counter attack. That’s laughably easy. Even trained people would find fighting 10 dudes simultaneously difficult. That’s the point. Unity wanted to incentivize you to be stealthy. There’s no incentive for stealth in any game since 2014.

The combat was much better in Valhalla than Odyssey imo, less spongey ennemies, weapons feel more impactful (hard to really describe, it might be the feedback or again ennemies not taking 50 hits to kill), it just feels way more visceral and less janky, not to mention you have a lot more options in the weapons you use since you can dual wield most of them However the parkour is probably the worst in the series and the stealth is still kinda janky (tho being able to actually kill people in stealth in cool even if it makes a chunk of the mess of a skill tree useless)

Worst thing about Black Flag was the tailing missions yup. The worst one was the "follow the ship" mission. god how dumb that was LOL As for Rogue? The game dried out after you finish the campaign, naval exploration and map exploration isn't fun. There's less territories to fight and conquer. Unity? Man where do u even start, coop was a let down. It threw out the decision for the player to select their hidden blade as a weapon and made it stealth only. Enemies felt so, common and frequent they got boring to fight, every enemy could combat roll perfectly and evade hits like they were masters at fencing and so on I miss AC3's level of combat. I don't want to see it in AC Red

⚠️WARNING, LONG RANT INCOMING!⚠️ AC1: I found it very boring to be honest. graphics were phenomenal for the time but the parkour was slow and clunky and the missions were repetitive. I did love the setting and Altaïr remains my favorite Assassin, despite his american accent and bland personality. AC2: AC2 improves on alot of the problems AC1 had, the parkour got much much better with quicker climbing and an interesting story for desmond, which AC1 lacked. But obviously you couldn't replay the missions and Ezio felt kind of like a Mary-Sue. Other than those two things I think it's a great game with alot of good improvements for the series on Ubisoft's end. AC Brotherhood: It'll be hard to think of something bad about Brotherhood but I'd have to say the visual bugs/issues like how Ezio's cape clips with his shoulder constantly when you're running, forcing you to just make him wear a cape that is the same as his outfit's primary color or wear a different outfit entirely. Which is where I get to the next bug.. Outfits fuck with the missions where Ezio changes outfits so during the missions where Ezio Disguises himself and also during the suit up scene near the beginning, he'll just wear whatever outfit you equipped which ruins the whole "Disguise" thing. AC Revelations: I enjoy this game the most out of the Ezio Trilogy. It is so fun and it is set in one of if not my favorite city in history, but it feels kinda barebones and the story's definitely too short, but Ezio has drip so it's alright LOL AC3: Connor was a pretty good character, I do like his personality despite the criticisms and issues people had with it. The setting's nowhere near as good as AC1, AC2, Brotherhood, or Revelations but it's solid and very enjoyable. HOWEVER Naval missions were fucking unbearable and you didn't even play as Connor for hours. AC4: I'll decide to be a basic bitch for this game because TAILING MISSIONS ARE SO INCREDIBLY IRRITATING. Don't get me wrong, i love what tailing missions in AC games do, they're sometimes very important to the plot to tell a good story and whatnot but I don't think HALF OF THE FUCKING GAME should be tailing missions. I'm not even going to get started on tailing missions in order to not draw this segment out worse than I did with Brotherhood so let me voice a couple other criticisms and move on. Outside the Animus was just Unbearable.. it was so boring and lackluster I could've sworn I fell asleep while doing those godforsaken segments. It felt like Ubisoft was denying me to get back to the part of the game where there was an actual fucking character to play as rather than a faceless silent generic ass main character. AC Unity: After playing the previous titles the parkour felt very off, despite Unity's parkour objectively being the best. The story is kind of uneventful and Arno is just a fucking simp who's only in it for some revenge story that didn't even feel satisfying when it was finished. And oh how excited I was getting my hands on the sword of eden! It'll be so fun to use the whole laser beam thing to defeat my enemies- oh what's that? THE ANCIENT FUCKING MAGICAL SWORD BROKE? NOT EVEN LIKE BROKE IN HALF, JUST AN ENTIRE FUNCTION CEASED TO EXIST. also the combat animations don't line up half the time though I could say the same for most of the Older games' Sprinting/Air Assassination animations. Rogue is an unfair game to compare to the rest since it's so short and was basically just made to compensate old gen players for not getting Unity. AC Syndicate: Jacob. AC Origins: It was the start of the RPG Games. Great story and great Setting but the combat is abysmal. I liked the addition of Romans and Bayek was a Badass but I really wish they stuck to the old combat and stealth. AC Odyssey: NO HIDDEN BLADE, NO ASSASSIN BROTHERHOOD, NO ASSASSINS CREED, IF WE'RE BEING HONEST. Alexios is boring, the setting sucks ass for parkour, and the amount of ass pulls is pathetic. Like minotaurs and cyclops and shit, what the actual hell were they thinking? You need to unlock perks for the stealth to even be good so what's even the point in the "ASSASSIN" part of the game? AC Valhalla: I liked this game as being a Viking Game, but the Assassin stuff sucked and Eivor being whatever Gender you want rather than there being different characters is just lazy and dumb as all hell. The Graphics were great, the setting was interesting though since odyssey it downgraded parkour-wise, and I might even argue the customization peaked in Valhalla. AC Mirage: I really enjoy this game so far, but Combat is shit and Parkour looks really unnatural. Ubisoft plays the combat off as intentionally difficult to encourage more stealthy gameplay but it is lowkey just dog shit.

I think the grinding and the enormous map is probably what made me not finish Odyssey. That's not to say that it is a bad game. I do think people are a little too harsh on Odyssey, but it definitely shouldn't have been marketed as an Assassin's Creed game. It feels more like a spinoff, I think. A gigantic spinoff. Unity is still my favorite and, as much as I love the whole starcrossed lovers thing they had for Arno and Elise, it would have been nice to see more of Arno after that because he did seem to mature really quickly in Dead Kings and I'm pretty sure he goes through a lot of character development after the main game and the DLC. But that's just the thing: We never get to see it.

The Valhalla playerbase cant really be compared to its predecessors as (from what i could gather) services like psplus allowed people to get it without buyin a full copy plus any form of microtransaction or dlc purchase also adds to the total funds the game made. Rainbow 6 Siege and Far Cry 5 also made them a fortune and sold even more copies with X Defiant probably bein the next product to crack the 1 billion mark. That bein said Far Cry 5 despite bein their all time best seller still changed their formula with New Dawn a trend which they would double down on in FC6 so theres hope that AC will can the crappy RPG mechanics. While i personally despise anything RPG related i can still respect that some people are fans of the Division/Dark Souls approach UBI has taken in recent years so my hopes are that they will add in options to turn these mechanics on or off similar to what they did with GR Breakpoint

The soundtrack was good but very low amount of themes. I also didn't like the 100% synch in this game (only in this game, the very next game had it more enjoyable). One thing that makes Assassin's Creed series so likeable was the fact that it's historically accurate, mostly. AC Brotherhood wasn't. There were a lot of characters that are fully fictional. The take I love most in this video is on AC Rogue because I dont think its been talked about enough. I also agree that the game basically just flipped the narrative: Assassins are bad, Templars are good. Heck even when Shay was an Assassin, most of his comrades treated him like sh*t. And when they did become the targets, we didnt even care about them dying (except Adewale cuz of Black Flag and Freedom Cry). What the writers should have done is show the better perspective of the Templars while retaining the perspective we had with the Assassins, and let the players have a debate on the better side. IMO I think AC3 did a better job of showing the good side of the Templars. We first play as Haytham who was a likable and relatable character in the prologue but is revealed to be a Templar. When we switched to Connor, we still see the reasons why the Templars have so much conviction in their belief as we take down each one of our targets.

Right now I can replay Ac unity as much as I want by just parkouring and doing stealth missions all over again. If I want to listen to the story I would much rather want to listen it on KZfaq instead of while playing it, because I just have the mind to kill enemies every time when I play games much rather than even try to bother listening to the story, all I wanted was just give me a person to kill and I'm fine with that, and that's why I don't find ac 1 too repetitive because that's really all that I want, give me someone to assassinate and I will do it.

Wait a minute.... I've played AC1 a lot and I don't remember these slides or air assassinations...
@ItsDazYT

It’s possible to air assassinate but only off certain obstacles and not any ledges. Also, I think the method of sprinting before jumping simultaneously at your enemy is required, which is a trial and error thing.

@@ItsDazYT I've Heard that there is a way to make "semi-air assassinations" in AC1 but slides on obstacles? How? Teach me

Worst part of origins is you can’t assassinate someone because of a rank

Unity was my least favorite in terms of combat. Janky and people sniping you off the screen. The combat was old and needed some changes people are spongy in odyssey but origins worked well and the combat gave you more liberty just like odyssey and Valhalla. Valhalla had it’s new features in combat with cool finishers but the stamina bar ruined it, and the enemies being quiet weak in attack speed,complexity and damage was a letdown. Fortunately zealots exists and make you enjoy the combat system fully.

I really hope so. But since AC Valhalla was such a success financially with the RPG combat, I can see Ubisoft keeping the combat

@@kynorun5279 I have heard a mixture of things. I think they may limit the RPG combat but not take it away entirely. Ubisoft have confirmed that Mirage will have AC Unity parkour, but they did not say they would have combat like Unity, Brotherhood, etc.

If feel like if you put old combat deadliness with Odyssey then you have a superstar.

True it would make Odyssey an amazing game. But I guess another issue that a lot of people bring up is that Odyssey lacked the ‘OG Assassin’s Creed’ vibe

@@ItsDazYT yeah I wouldn’t say it was an AC game but it was a great game of its own. Going with Greek gods is always a W for me personally and Cassandra acting out in the dlc more than anything was amazing. Like when she is looking for her baby, I felt that shit.
