@@matt13ross Right? I think the actual design cycle would have been about 2013-15 and phones were smaller then. Not a hard prediction that'd they grow in size, nor a hard thing to upgrade it a couple years later. I guess more people shoulda complained. Hopefully fixed in the design refresh.

Now this looks like a mod i can do and worth it! That headlight replacement video was a nightmare. My back is shot from 10 years of the Army and it just watching you bend, pull, pry and work to get that grill off made my back ache. The lights looked good tho! I would probably pay to have that done professionally but will wait until i find a reasonable front bumper/winch combo for the 2021 zr2 durmax and get it all done at the same time. I do love my truck but you're right about the wireless charger, its useless and that cab needs all the storage it can spare.

Yup this mod is super easy. Headlights aren’t terrible to swap, just some PITA bolts. But a bumper and lights at the same time make the most sense.

2017 canyon doesn’t support iPhone wireless charging. Was pretty happy finding that out. Wanted to do this conversion a long time ago. Now I have to get it done! Thanks man!

I have a 2019 diesel Bison and my Samsung S8 fits and charges no problem, but as you say you need to plug the phone in anyway if you want Android auto. I thought you would have had a go at enlarging the space to allow your phone to fit - maybe you can give it a try now it is spare?

Dude. Best channel ever for the diesel ZR2... I literally want every single mod you've done, especially the delete! so sick... BTW I have the same truck, same year... Get ready for this... EVEN WORSE than your phone not fitting, my iPhone 11 pro fits absolutely perfectly in the spot... wireless charging doesn't work! Light turns green for like 5 seconds then goes to yellow...literally no phone will charge on the thing. C'mon GM... apparently they fixed it for the 2019 and up... should totally be a recall... just embarrassing. So if yours happens to be a 2019+, I will totally take that thing off your hands, otherwise that thing is less than useless. SMH...

I haven't replaced the console piece yet but did cut the wires to the wireless charger and use it for switched power for my cb/scanner. Worked great and short wire run too!

Yeah. No worries about something sitting there turning it on and potentially causing issues. But sometimes the storage pocket would be nice. Have one of those console trays but it interferes with my gun magnet mounted in the console. Could buy a smaller gun but...

Seems to be a common issue for GM. I've never been able to use the wireless charger on my Regal Tourx for the same reason. To make it even worse, they put it inside the center console

I use the wireless charger for keeping my AirPod Pros charged. Works greats. When they’re not on their fully charged, I use it to charge my iPhone SE which fits just fine in the case

I thought about that. If I had Airpods that had wireless charging I'd consider keeping it. Iphone 11 Pro Max doesn't even come close to fitting though.

I'm thinking about making a platform to raise the charger up and forward slightly. Just need to design it and 3d print it and then maybe cnc it out of aluminum and cerakote it black or something

Agreed. Only my wifes phone fits the charger. A close second for me is the shitty door storage. Whether in the driver or passenger seat, there is no room to reach your hand down to get something out.

See I knew there was a reason I went with the LT! It definitely was not thousands of dollars 😂. I use that spot all the time in my truck for storing stuff. I don't have a phone mount so mine just sits in the front spot(?) and I just plug it in for Android Auto. I think GM designed the wireless charger for a phone from 2012 or just for small devises like headphones (I have the wireless Pixel Headphones which have wireless charging).

I started using the storage cubby as soon as I installed it! I sometimes would put my wallet there and the light would turn on, so I'm sure that wasn't good for credit cards and such lol.

Pixel 4 and 5 fit the charger. Unfortunately, the 2018 version of the charger (that was changed out in the 2019MY) does not reliably charge any phones. If you want it to charge your phone you need to swap out the charger for the ones that come in the 2019 and later models. I have yet to do this mod.

Diesel colorado are so hard to find. I've been searching for 3 months. Dealers won't order them due to chip shortage. They keep pushing to convince you to buy a gas one. The diesels in inventory have every option available and over $55k

Advantages of going with the Basic model. You paid more to Downgrade the center console. I can certainly understand why. I’m glad I went with Basic model!

I'm pretty sure if the truck has blue tooth capability I believe you can go to the dealership for the software but I cant say for sure I didn't know people actually used car play I play pandora right off my phone without android car play

How many miles do you have on your truck and any engine issues? I've heard a lot of negative comments about the DPFs and regen cycles... kind of turned me off of the diesel.

It's bad man. I don't recommend it. I've owned mine for 2 years now. It's literally in the shop every couple months without fail for emissions system issues.

I wanted the satin steel but couldn’t find any. I love that color. No regrets with the diesel. Great fuel mileage and it doesn’t need to be fast, it’s a truck.

I was hoping you had an idea for the small “storage” between the seat heater buttons... This is the 1st mod i disagree with you on! I have two iPhones, both are the smaller iPhone 11’s or whatever. One is on CarPlay, the other fits perfect in that infamous charger.

My first "mods" were: wipers, console tray and...wireless charger delete...it took me 6 months to realize I wanted the cubby more. My phone fit and charged...but overheated and stopped. Useless. Never look back.

Now that you've done this mod - think the front face of the storage compartment above where the charger was would be a spot to install a CB? Regardless, I'd like to see a CB install because you generally do clean installs; I want to install a CB antenna at the rear and so many just jamb the antenna cable through a vent hole or something. Love to see a clean install of a CB system. If not the storage area, a small one in front of the shifter maybe.

Just an FYI, I ordered one using the link in the description, and they sent one with a fake charging pad. So not only is it the wrong product, but it is a counterfeit version of the wrong product.

I was warned that putting anything metal on that charger would cause the object to heat up and melt the plastic.

The worst part about the diesel canyon and Colorado's is the emmisions system. Nothing else even comes close to it. Mine's literally in the shop every 5-6000km for emissions system work. I won't be able to afford to keep the truck running once warranty is up.

it is useless on the 23 as well . even tho they moved it the active zone sucks . i have a new samsung s23 it sees it but if you a bump it stops charging. COME on GM christ

Come up for a fix for the door storage pockets that wont really hold a water bottle....or much else to be honest...I often think....WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?? My 98ZR2 had a way better interior over my 2020....Also...How expensive could it be to add some pigment to the interior plastics and make a black/tan black/red black/grey mix of colors rather than the depressing BLACK expanses of nothingness the Colorado has...I wonder how much to put a 360 surround vision system on a Colorado too?...DAMN! What were they thinking???
