Chevy Colorado to 2019 Blazer Shift Knob Swap (How To)

4 жыл бұрынThe OEM Colorado and GMC Canyon (ZR2 included) shift knob is big and ugly. It also interferes with my knee/leg when driving. There are a few options when swapping this out including Chevrolet Impala, Buick Envision, Chevy Malibu, Etc. I chose the Chevy Blazer as I like the design the best. A few butt connectors and some spray adhesive is all it takes.

I think in 2021 the Colorado ZR2 went to that almost exact same shifter it was one of the few changes they made I'm not positive it might be 2022 but now I'm going to order that shifter lol thanks for the video!!

Great video, I did the same on my 2018 colorado zr2. Part number 84536305 knob, looks to be the same one you used from a 2019 Blazer, $90.30 with shipping from a Chevy dealer. I like the feel and the look with the chevy emblem on it. Thanks for posting this video and the others.

For a little bit of piece of mind: it doesn't matter which wire connects to which wire, it'll worth both ways. (just tested it)

The new 2022 GMC canyons now come with a shifter like that. I was looking at your video and thought it was a good idea went out to my truck but I just got this week and noticed the shifter is already changed to a slimmer model.

You could always wrap it! I saw pictures of someone who wrapped the bottom of the knob in carbon fiber and it looked really good.

I had a question. Did you take off the knob off the 2019 blazer yourself ? If you did. Does the trim cover come off for the blazer? Trying to paint it to glossy black. But don’t know if it comes off.

That's probably at least a year old now. I know there are a few different knobs that work.

I want to wrap the door trim, shifter/cup holder trim and the radio display trim. I can't imagine it's all that hard.

I attempted before and failed, however I think it was because of a cheap brand wrap. I'm going to try again soon I think. the trim just pops off.

If you do it again pre stretch it and use an edge sealer. Keeps it down.

Where did get the proclip at? All I seen on the priclip site is the dashboard that covers the air vent on left side (not cool). And the other is the vent on right side. Help pls. Btw loving the modes.

Not needed, a proper mechanical crimp is an excellent choice for wiring, especially when paired with heat shrink.

Not had a single issue with the original shifter. I would have to try and make myself hit the knob.
