Keep your head up brotha. I lost my boy about 4 months ago, from a barrier as well. I been going through the motions as well, think twice before riding now. Which actually saves me about a month ago.

When you Ride... having moments of trauma, loss, fear ... it is unavoidable ... true riders are those that feel or experience all those moments and they still ride finding the pleasure in those wicked and wonderfull two wheels .

I rode street for about 12 years and a dozen bikes. The longer you ride the more you see people wreck bikes. I hung it up when my first child was born and 13 years later, I don't miss it. I went back to dirt and woods riding. Thanks for sharing your story and sorry to hear about your friend.

Very little does my heart rate ever get up from a video like this. But man, watching that accident... phew. I got into one 23 jan this year, had it not been a prius, i'd probably be dead. It's such a weird feeling like "no fuckin way that just happened". I just remember getting up, throwing off my gloves and just screaming "NO FUCKING WAY THAT JUST FUCKING HAPPENED". I feel for you. Man thats scary shit to witness right in front of you. I lost a family friend years back not from riding but he was murdered. I remember everything clear as day. On Friday he called me up asking to borrow some cash and i told him give me a week and i knew him pretty well. So I already knew he wasnt just asking just because. A week later on a Friday i was eating dinner waiting to meet with my boy when my dad comes in the house and tells everyone the news and I was just lost of words. I just spoke with him a week prior to help out with his issue. And to this day i think about it not because i want too, but because it messed me up. Like damm what if I would of given him the cash sooner he would still be here. Life takes crazy turns sometimes nobody knows what will happen. I thank god for giving me chances in life to live. Stay strong amigo i hope for the best for you in life

Damm. You really did a great job on this one, and it's a hard topic to do that with. I have some friends that lost a fellow rider on a group ride, and none of them were the same after.

What I don't understand is those barriers are supposed to be set up and designed to lessen the damage to a vehicle in the moment of impact. Except I constantly see them being used wrong by DOT that goes for guard rails as well they are there to "gaurd" a vehicle to a safe place while it loses speed but unfortunately they get installed or used in the wrong application and it ends up killing someone and nobody is left accountable...

That's a really difficult thing to see and deal with... My best friend experienced something similar in San Francisco driving for uber. He had just picked up a passenger and was heading for the Bay bridge, well what he didn't know was right before that a motorcyclist had gotten hit on an overpass above where he was, the guy was hit so hard it sent him over the overpass onto a car below, and a few seconds later my friend (he's my ex husband), came around the corner. He had no idea what had happened because initially they just thought a car had broke down, he thought this as well. It wasn't until police got to the scene that they found his remains and his helmet. But it took them some time to figure out where he had come from because his bike wasn't there. Well that's when another call came in but for the overpass above them that's when they found his bike. I believe if I'm remembering correctly that it was a hit n run.. What my ex husband thought were the remains of a dog and that he may have run over those remains, wer not. As I'm finding it difficult to say it right now, he still can't say that part. Keep in mind the impact of him landing on the car is what killed him. And then he was hit by several cars after that. So yeah fill in the blank there cuz I don't think I can type that out..... It still bothers him, and this was about 6 to 8 months ago I think. It was terrible.... But that's not the only time he's experience that, it's just the other time was an accident on a construction site, no motorcycle involved. He's a union electrician who was working there. I'm sorry you went through that... And it's why once in a while I bust out the mom lecture, even though I'm only 5 years older than you lol.... Because the other thing that went wrong with that ride is, y'all were in a lot of traffic and they were riding like id!@#$!!!! No disrespect meant. But that kind of riding NEEDS TO BE left at the track.... I hope his mama and dad and any siblings or children he may have had are doing OK..... Ps... I haven't gotten your stickers yet... I'm hoping to order a hoodie soon too...

This is crazy. It’s terrible you had to Witness it 😢 I witnessed a crash once while I was out on my Daytona. My husband was on his Harley behind me. And there was this group of Harley guys. We were coming the opposite way. At the intersection you can go right or go left. But you have to yield to traffic if you are going left. The guys didn’t have any kind of communication devices. So the one guy thought the person in front of him was going left but he was going straight. So he hit him. We were coming in the opposite direction so we had front row seats basically. I never saw the bike ghost ride into the woods. I only saw the rider sliding on the pavement. He was wearing no helmet. No gear. Nothing. (Most Harley riders here don’t wear gear). I never made a thought. I pulled off to the side of the road and we ran over to help. I was so glad the rider was okay. His arm was pretty bad but he was super chill. I was the one that was panicking. I don’t do okay in those kinds of situations. We helped them get the bike out of the woods. I’m pretty sure it was totaled. What bothered me the most is that no one else stopped to help. This was a biker “club”. They all has their vets on so maybe people were scared. We are trying to push this 600lb bagger out of the woods and it’s a struggle when it’s buried and people saw, but no one cared to stop. They were so appreciative that we stopped. They offered to buy us beers at their clubhouse if we ever wanted to go. I was too shaken up after that. I took my bike home and didn’t take it out for awhile. I can’t even imagine witnessing a crash were the person was killed, I don’t know if I would ever want to ride my bike again if that helped.

Man that was crazy. When I first started riding with a local group we had rides like that and people kept going down. We started putting rules in place and having road captains and all that good stuff. The big bike thing is all ego. Guys think they have to ride 1000's to be cool. Ride the bike that your comfortable with and not what you think other people want you to ride.

Oh man! That was brutal :( This is why I never ride too close to the trucks, especially on highways and on high speed. I'm just wondering.... Wasn't the closed lane indicated on the road?? If they had pinned the lane just before the obstacle this would never have happened.

people just can't control all the variables in that type of traffic you cannot run that hard in traffic and keep a clear head I feel sorry for that guy glad you did this video bro good job showing this . all these kids and adults that are new to riding see is people running 175 on 1000's and they push way to hard they need to see the other side of the fun when you over do it and as you said it is easy to twist the throttle
