THE X-FILES
`The truth is out there,' and FBI agents Scully and Mulder seek it in this sci-fi phenomenon about their quest to explain the seemingly unexplainable. Their strange cases include UFO sightings, alien abductions and just about anything else paranormal.

Scully frantically searches for a way to help her ailing partner without having anyone to turn to for help. A catatonic Mulder's dreams lead him away from his mission and the X-Files to a place which he believes is a better life.

The 3rd installment of this 3 parter, Amor Fati, is based on the book/movie The Last Temptation of Christ. Knowing that story, and its metaphor, helps understand this episode better. As for the actual mythology stuff, we are now in a post syndicate world. Therefore, the mythology is no longer a bunch of old men plotting in a darkly lit room somewhere. Most of them are dead. The original deal with the aliens imploded. I can't tell you how it becomes different without spoiling it. Just know we are moving into new territory, as we know now as of One Son: "all bets are off". I can't say too much more, because this episode foreshadows where season 7, and subsequently season 8, goes. The X Files in the later seasons becomes "oh THAT'S what that meant!", well after you've already watched that episode. Enjoy Season 7! While many agree it is a slog at points, there are many enjoyable and crucial episodes.

CSM smiling creeps me out more than he usually does. It's just not natural. Haunting image of CSM looking out the window and smoking as the world burns. Scully kicking Mulder's ass back into reality. How perfect. I like Mulder calling Scully his touchstone.

20 years later... I still don't get it. They had a great cliffhanger in S06 and a great opener for S07, but I think they didn't know how to conclude. So I think Chris Carter and his writers just got together one weekend, smoked a bunch of weed, and came up with part 3.

DeepThroat played byJerry Hardin is an American actor. Hardin has appeared in film and television roles, including the character nicknamed Deep Throat in The X-Files. Hardin was born in Texas and studied acting at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before beginning his acting career in New York..Its hard to believe, but hes now 93 years old..

Definitely the best of the Sixth Extinction trilogy for me probably due to some of Duchovny's co-story writing involvement on this one. (I was not a big fan of the first two episodes). I see this ep as Mulder's spiritual journey and its very good but then i like the more off-beat episodes. I actually think this episode is more of a deep character study and i find it refreshing in that aspect. There were other earlier mythology episodes that felt a lot more frustrating and tedious (Tunguska comes to mind for me there).

This group of episodes is when I lost any understanding of the mythology arc. It largely stopped making sense to me leading into the X-Files movie, but I had hope it would come around. Then this. Or maybe I just totally lost patience with how little "there" is in this.

I got 1 for you I was rewatching and old (in search of with Leonard Nimoy)on outter space and the topic of pamspermia came up and guess who he interviewed and creating new biology✋😏💭a Dr. Fauchi not the one who just retired but maybe good old dad this was 50 some years ago but since we're delving into a conspiracy driven show thought I'd throw that out there

The third installment left me wondering also. It wasn't done well, BUT, as you go further in the season, answers may be there for you. The first and second parts were excellent though.

This is not my favorite season transition. The next season transition season 7/Season 8 is better. My favorite #1 season transition is season 2/Season 3, Anasazi/Blessing Way/Paper Clip. My #2 favorite season transition was season 5/Season 6, The End/Fight the Future/The Beginning. So the season transition season 7/Season 8 is probably my #3!!!
