Drilling barrels for pins affects “harmonics”…fast forward…drills holes for screws. I would have to see numbers, graphs and certified targets on that.

Chris, when I watched this video 2 weeks ago, I was impressed with the Jackal Ambi charging handle of this rifle. I had thought about getting an Ambi charging handle for my LMT 308 for several years but could never quite pull the trigger on ordering any until seeing this one made by 2X Dev Group. I went to their site and discovered they offered one for an AR-10 308 so I decided to order one. It came today and I'm very pleased with it! 👍🏼 It looks awesome on my LMT and performs exactly as I hoped it would. This Jackal X2 charging handle and the POF roller pin are two of the best accessories ever shown on your channel; I have both installed on my LMT now. Thanks for all you do, Chris! 👍🏼

@@youarecorrect1101 I haven't needed to do that with the Jackal but it's the same length as the LMT charging handle and every bit as rugged so don't see why it wouldn't be just as effective. Sorry for my late reply.

@mobilegamersunite ohh man, don't get me started on Daniel Defense they are way way overpriced. $2200, you say? I think DD has rifles that cost more than even that. As far as these X2 DEV GROUP Rifles go, I still think $2900 is overpriced for a D.I. Rifle, but at least you get a more innovative rifle with the AR-X2 Lightfighter, then the Essentially basic Bare bones DD, mil-spec rifles. I think $2k would not be out of the question for the AR-X2 rifle. But really, I don't see a lot of NEW innovation besides the charging handle, Everything else you can basicly get with other brands as well.

I like the proprietary hand guard, barrel-nut-gas block-3 R- attachments.. I have always regulated my AR rifles gas and used carbine weight for the best recoil mitigation..Some real thought and engineering went into this rifle. Good job...

"X2 Dev Group," I THINK, used to be "NexGen2 Defense." .....They make a 3D printed flow thru can that they claim has ZERO backpresure and you don't have to adjust the gas block when using. If that is true and it really does suppress the rifle to hearing safe levels, that would be a huge breakthrough. Even Huxworx does not claim to be ZERO back pressure.

One thing that puzzles me the most on this rifle is the lightweight BCG. Normally they belong on a competition gun with adjusrable gas blocks, specific ammo etc. Their use compromises reliability to a certain degree from what I understand. Here we have a gun developed specifically for pretty much the opposite goal with this feature, especially when it will be used with a suppressor.

Very Intriguing Rifle. Would be interesting to do some velocity testing with it. I'm thinking velocities would be higher than a traditional rifled barrel. Also Lighter is almost always better IF you have to carry it.

Overall, he has put together what appears to be a phenomenal rifle that is a pound lighter than my Adcor B.E.A.R. Elite. I do like the idea of making it snag-free and mirroring all ambidextrous controls. I disagree with those who poo-poo such features. If you are injured or need to switch shoulders to fire around corners, the ambi controls can be a life safer. The one ergo feature I don't understand is why the bolt release has to be pushed up to close and down to open. That is not intuitive and seems like the reverse of what you would want. Also, I don't see the point of the cheese grader pistol grip. It appears to be a weak spot and potential debris collector. Now if only he'd make it in 6mm ARC. 🙂

From what I know, this uses a Sprinco buffer spring and reduced gas port size to balance out the reduced mass of the bolt carrier.

The most important feature is the fully supported cartridge base. Followed by the improved extractor.

Putting pressure towards the trigger by pushing that tiny button in order to lock the bolt back feels like a negligent discharge waiting to happen. It's a bad lever but only smaller.

I didn't even know they used a titanium BCG, I bought up the 2a armament titanium BCGs a couple months back when they finally restocked them after a year. Lightweight BCGs are the way to go.

@@ASqdrnDA these rifles are for a specific task where accuracy and reliability are the most important aspects, there’s a large selection of full auto/machine gun options they can pick from if the task requires.

These rifles are basically precision rifles or PDWs to SOCOM, but from what I have heard in an emergency they were being used as full auto suppression weapons until the aforementioned weapon systems you speak of arrive. Part of the reason why SOCOM profile barrels exist for the AR platform, that's why I wonder how it would fare in full auto if it lives up to the standards of a JSOC spec rifle.

JSOC doesn't run carbines on AUTO, never really have. It's all semi with rounds on-target fired in rapid strings.

After hearing all about this rifle, then hearing the MSRP, I rather thought it was quite the value. I know I have spent more than that on several builds. My problem now( with our wonderful economy ) is not being able to sell one of my builds as a whole in order to purchase one of these outright.

This was built off their feedback. Their specs. There was no contract from them. This was done just based off what they wanted. Maybe one day they will have a solicitation for this rifle. Who knows

It is a matter of balance between the ammo, port location, recoil spring and the dwell time. If you balance all you can decrease recoil impulse. This rifle is gassed for 5.56mm NATO ammo. The system is perfectly balanced to work this way.

Not this one. This lower was no defined to be a standard AR lower but to to what specs were asked. This lever does not snag like the BAD lever

According to video I saw of him explaining the event... 1. He clearly lacked any training or knowledge of his own gun. 2. He noticed a problem but didn't simple rack the charging Handle to fix it. So last min forward assist saved him from his own lack skill. If you want a FA I see no issue but using Kenosha kid as proof is like using a drunk driver as proof traction control works.

@19DESERTFOX91 I cant remember the specific AR15 he was carrying, but It was pretty cheap and I've heard those specific rifles had QC issues. I'd love to know whether or not the rifle he used that day was in proper spec, but the rifle has been destroyed.

There are countless cases of FA being used by the military... but mostly because they sometimes get rifles in less than stellar conditions. For this contract, it really isn't necessary. Ultimately, you save up next to no weight and it doesn't hurt to have it (unless you're some super slick, low-drag, high-speed type of dude).

Maybe you or someone can answer my question. I remember seeing in a gun store several year ago a Colt AR in 308 caliber that had green plastic furniture and a heavy unfinished stainless 16 inch barrel. Do you know what model this was? I always wondered because it seemed like an odd combination.

I don’t think that was Colt. That was the early Geneseo AR10 series which took modified M14 mags

@@SmallArmsSolutions Thanks. It was a new production though. I think late 90's early 2000's. It had a medium or maybe heavy shiny unfinished stainless barrel. Could swear it was a Colt but I'm not positive. They had several on a rack, so I don't think it was a one off.

The rifling pattern will increase the life alone not accounting for CHF. The accuracy that X2 Devgroup was going for would prohibit use of CHF. They would get their strength through the rifling characteristics and profile.

After just watching a video about this rifle and what they did to a PSA rifle by adding their barrel gas block rail charging handle to a bare-bones PSA rifle these people are brilliant a new one thing that military messed up by going with Sigg I win this rifle is so light got a titanium bolt carrier 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦾🦾🦾🦾💪💪💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
