I don't know what happened over the years, but when I was a kid in the 70s, MLB had a slew of excellent defensive catchers that raked, including the Yankees with Munson.

Move him to 1st base. Who is the Yankees top 1B prospect? We need a 1B with those offensive attributes. Sounds like a .280+ /30 HRs / 30 DBLs player. Yankees need that type of production at 1B

Trevino is the best defense catcher in the league and hes hitting 260 with some clutch hits. Fuck the other catchers. He's my preferred catcher for the next 5 years.

Spencer Jones is struggling in AA and remember, we also were told that Gleyber could develop into a Hall of Famer when we got him and Stanton was no doubt HoF player.

@@chris42069 Judge and Dominguez struggled in AA initially too. It's part of the process. You should be worried if he flew through the minors and didn't struggle at some point. Gleyber never had this much upside. Ever. And if Jones has the career that Stanton has had thus far, that would be another HUGE win for the Yankees! ✌🏾✌🏾

1B could become a logjam for the Yankees. At some point the Yankees have to consider getting Aaron Judge some reps at first just to preserve his longevity.

I think you could get Soto and Judge pratooning in RF with Dominguez in CF. Find a capable LFer if you don't resign Verdugo. Although, I'd consider moving an infeilder with a strong arm and some range to left as well. Of course all this means you gotta do something with Stanton. Either buy him out or try to find a trade partner to eat a little bit of that contract, though I'm not sure who'd want his contract, despite how he's been hitting this year. He keeps up this play, he'll be an all star.

Does any prospect ranking list have Ramirez ranked high enough that the “generational” talent label seems appropriate? The only list I can find is MLB Pipeline and they have Ramirez as the #20 prospect in the Yankees organization which doesn’t suggest “generational” talent. Hopefully he continues to progress in his development.

Ramirez will just have to work on defense because that's the most important thing.Learning to play another position like first base is going to be huge for him if he wants to play sooner.

I wish that there would be a stop to all this 'bull' that Hal Steinbrenner throws out there concerning his saying that the current level of spending can't be sustained. The Yankees received 'One Billion Dollars' from Nike for allowing the 'Swoosh' to appear on the uniforms. Do you people knowhow much 'One Billion' actually is? It equates to 'one thousand million dollars' that have been in the Yankee coffers for some time now and gaining monetary interest each and every day that totals an astronomical amount of money.

Yankees may not sign Juan Soto unless the price is right. Jason Dominguez and Spencer Jones will fill in for Juan Soto. Soto will be miserable in the Mets as Mike Trout in Anaheim.
