For the longest time I thought this DF wasn't that great since all it did was revive Brook as a skeleton and really had no other uses because skeleton perks (even Franky said this DF sucked originally). Brook is another great character. I really like that Oda gave him a lot of flexibility in character and abilities. While Brook is the oldest of the crew, he is nowhere near the most mature. I always get a kick from the “can I see your panties” gag (which usually results in the impossible gag of Nami kicking him in the head and giving him a goose egg on his bones) and his “Oh, I don’t have an X” gag as well. His interactions with Big Mom were really wonderful as well. Not just that his DF is a hard counter to Big Mom as Luffy was to Enel, but I also really enjoyed Brook calling Big Mom a “Young Lady”. Can’t wait to see his reunion with Laboon! Will be a tear jerking while singing Bink’s Sake for sure!

It's funny, GLR. I was binging on fan art and fan fiction for James O'Barr's "The Crow" last night after watching a "Ten Things You Might Know" video about the 1994 film, and reading a cursory overview of the series and the multiple people to take up the mantle. Of course, Eric (Draven) and the others brought back to life by that ancient magic are driven by regret, anger, sadness, and above all a desire for vengeance. This is a far cry from the pure regret and longing (for his crew and for Laboon) that drove Brook to come back. However, that's not to say that this skeleton gentleman can't be absolutely brutal when defending his nakama. Heck, his whole fighting style involves him distracting people with music or witty banter while he casually walks through and cuts them, all while the victim (and the audience) doesn't suspect a thing until after Brook sheathes his sword and names the attack. There is a lot of untapped potential/undisclosed information with this Devil Fruit's abilities. The possibilities for full awakening are tremendous, even if we stick with the solely "second chance at life" related abilities once a user's soul returns to a suitable vessel. I say "full awakening" as Brook has already pioneered some techniques with his soul that have been shown off post-time skip, including his Soul King music form that can incapacitate (exorcise?) fellow beings with soul energy artificially inserted into them.

What if we take one of brook's hair and use germa 66 cloning technology to make a healthy clone of his body, can brook possess it?

Imagine Brook's awakening is to increase the amount of bones in his body not only the ability to make it larger but also to stack the bones and increase his physical attack and defence. And also making different parts from bones like Robin's DF so that he can trick his enemies by switching his sword from one hand to another and like making the attacking look like it's coming from one direction but actually it everywhere. Just so coooool!!

About the whole limit resurrection thing in regards to a second or a third chance in life, Well it is as far as what Brook knows. I mean it's not like he have died a second time to have learned about that "fact"

Adressing haki (assuming all strawhats will eventually have at least one type) he already superfast i imagine with enough more fights observation wouldn't be that far behind, black bones or his fencing sword with arrament sounds awesome and If Conqueror's was more common that, the ability to admit your soul outwards as a weapon only seems like something that would make it stronger.

You know, sometimes I start to wonder if there are, unofficially, *thematic* categories of devil fruits. While we of course have the very official *functional* categories of Logia, Zoan, and Paramecia... Ever notice that there are plenty of fruits out there that deal with different aspects of a single shared concept? Given the video I'm making this comment on, I believe a fitting example would be the Yomi Yomi no Mi, Soru Soru no Mi, and Horo Horo no Mi; they all have different abilities, but share the common thematic element of "spirits"

I really think the Brook vs. Big Mom fight is one of the fights that makes a case that we should consider type match-ups of other fruits when considering the devil fruit encyclopedia. My turn with Brook Awakening. Seeing as he had taken the souls of Big Mama Pawns in Cake Island, what if Brook can bring back the souls of the deceased temporarily and serves him as their overlord through his music? He can revive the dead by absorbing the souls of others for only a few minutes!

I could have sworn that the yomi yomi no mi before brook died allowed home to resurrect anyone, once. The reason why everyone died was because he’d already revived them once before. I remember someone saying to him that he’s the only one who hadn’t been revived yet.

Pretty good video however I do find it slightly disappointing that you did not think to mention the loophole that the fruit provides to possibly gain multiple fruit powers since the method of your death could quite possibly be the consumption of a second fruit

This devil fruit has me interested Only because is it technically the most broken devil fruit in one piece "sort of". Lets say for example you were to eat the yomi-yomi no mi, and gain the ability to resurect yourself. Because you cannot actually die by normal means, does that mean that you will be the one and only user of the yomi-yomi no mi? I'm assuming sea water wouldn't kill the user, but just remove their ability to swim. The only possible way that I can think of is only theoretical, because It will likely never happen, but what if a yomi-yomi no mi user ate another devil fruit? Would the user "die" because the ability would allow them to revive themself, or would they gain the power of another devil fruit? If the second is true, what would the most potent combination of devil fruits be with the yomi-yomi no mi?
