Honestly with how limited their budget was, this turned out pretty good. The only thing that made no sense to me was the shadows in the art style, it has no artistic value imo and I have seen no one that likes it. This show needed more episodes but I realised that they definitely didn't have enough budget to do it, hopefully if there is a season 2, it will be more fleshed out.

@@RandoLePerson King got 3rd place in the first tournament. He didn't outright win it. I agree that he has a clear shot at being front and center in Tekken 3, considering his master was killed by Ogre, who was unleashed from an old temple in Mexico, which is King's nationality. I wouldn't go as far as calling him a "main character" though. That is unfortunately reserved for the Mishimas. I wish they more evenly distributed the core of the narrative instead of focusing on the Mishima stuff, but as it stands, everyone but the Mishimas are side characters. I'm just thankful that King was never turned into a Joke character with unsatisfying story and endings like the majority of the cast does now.

I still liked it as it at least felt like tekken in the action even adding the visual flair and character moves. I also like that we got some Jin and Jun time since IIRC we dont get much of that in the games. I 100% agree it needed way more episodes than 6. I mean there were so many fights and interactions we missed like Jin actually meeting his friends and not in some montage sequence. I was also really thrown off with eddys replacement. As you mentioned its still the best adaptation we got.

the whoel show was pretty good minus the tournament honestly. Jun and Jin, Heihachi training Jin, Jin's dynamic with Xiayou and Hwoarang, the show even made Xiayou grew on me when I always found her meh. I do love the tiny scenes for Paul, Julia and King. but the tournament itself was very poorly written, we only saw 7 matches, the others had strange results that could use further explanation, no idea why they used characters from future games instead of saving them, and Forest and Eddy's unreasonable omission, nothing made sense as soon as the tournament started, it's like they had everything finished, and they realized: oh no, we forgot the titular tournament, let's put up something together quick.

As soon as a competent fan gets their hands on a story, they pitch something much more satisfying than the official product. This is what I don't understand about projects like the new Tekken show: So they want to chip in the nostalgia of Tekken 3 and allow it's fans to experience the narrative of the series in a more fleshed out manner. But they decide to re-write key scenes, replace characters and give an even shorter story than what you get from the games? I know Tekken's story isn't a master piece, but if they are trying to appeal to the fans, then their target demographic obviously likes the said story. Considering it's a story conveyed in short bios, it has a lot of gaps that gives a lot of freedom to work with. So why on earth do they decide to mess with what little key points they had to work with? Whenever any franchise starts retconning things, I feel a huge slap in the face for my investment in the story, and this has been true for all adaptations of Tekken into movie/series format to date. I'm frustrated with the series, because there was clear attention paid to a lot of lore elements. So we came really close to a proper, canon, fleshed out cinematic take on the Tekken Story. I sincerely appreciate that they took the time to do so, as well as portray actual movesets in-game. But if they aren't going to reward the fans commitment by adhering to the established lore, then I can't get invested in their cinematic take. All it would have taken are the suggestions in the video for me to look forward to season 2. And this is coming from a King fan, who I regret to admit, was given way too much spotlight than he narratively deserved. When will we see Paul's victory over Ogre?

@@norikeboy you are aware that after Xiaoyu’s performance in Tekken 3, Heihachi chose her to be his bodyguard or something similar. I think she infiltrated Hei’s ship and beat the crap out of all of his men. That impressed him, so he hired her. And the scene in the anime is meant to show the importance of strategy in a fight; Nina underestimated her opponent because she’s a lighthearted little girl whereas Xiaoyu took Nina seriously and developed a strategy. Upsets happen all the time in real fights and that’s what that scene is meant to portray. That, and it was an easy way to show the audience - those who know the lore of future games - why Heihachi would hire a little girl as a bodyguard.

It definitely needed at least 2 more episodes to better establish the supporting characters, especially Hwoarang and Xiayou - would have loved if the show expanded on Jin's relationships with both of them, showing HOW they met and WHY they are friends. There are so many storytelling opportunities that can be done with these and with the rest of Tekken's large and diverse roster and yet just about nothing was capitalized on aside from the Mishima's once again. BUT Considering the low budget and the fact that this feels more like a pilot series for something greater, I suppose I can let it pass. Hopefully if more seasons come, they do a better job.

Though I definitely agree with your conclusion, I can't say I agree with how you came to it. Certain elements of the show could have used more fleshing out, but not for the lack of other stories not being adapted. It's more the quality of what they're adapting, rather than what else from the source they could be adding. I agree that there should have been more episodes to flesh out the characters they had. I don't agree that they needed to be fleshed out to the degree you're suggesting. In terms of what this story is trying to accomplish, adding stuff like Nina's cryo-stasis or feud with her sister would be a very distracting element that may further complicate the story being told, rather than enhance it. I definitely agree that there should have been more episodes to flesh out Jin's relationships with Xiaoyu and Hwoarang, and add more credence to Paul's story. And making King the final challenge was an odd decision from a lore perspective. The more episodes should be used to bolster the story threads that they already have instead of adding new ones to keep track of. Would have liked it if you explained why Leroy's fight with Jin didn't add much, because the Forest suggestion doesn't align with the issues you've have about fights not being connected enough. Though I thought the fight needed more time to be fleshed out, Nina losing to Xiaoyu isn't THAT unreasonable (neither is Anna beating Yoshimitsu depending on the circumstances). As much exposure Nina has throughout the series, she actually doesn't really have an impressive collection of feats (Death by Degree is her fighting jobbers and fodder). Nina accels at assassinations and fighting dirty. In terms of martial arts, she's pretty much on par with everyone else. I agree with your suggestions to alter their involvement in the story up until the mind control, which hasn't been established as an element up to that point. And this version of Nina is probably the second best adaptation, since the LA movie and The Motion Picture drop the ball in many regards. I agree that the climax could have been handled a little better than what they did. But for me, the level of game accuracy isn't as important as the level of game consistency; the story effectively accomplishing what it wants, while still staying true to the core elements of the source material. Instead of trying to be exactly the same. But that's just my personally. Tekken has parts that are epic. While I agree that the series indulges way to much in making grand scale battles. But the show still kept everything relatively to the ground and had restraint when depicting the more epic moments. Comparing the sequences to DBZ is a bit too harsh of a slam. Any other arguments that I didn't bring up I'm mostly fine with. Wish I could have seen the script before you made this.

Honestly the problem with a lot of his arguments stem from the fact that the games had a lot of these things, but even in the games they were never truly fleshed as well as people would like to remember. Just a little dialogue here and an arcade ending there. The games only truly started going heavy on the story in the later games, and even then most people didn't like the stories given to them all that much. Do I think the show could be longer, yes definitely, would it have made it better? For sure. Does that mean what we have now is bad? Not really, especially since it's really just there to generate hype for the games more than anything.

Mostly just...nodding and seconding your main points here. It's one thing to cut out excess fat to keep the core story tidy (i.e. I may WANT to see Lei investigating Bryan's apparent return from death, or Yoshimitsu and Dr. B using Ogre's blood to accidentally make a kaiju rat, but they don't really add to the core Ogre conflict), it's another to chop off story beats that tie in and strengthen said core. All the more frustrating with Nina and Paul here, as they're technically 'featured characters' who are introduced like they're gonna mean something and just...don't. Putting aside feelings about hypothetical power levels and who-beats-who, you don't even *need* to reverse the Xiaoyu/Nina decision. Mostly because that fight doesn't need to happen to have Nina go after Jin, she can (and would) absolutely make her move outside of the tournament. And even without the extra impetus of her hurting his friend, the mere fact of being in an unsanctioned scrap to the death - and the mid-battle realisation that it's Ogre's eyes staring back at him when he looks at Nina - would be enough to bring his Devil side to the surface, at least briefly. He overpowers her, maybe throwing out the T5-style Devil Jin manic laughter, and just barely regains control before landing a killing blow; in the aftermath, they have a little talk so Nina can spell out the possession thing and Jin tries to express some sympathy (working under the assumption that, in a perfect world, the anime would keep going to adapt T6 and it would have some meaning when Jin hires Nina) before we move on. As for Paul, your idea works, but the devil in me (MY DEVIL GENE~) wants to stick with T4 canon and have Paul win. It would derail audience expectations in a fun way before the finale, and compels Jin to start wondering if the Mishima Style is all it's cracked up to be; Heihachi would of course blame the loss on Jin's own weakness, but, c'mon, going full rage punch mode against the Deathfist guy was always going to be a poor strategy, whereas dropping back into the more fluid, reactive technique of his mother could've worked. The one problem with T4's version of events is Paul leaving without noticing Ogre transform, something that only makes sense if Ogre's form shifting takes like an hour to work, which it clearly doesn't. So instead, have Paul defeat Ogre after a hard-fought battle, and right after he turns around with a raised arm to boast about it, that's when True Ogre pops up, rejuvenated by the transformation, cheap shots an already tired Paul and throws him through a wall (assuming there's any left standing, lot of those being broken on this show). Then Jin steps up for the true final battle and it can mostly go the same way, only it's more interesting in how it got there. Or, you could just, y'know, do none of that and have both these characters' roles be reduced to 'exposition dump then jobbing out'. Makes as much sense as turning 2 of Jin's most important social interactions into 10 seconds of a silent montage.

Xiaoyu’s grandpa is Wang Jinrei; a veritable Martial Arts God. I do wish that Nina had more screentime to fight a match against Her sister before the Xiaoyu match, but that doesn’t mean Nina should’ve beaten Ling. The purpose of thar scene is to show that strategy can overcome skill in a fight; Nina underestimated her opponent and wanted to end the fight quickly whereas Xiao used her evasive moves to tire her opponent out. It was also to show Heihachi’s interest in Ling as after the third tournament, he hires Ling to be his head bodyguard. And Paul would’ve beaten Kazuya if he hadn’t turned into his devil form. Paul also beat the Ogre in the games before he transformed into true ogre. Personally, I wish we got that in the anime: Jin gets shot by Hei as Ogre comes in and Paul steps up to fight him. Paul thinks he’s won after defeating Ogre, only for him to transform into his cheap, fire-breathing form. Paul gets KOed and something happens that makes Devil Jin awaken.

I like your take on it but I disagree. Personally I think from what we got was actually great and as a Tekken Fan I was satisfied despite some tiny nitpics, hell from what we have here I dare to say Bloodlines is way better than the First Tekken Ova and has some very epic moments like Jin letting the devil awaken inside him and the multiple times they used actual moves from the games along with great camera angles

I don't think there is anything to disagree though, he is speaking truth. This show get a lot of praise for no reason other than cheap, temporary fan service. Jin awakening devil is kind of a given and fighters using moves from the game was nice I guess. Personally I would have sacrificed the latter for some much needed character development. Because that's what the game sells, it sells characters. It shouldn't be just the Mishimas. Bloodline for me seemed more like a very obvious marketing campaign so hearing from someone that it is better than the first movie which had it's own philosophy and aimed to be a work of art, sounds really weird. To each their own I guess.

@@georgedrizs5336 Tbh, Tekken Motion Picture ain't that much better compared to the Tekken Bloodline. Bloodline has issues yes, but so does the 90s film as well. Most of the characters in that movie just stand around and does nothing. Only Michelle and Jack have some form of backstory if we are not counting Kazuya and Jun. Nina and Anna's feud was explained in a short dialogue before Anna gets eaten by dinosaur. Most of the fights in Motion Picture were over in 5 or 10 seconds, it was quite disappointing.

I don't think Nina is Tekken's poster girl anymore. That may have been the case then, but it certainly isn't now. If someone has been paying attention to the recent marketing, Xiaoyu has been billed as the main Tekken girl in recent years. She was the main Tekken female rep in the Project x Zone games, Kof all-stars game, and Fist of the North Star x Tekken. The latter two were mobile games, but a series poster girl would appear regardless of its importance. Do you see Chun-Li miss out on crossovers like Nina does? There's also the fact that Xiaoyu was in the initial arcade versions of T7 while Nina had to wait for the updates. It was clear that Nina lost her status as Tekken's poster girl to Xiaoyu. The Bloodline anime just made it noticeable. The recent focus on Xiaoyu is most likely due to Blood Vengeance. Xiaoyu was popular but she wasn’t taken seriously by the devs before BV. Her purpose in the lore was just comic relief. Namco didn’t actually choose Xiaoyu to be the main protagonist of BV, it was the film’s writer Dai Satō. Harada was surprised by the decision. After being impressed by Xiaoyu’s role as the heroine in BV, Namco decided to make Xiaoyu the franchise’s poster girl. That’s why Xiaoyu’s more mature characterization from the film carried over to the games. Note that SFxT was the last time Nina was treated as Tekken’s poster girl. Blood Vengeance came out when SFxT was just months away so they couldn’t change the marketing. After SFxT, Xiaoyu began to be treated as Tekken’s poster girl.

Can always count on you to come in and help fix the wretched writing of a beloved fighting game series. I went into the show with an open mind and wanted to watch it before hearing what others had to say about it and as I feared but expected, the show was a mess. Sure it had some really stellar looking fight scenes and I liked how they incorporated the characters' fighting styles into their fight scenes but once you get past the flashy animation, you're met with a BARE BONES show that failed to set out what it was trying to do which was adapt the Tekken 3 saga. as agreed, it's absolutely true that the show needed more than 6 episodes. Hell the standard 13 episodes that Netlfix series' usually get would've been more than enough. For me personally, it's the lack of character interactions that really made this show underwhelming and believe me, I was already trying to let things sldie like how characters like Leroy, Steve, Marduk, and Feng Wei had no business being here. But it's the fumbling of certain plot points that really hurt the show as well like Nina no being mind-controlled by Ogre while suffering from amnesia. Them eliminating that key plot point to her character made her inclusion feel so pointless. Because when you really think about it, why was she here? What was her goal? Sure you can say that she was there to kill Heihachi but being someone who played Tekken 3 back in the day, I just don't find that good enough and I believe they should've just kept the old plot point instead. It could've played out like you said where she's mind-controlled by Ogre, painfully beats up Xiaoyu which enrages Jin and gives more causation to the activation of his devil gene and when he defeats her, she's freed from the control. Nevermind the fact that we don't even see an interaction between her and Anna. And then Leroy. Let's be real, he was only included here because they wanted to have a black character to have the cast be racially diverse and don't get me wrong, that's all fine and good but there already was a POC character that existed in Tekken 3 and that was Eddy and they could've just used him instead while staying true to the Tekken 3 era. Leroy being here just clashed with that and like you said, it didn't bring anything worthwhile to the show. I was actually thinking that Jin could've fought Eddy and broke his leg but your idea with Forrest Law being the fall man instead is a much better idea and would make more sense for like you said, why Forrest took a break from fighting to be woven into the game's story. I also agree that Paul should've been the final opponent for Jin instead of King That was actually what I thought was going to happen when I went in blind and I was surprised that this didn't happen. It really would've made a lot more since with Paul being the final opponent where it would've demonstrated why he was was the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2 and that way, Jin could still give the prize money to King to open up the orphanage which was good addition i n the show to show Jin's selflessness that he learned from Jun's teachings. Really all my complains about the show could've been solved if the show had more episodes because the show really dropped the ball on fleshing the characters out more. I wouldn't mind seeing slice of lice scenarios like Jin adjusting to public high school while being befriended by Xiaoyu and spending time together as friends while running into Hwoarang on some occasions and through their fights, become friends with a rivalry streak. Or Julia having flashbacks of spending time with Michelle and learning more about the pendant from her. Or had they actually stuck with the Ogre brainwashing of Nina, Anna initially being ticked at seeing Nina at the tournament only to grow concerned when she realizes that she has amnesia and decides to try to help her out (which weaves into Nina's Tekken 3 ending when she gets her memories back). Or Lei Wulong knowing Jin through Jun and how Jun stayed in contact with him where they remained friends and he visits her and meets Jin as a baby or adolescent child. You know just things that would help breathe more life into the characters. That is what I was hoping Bloodline would do but it failed to deliver that and instead we just got a jumbled mess. Let's be real here, we knew the fight scenes were going to be good but a good show is one that you see yourself going back to and for me, I just don't see myself going back to Tekken Bloodline. Once you get past the cool looking fight scenes, there's really not all that much there at all. And compared to Tekken the Motion Picture from 1997, the latter still is a better experience (imo) because it did what this show failed to do which was attempt to flesh out the characters by having them interact with each other. Bloodline was just indeed, "Wasted Plotenial" and though we shouldn't be surprised at that, it still is lowkey depressing.

I think Leroy works as Jin's first fight, an old, stubborn man with a grudge against Heihachi that he's all too happy to extend to Jin (I don't think Eddy would have worked as well given that he's much younger). It gives Heihachi the impression that everything's going according to plan... before Nina cocks it up and loses against Xiaoyu (thus eliminating an easy source of rage for Jin), Jin refuses to win the Mishima way against Hwoarang and finally Julia ruins another opportunity to have Jin fights someone that he actually wants to hurt when she reveals King's motivations. Then Heihachi has no choice but to get into the ring to get Jin well and truly mad.

I actually thought Tekken Bloodline is a good adaptation on par with that Tekken OVA from the 90s. The fight scenes were top-notch and accurate to the games, the central characters (Jin, Hwoarang, Xiaoyu, and Paul specifically) were well written, and I liked how it stayed true to Tekken 3 for the most part. However, I agree with you on what you listed in your video as the series was too short and would have been better if it fit 12-13 episodes (like a typical anime season). Nina should have won the fight but it would be cool to see Xiaoyu fight other opponents before her fight with Nina as a way to show off her skills. There should have been better character-establishing moments as a way to introduce the cast in a better light. Also, an epilogue of sorts for the hype of a continuation.

While you're entitled to your opinion, I have to disagree with the notion of it being on par with the OVA movie. There's no denying that Tekken Bloodline ha some well done animated fight scenes but it was severely lacking in narrative. We hardly got any meaningful interactions (be them pleasant or unpleasant) with the characters excluding Jin & Heihachi. Certain plot elements were changed from the source material which made things confusing or pointless (Nina not being mindcontrolled, Leroy being there, No Forrest Law), etc.) I mean the latter is probably more an issue for those of us who grew up with the games as they came out but still... The OVA may have aged and has some laughable voice acting in parts, it at the very least still more or less gave some meaningful (for what it was) interactions between the characters like Jun getting to know Lei and Jack-2 and somewhat Michelle. But mostly the OVA still felt like a piece of the game it was adapting atmosphere.

I didn't like it. After all these years SF II Animated Movie is still undefeated champion of best fighting game adaptation. Nina lost to Xiaoyu? Paul lost? No interaction between Paul and Forest Law, Nina and Anna, King and Marduk? No Lei? Tekken 3 has still best story out of entire the Tekken series in my opinion. They could make a really good adaptation from its story. I really like your ideas but one thing I could add is Jin actually lost against Paul. Xiaoyu won because she was wearing sensible footwear 😁. I'm guessing one of the main problems with the adaptation is that Jin is too nice and almost a functional teenager ? He's got friends, he implies that he would have liked a fight against Xiaoyu for the sake of it, he protects Julia from his grandfather and he's clearly not obsessed with vengeance enough that he would do what's truly necessary to bring out Ogre against people who don't deserve it. Hence why Heihachi has to step in at the end, because Jin would have absolutely no problem hurting him. Was Jun hoping to maybe bore Ogre into leaving at the beginning ? She only starts attacking him when Jin comes out, as if she wanted to make herself a bigger target than her son now that he had gotten the demon's attention.

Tekken bloodline is another unsuccessful anime adaptation of the same game franchise like it's previous movies and animations (Tekken the motion picture, Tekken 2010 live action movie, TBV). At the beginning it promised too much to stay true to the story, but they couldn't keep up with their words. They skipped many things like, How Jin got his tattoo, other characters' fights, and other Tekken 3 rosters (Bryan, Eddy, Law, Lei, etc.). Also, participation of Steve, Feng and Leroy in Tekken 3 and Julia wearing her Tekken 7 outfit doesn't make sense at all. Tekken bloodline felt like the makers rushed it and forgot to fill in the gaps. It skipped so many parts, and modified some parts in their own way, which doesn't feel true to the original story anymore. It became totally non canon. They should remake the whole series again showing the true story of Tekken.

They did Nina (The iconic female of the franchise and was once voted as the hottest female fighting game character of all time) dirty. They could have at least had her lose to someone else other than Xiayou.

Agreed on all accounts I don't know why the need for DBZ esque battles like mind you T7 attempt to have you believe Heihachi human after all the insanity he survives Do developers believe Kaiju battle sell cause I looked everywhere and everybody hates it F for Harada though he thought T7 would make people like the Mishima's now he's the only Tekken fan who likes them everybody else knows they took the spotlight for too long.

Tekken 3 is the embodiment of my childhood and I was super excited to see it animated after all those years. That being said, with all of the wasted potential aside, f**k those square shadows on everyone. Just f**k them. Them and whoever animated this, thinking it will be a good idea. I'd rather have this thing in 2D than this BS.

I think its a bit strech to call this faeces, but I agree that some bits didn't fit so well. And jeez the flashbacks at the end. My god! SO!... MANY!... FLASHBACKS! Though I think that this series made the right decision not focusing too much on other characters. Because all it would have done is confuse the audience, and make any newcomers lose track of what is going on. A better idea would be to do a spin-off series based around specific characters, because then you don't need to worry about drawing attention away from the main plotline and you get to cover each character in depth. As much as I liked the Leroy Smith fight, I think it would have been better to just have the original roster. Just personal preference.

They could have focused on new characters fine. Other adaptations can juggle like 7-8 in like 9 episodes, see Arcane which had a large cast of characters they developed (Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce, Viktor, etc...). The problem was it being 20 minutes and only 6 episodes, it might have well been a movie instead of a series.

@@pedroportela6476 Tekken funded Blood Vengeance which likely had a much bigger budget with a whole ass theatrical release. I have a really hard time believing they could not afford to fund a quality Netflix series, but Castlevania could which as a franchise has sold less than Tekken (53 mil TEK vs 20 mil CAS). And that's because Castlevania is using hand-drawn animation which is harder than 3D models and likely more expensive even with slightly less episodes. Also being years in production shows good planning (or at least hesitance), that's on the Tekken team if they didn't plan for this.

To be fair, it actually made sense for Xaioyu to beat Nina in the context of that fight. Nina was to focused on the fact she wasn't fighting a mature veteran fighter rather then the fight it self. Xaioyu on the other hand was actually focused on winning and wanted to prove herself. If the two where to fight again however Nina would most likely win. I don't think the scene was ment to down play Nina at all.

7 things to fix/improve Tekken Bloodline: 1.Expand the lore and Story for the show. 2.Make it 16 episodes instead of 6 episodes. 3.a epilogue for the next season(Based on Tekken 4) 4.Make original characters exclusive for the anime to connect with the characters. 5.Put Eddy Gordo, Forest Law,Jack-3 in the anime. 6.no cameos for Steve Fox,Feng Wei, Craig Marduk, and Leroy Smith untill the next seasons. 7.an badass songs for opening and end credits With some singers singing in an extremely and powerful vibe.

The show was alright, but I'd change the fight lineup, and the characters involved. If it was up to me, I'd use characters that are in Tekken 3. Not pull characters from Tekken 4, Tekken 5, and/or Tekken 7 (Marduk, Feng, and Leroy). With that being said, here are the characters from Tekken 3 that I'm excluding... Dr. Bosconovitch - He's a playable character in the PlayStation version of Tekken 3, but doesn't actually participate in the tournament. Gon - He's a guest character. Mokujin - He wakes up when Jin is fighting Ogre. At that point, it's too late to be deemed an entry. Panda - She simply accompanies Xiaoyu to the tournament. Tiger Jackson - Eddy's alter-ego. What else is there to say? Sidenote: Bryan sneaks into the tournament. It isn't stated if he actually participates. Since I'm using Tekken 3 only characters and there aren't very many of them, he's in. Here are my brackets... Yoshimitsu vs. Lei - Winner: Yoshimitsu Gun Jack vs. Bryan - Winner: Bryan Kuma vs. Paul - Winner: Paul Anna vs. Xiaoyu - Winner: Anna Jin vs. Nina - Winner: Jin Law vs. Hwoarang - Winner: Hwoarang Eddy vs. King - Winner: Eddy Julia vs. Heihachi - Winner: Heihachi Lei could take the loss since he's fairly inconsequential to the overall plot. Same applies to Gun Jack. I know Gun Jack sacrifices himself to save Jane's life, but if Bryan wastes him here, that works too. As per Kuma's Tekken 4 prologue, it's stated he lost to Paul. Xiaoyu isn't gonna beat an assassin. Yeah, she beats Nina in Bloodlines, but that doesn't make any sense. Anna gets the win, easy. Nina losing to Jin is far more acceptable than losing to Xiaoyu. This fight could even perhaps serve as a reason as to why Jin recruits Nina during the events of Tekken 6. Forest vs. Hwoarang is a throwback to Marshall vs. Baek. Hwoarang wins since Forest is really a throwaway character. Eddy has an actual gripe with the Mishima Zaibatsu. He entered the tournament to find answers. While I'm not the biggest Eddy fan, Tekken 7 did him a huge disservice. I know King is a fan favorite, I'm a fan as well, but he doesn't add much to the story. King has a bigger plot in Tekken 4 surrounding Marduk. Julia vs. Heihachi should've took place during the tournament. Yeah, Heihachi's the sponsor, but there's no reason why he wouldn't be participating. He's trying to draw out Ogre and he's one of the strongest fighters on the planet. QUARTER-FINALS Yoshimitsu vs. Bryan - Winner: Yoshimitsu Paul vs. Anna - Winner: Paul Jin vs. Hwoarang - Winner: Jin Eddy vs. Heihachi - Winner: Heihachi I'd plant the seeds for the Yoshimitsu/Bryan rivalry here. Rather than killing Bryan, Yoshimitsu spares him. This gives Bryan a lesson in humility. Especially since his time is limited. Although, this isn't established until Tekken 4. Anna's just another obstacle in Paul's way. It's stated that Jin beat Hwoarang during the tournament. Eddy wants answers about his father's death and comes face-to-face with the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu himself, but is unable to secure the victory. SEMI-FINALS Yoshimitsu vs. Paul - Winner: Paul Jin vs. Heihachi - Winner: Jin Paul can either win outright or Yoshimitsu can forfeit by simply not showing up. Yoshimitsu is looking for Ogre, anyway. Also, losing to Paul is far more plausible than losing to Anna. Jin taps into the Devil Gene and overwhelms Heihachi. This fight is the reason why Jin gets shot in the head after he beats True Ogre. FINALS Paul vs. Jin - Winner: Paul It's stated that Paul went undefeated throughout the tournament. Since Paul didn't get to face/beat Kazuya in the previous tournament, this is the next best thing. Of course, it isn't the same. Jin is rendered unconscious, fatigued from tapping into the Devil Gene in the fight prior. GRAND FINALS Paul vs. Ogre - Winner: Paul Jin vs. True Ogre - Winner: Jin Paul leaves the tournament grounds after defeating Ogre. Unbeknownst to him, Ogre steals Heihachi's energy (who's still unconscious from his fight with Jin), and transforms. Jin recovers, takes on True Ogre, and wins. After the fight, Heihachi shoots Jin in the head just like in the latter's Tekken 3 ending. Of course, just watching the ending made you wonder why Heihachi did what he did, that is until we saw Jin's eyes glow red. In the game, there's really no context prior to the events in terms of Heihachi's motivation. Here, there is. Heihachi saw Jin tap into the Devil Gene and was immediately perceived as a threat that needs to be neutralized. A lengthy post, but these are my thoughts on how the fights should've gone, peppered with some plot points.

I like how they've established connections between the characters in this. Like Jin, Hworang and Xiayou being friends, and that comraderie between him and Paul. It gives extra feeling for when Jin starts WW3 in T6. I like that Heihachi shooting Jin wasnt private cause it gives more for Hworang and Xiayou to do in T4 since Xiayous mission in T4 was to win and build a time machine and Hworang was just looking for a rematch.

Way better choices and some of my biggest gripes addressed here, great video! The show made me realize that all the Jun fans out there actually had a legitimate claim to her surviving. Ogre has about 4 unique moves in Tekken 3 and 2-3 more when he turns to True Ogre. The interesting thing is, every character he steals a move from aside from Jun appears in the series again by 5 the latest. This goes in line with the way Ogre absorbs Heihachi to become True Ogre and Heihachi reappears after True Ogre is defeated. It also strangely foreshadows Kazuya’s return in 4 because Ogre has a Mishima string or 2 but specifically Kazuya’s while standing Right Punch. The show basically erases Jun’s possible return for the same reasoning and is overall not good. It is really funny when Devil Jin shows up with the chains on him that Heihachi and Kazuya try to restrain him with at the end of Tekken 4. I do think they started establishing Jin’s true driving force in Tekken which is actually his fear. He ditches Mishima style in the game to avoid becoming the Devil because the Devil reminds him of Ogre. When he comes to power in Tekken 6, he becomes obsessed with Azazel because, once again, it reminds him of Ogre and he is compelled to rid the world of another Ogre level threat.

@@decadentgamer3108 From what's its shown, Xaioyu couldn't evade all of Nina's attack and sometimes had to resort to blocking and even attempted to land big hits on Nina which required her to be up close which is a dangerous territory when it comes to fighting grapplers. King has both speed and power and shows that he could handle strikers since he did defeated Paul which who's a very skill fighter. Xaioyu isn't know for grappling either, so she wouldn't able to counter or get out of any of King's moves which are very damaging and often times, back to back wrestling moves.
