I never realized that the last group photo with Gene Roddenberry with the cast was taken at the wrap of The Best of Both Worlds Part I.

Great have Elizabeth Dennehy on as a guest for this one. She's pretty awesome and engaging. Cirroc and Ryan did their usual thing to keep the interview flowing along and giving out those well deserved flowers. The FFA was pretty awesome with all the opinions hitting that note of excellence we've come to enjoy from our Associate Producers, great stuff there and the Live Chat with the #ChatPack was rocking along as well. What a crew that #ChatPack, the Next Generation of #ChatFam!

I’m repeating myself alone 10 times: “Separate the saucer section…” so fun to say it out loud.

I grew up in the score to the Best of Both Worlds Soundtrack as a child. I would listen to this and the Best of Star Trek that had different tracks from the first 5 films both on Cassette tape. Ron Jones score is so emotionally driven and memorable. I would play the music score to the Best of Both Worlds over & over and over again. The music never gets old.

This episode didn't start out as the centrepiece of Trek lore. It was simply an episode to resolve the borg invasion, teased in S2's Q Who (the fourth attempt to establish a primary series antagonist after the failure of the Ferengi, the S1E25 Insect creatures, and the Romulans). It was later writers who built on the lore of this episode, who established this episode as the centrepiece event of the Star Trek franchise. It provided material for TNG writers to write about the fallout from this episode (Drumhead, I Borg, Descent, Parallels, the movies) DS9 start came with the Battle of Wolf 359, a core event in Sisko's life. Voyager referenced this episode heavily, particularly after Seven of Nine joined the crew. Picard S3 is a spiritual continuation of this episode, with most of its characters affected if not directly involved in the borg invasion. Lower Decks and Star Trek Enterprise even manage to sneak in a mention. It seems to be an exceptionally popular episode with the fans, the writers and the actors involved in star trek.

I love this episode! I love 2-parters anyway but the fact that it is a 2-parter really lets the story stretch out and allows us those character moments between Riker and Shelby, Picard and Riker, Picard and Guinan etc. I love the tension, the music, the conferences around the table. The safety of our hero ship contrasting with the peril of the situation. I noticed that Riker said the away party was scheduled for dawn, so when Shelby and Data went down to the planet an hour early, they would have been in the dark.🤨 That in itself could have been dangerous. 🤔 Separate. The. Saucer. Section.

I've seen this episode hundreds of times. Wolf 359 means something, but at the same time it has its limits. Perhaps because I was 8 when I saw this? But this time it made me think of shaw. I kept hearing "Space itself was burning". It hit a lot harder than before.

I love the visual effects in this episode and the way the nebula gives vibes of the Mutara Nebula in The Wrath of Khan.

I'm pretty sure it's the same footage. I think DS9 used it as well. It's cheaper to recycle footage that to make new footage.

Always thought should brought back Shelby as guest star again. Or added her to cast. Or of course in movies

Hello all. Im a major Trekkie (Im 53), began with ST4 whale movie but didn't start STTNG till 2nd finale. Watched EVERY series. I really ENJOY these perspective episode reviews with special guest that talk about their perspectives, in-depth details of filming. WOW. Im SUBSCRIBED NOW. I just started watching these episodes, started with Denise Crosby. Now Elizabeth Dennehy . Her last name sounded familiar and didn't realize she is the ;ate Brian Dennehy\s daughter.

I think it was interesting hearing that Wolf 359 is not just a made up location in Star Trek but based upon reality of a real location. I had no idea that it was near another Star. I also loved hear Cirroc say he felt emotions just hearing the terms of Wolf 359 and how it made him feel emotional.

As a kid, I thought there were a couple of times I thought Shelby went too far, but I didn't hate her. I actually liked her. I was searching for strong female characters (without realizing it) back then. It's one of the many reasons I loved Tasha so much.

I feel like you could have made it an hour with Elizabeth alone for part 1. I haven't even seen part 2 yet. I'm guessing it too could have been made another hour. lol It's just hard to fit so much goodness into an hour time slot where the guest is only half the review.
