In Season 1 and Season 2 Carl was 12 years old and In Season 3 He’s 13 years old. This episode takes place over days 295 - 297 after the Zombie Apocalypse began. The Season 2 finale happened on Day 83 after the Zombie Apocalypse began so there is a time jump of 212 Days (7 months and 2 days) between 2x13 and 3x01 which is nearly 8 months. Rick’s been awake from his coma for 238 (7 months and 28 days) days now so it’s been a time jump. He woke up on Day 59 which is about 2 months.

The title of the episode Seed refers to when Hershel suggests that they plant seeds to grow tomatoes cucumbers and soy beans within the prison yards.

The characters go through so much this season, it’s a great one. All of the main cast gets little moments to shine

They were talking about the baby when they said little Shane. The entire group knows he baby isn't ricks because at the time of lori finding out she was pregnant was only 3 to 4 weeks after the first season, meaning the pregnancy was well over 4 weeks along for it show properly. Meaning the baby was in fact Shane's. Hence th nickname Little Shane having quite the appetite.

Can we all just take a moment and observe how awesome the first minutes of the episode plays out. Not a single word is spoken but we can see so much about what the characters have gone through since the end of Season 2. We can see that a significant amount of time has passed which is 8 months given the way the characters have grown and facial hair (Hershel) They have gotten a lot more experience and are working together as a great team We can tell by how well organized search of the house is done by all. They have bonded and are growing closer to each other Great scene and great job by the actors conveying all of this.

AH THE QUEEN IS HERE!!! The most iconic samurai to hit tv has just rolled up and I was so here for it. Seriously if your building a team of walker fighting badasses it's Michonne in the top 5 every time. Yeah at this point in the show I was the captain of The We Hate Lori Fan Club so I can not blame anyone for hating her right now. And this was coming from someone who made excuses for her especially when it came to her vs Shane. Don't get me wrong it's always Team Lori over Team Shane over here. But last season what she did to Rick in the finale pissed me off. Not having his back after his best friend in the world tried to kill him gave me the ick.

Great reaction guys. This episode was a great opener to Season 3, the group have become more skilled and confident killing the walkers even little Carl with his silencer on his gun has stepped up and become a good little shot. It was good to see them in action working as a team and clearing that prison field then the prison yard. I remember when I first watched this thinking they'd cleared most of the walkers on the outside of the prison and thinking there can't be that many inside, how wrong I was until I saw there were plenty on the inside in the darkened prison corridors/hallways. Lori's getting ready to give birth, but Hershel is needed so that's a problem already, will the birth wait? Andrea is being looked after by our sister with the "katana" (a Japanese sword) and her pet walkers and now poor Hershel messed up stepping over that walker and was badly bitten on the back of his leg. That scene with Rick chopping off Hershel's leg with no pain killers or anesthetic is horrific and painful, I still can't really watch it again and again without grimacing and must have been scary for those prisoners who popped up at the end witnessing this as well as our group. The question now is, will it work or has the infection set in and spread already??? Guess you'll find out soon. P.S. Completely disagree Phrophet, Lori WAS NOT in love with Shane and even told him so more than once. The last scene of S2 Ep13 when she pushed and shoved Rick away, that only happened when she found out Carl had to put Shane down, she only reacted shocked and went quiet when Rick told her he had to kill Shane and wanted to kill him and wanted it to be over and was probably looking for her support and approval. Remember she did what she did with Shane because she thought her husband was dead, not because she openly cheated on him, she attached herself to the strongest male in the group who she thought could protect her son and herself and that was Shane and was probably looking for comfort when she thought Rick was gone - was it too soon being only being a few weeks, YES, I think so, but she had no reason to be faithful anymore as she thought Rick had passed away. Remember how angry she was with Shane when she found out Rick was alive and she angrily said to him down by the lake telling him to stay away from her son and herself, she turned and said "YOU were the one who told me he was DEAD", which shocked the audience until we all saw the flashback later and realised he did actually go back for Rick and tried to save him, but didn't hear a heartbeat after all the machinery was knocked out probably from a bomb or explosion and he could not hear a heartbeat when he put his ear to his chest, but pushed the bed against his room door to keep him protected and I think he did that just in case or to protect his body. The only one in love (apart from Maggie & Glenn) was Shane,😆 even when he wouldn't drop it at the farm and told Lori he loved her she apologised and told him she didnt love him, never did and it wasn't real and he kept on going on it was real. She could have carried on with him secretly if she really loved him or told Rick she was in love with Shane and left Rick, but she didn't do that and she even came clean and told Rick about her and Shane at the farm and he told her he knew, so she hasn't been hiding anything from Rick, she came clean and has been open about her mistake. Even in the flashback when she was at Carl's school and her friend asked her if she still loves Rick she says "I'm asking myself that a lot and I think the answers YES, it's just I'm trying to remember how that works, maybe the only real problem we have is we got married so young", so she questioned that love herself, BUT still said YES she loves him and finally when Lori tells Rick about Shane in the tent when she's hugging him from behind, she said to him in his ear "you'd kill the living to protect whats yours" and Rick said "thats right", then she whispers in his ear like shes trying to sow a seed about Shane almost as though she's hinting he needs to be killed, saying "Shane thinks I'm HIS, he thinks the baby is HIS, and he says you can't protect us, that you're gonna gets us killed, he's dangerous Rick and he won't STOP", then it pans out with that look in Rick's eyes of a quiet anger and evil in Rick's eyes? Look back at what she says, I'll remind you again, she whispers in Ricks ear "you'd kill the living to protect whats yours" - why would Lori say that, that's NOT something you say about someone you're suppose to love.🤔 What is she sowing there in Rick's head, remember, she said to Rick ..."he's DANGEROUS and he won't stop...". However, if you and AJ want to believe and kid yourself and be in denial she was in love with Shane, that's your prerogative, but the majority of people including myself who have watched the show before, do not hold that opinion, but I respect both of yours - still love your reaction(s) though guys!
