Fan Ice company is owned by the white man and always has been. As of December 31, 2003 its top shareholders are the Danish investors Fan Milk International Denmark. As at 2013 the Abraaj Group and Danone (Europe) became joint owners of Fan Milk with each of them having 51% and 49% stake in Fan Milk respectively. Danone became a majority shareholder in 2016. On July 30, 2019, Danone acquired the remaining 49% shares of Abraaj to increase its stake to 100%. The Abraaj Group was founded by Pakistani businessman Arif Naqvi and was based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Conclusion - Fan Milk Limited was the first foreign invested company in Ghana to become a Public Limited Liability in 1967 and among the first Companies to be listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange Fan Ice has never been owned by Ghanians. The White man profits from the mass majority of all the stock and profits with Fan Milk International Denmark receiving 7,365,955 shares (37.23%) and the Danish Industrialization Fund For Developing Countries with 4,954,420 shares (25.04%), and the Enterprise Insurance Company with 1,978,472 shares (10%).

Fan ice cream is in Nigeria as well. I’m surprised to hear the vendor doesn’t know his product is made locally. No way that ice cream is imported. The local market isn’t for everyone, can be stressful if you’re not used to it; it definitely makes me appreciate the people (particularly women) who have to live that life everyday to support their families. Well done Anna, I heard you speak little twi with the lady, keep it up.

Most Ghanaians identify one or two clothes sellers out of the lot, get their numbers and call them to get good selections ahead of time. Kwame Banana can get Kevin and Micah good clothes, and someone else can get for you and Sophie. You just go straight to them and pick up your order.

Yea it’s a hassle buying clothes in Ghana, abroad you are able to try them on in a fitting room, and also return them if you don’t like them, no such thing in Ghana. Also, I was told that the second hand lingerie is often even taken off dead people, washed, and shipped in barrels to Ghana so BEWaRE! By the way you’re doing great with the Twi, try to haggle with the sellers a bit, don’t always pay the first price they say because they see you are “ obroni” and automatically think you’re rich and double the price. Wow, I couldn’t shop for second hand clothes in Ghana 🇬🇭 or in Africa in general. I saw a documentary which featured foreign clothes donations and several of clothes were disgusting: women’s draws which had stains in them, shoes 👞 with broken heels thrown amongst the clothes that Westerners discarded. It will take people like yourself and others from the diaspora to change the mindset of accepting foreign goods which are cheap and of an inferior quality. Unfortunately, it won’t happen overnight but will take some time to raise the Ghanaian’s national self-respect - self-respect is more powerful than a nuclear weapon. Could you imagine if Africa were to send to Europe people’s dirty, stained draws and shoes with broken heels and have them accept such insulting goods that they don’t want? We need to do much better and believe that they are worthy of respect. Thanks once again Ms Acheampong for another vlog!

Would Westerners accept African people’s stained, disheveled draws and shoes with broken heels 👠? Certainly not! This is what they really think of Africans as impoverished, needy and above all dependent on foreign aid. We have to eradicate this mindset among Africans. We don’t need people’s inferior clothes from the West, or indeed their aid!

Yes but the white man wins again! Fan Ice company: As of December 31, 2003 its top shareholders are the Danish investors Fan Milk International Denmark.

@@deedamsel-cole2551 Even if it's foreign owned it does not change the fact that it's produced locally in Ghana. The understanding Anna got is that it gets produced outside and imported for sale. That wrong. The fanice factories are physically located in Ghana.

@@nenemens Nene sweetheart...You know “produced locally” conjures up feel-good feelings that simply don’t apply in this case. The white man earns millions and billions off Ghanians, not the other way around. “Produced locally” means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things

Thank you for showing us the market and putting up with it! Sadly, many of the clothes sent from the West to Ghana end up in waste landfills and it isn’t disposed correctly, which makes it really toxic and unsustainable for the environment and those living there. There is an account on IG called @theORispresent that raises awareness of the consequences of fast fashion (our everyday brands that have new clothes for every new seasons and follow trends) being sent to Ghana (it’s really sad!). 😥 By the way, I love your videos, how you mention sustainability and how you empower Africa and Ghana. Such a beautiful and humble family! 😄

Hi guys!! Very nice and I agree most definitely. African clothing is phenomenal like us, and it only makes since. On my prom, my date and I wore kente cloth strapped across, I my suit my date had on pants with tang top styled top, all black. Once we arrived at the hotel, all eyes, especially especially the the white students' were on us. It was something I tell you. So African clothing and us?? There's something very sharp going on...love love African clothing. Very very nice guys🤗🤗. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!

Do you not like to shop at the Ghana malls for clothes? Or are they too expensive? Wode Maya interviewed a lady that has a business that turns a lot of those old clothes into new products, she also has a school where she teaches young people how to do the same. Many of the coastal African countries have this problem of clothes dumping from the West. I saw a documentary that showed how the western world basically destroyed many textile businesses because of this used clothes dumping. I think that learning how to repurpose these clothes would be a good business and a way to make Lemons into lemonade. After all, Japan bombed the US with our own leftover steel. It would be nice to create a product out of the used clothes to then sell back to the western world----create a treasure from their trash. Every time I see those ladies carrying all those things on their heads, it reminds me of how weak and lazy we are. We don't even carry our own luggage. lol

I think you'll find the tide is turning in the west. They now realise that all this fast fashion in the west (I.e primark) isn't doing our environment any good so here in Europe people are starting to recycle.
@amberice7383
@amberice7383 3 жыл бұрын
@@FunkyBazaare That is good that people are recycling more. This practice needs to be adopted worldwide. What we really need is more technology incorporated to allow us to truly recycle safely. In general, it seems like we should not have to use any natural resources for at least the next 100 years because of the products we have already used and can recycle/repurpose. Plastic, wood, fabrics, metal, rubber, all of this can be repurposed..... I have champagne ideas with beer money, lol
