Awwwwww I know it was a tough decision but ultimately you have to do what’s best for you guys! I’ve been living in Ghana off and on for 7 years now. I always saying living in Ghana when you are single is really fun and bearable Once I had my kids it just became overwhelming! From shopping to school hunting to safety and u😗overall financially it’s just a lot to deal with. We left Ghana earlier this year and I felt a sense of relief settling back in America. The good thing is Ghana will always be home! Good luck with everything 🙏🏾

You guys do not owe anyone an explanation for your choices but it’s nice to hear about your perspective and experiences in Ghana. I think it’s quite commendable that you moved your whole family there and stayed as long as you did. So many children born abroad never get that experience. I believe most of us watch your videos because we appreciate you guys’ family as a whole so no matter where in the world you are, your supporters will be here. Safe journey back to the Netherlands 🇳🇱! Looking forward to all the new adventures🤎🤎

Kids education (wholesome and complete) is a HUGE factor that determines where you live. When you come from a country where public education is excellent, free and children are easily presented with opportunities, it's almost senseless to exchange that for a system in which you have to pay for providing your children with possibilities that aren't even almost as good. You are right about housing, the simplest housing is affordable in Netherlands and it's still of great quality. The same quality in Ghana costs an arm and a leg. Money matters 😅 and you guys are not financial fools Hope you get to return to Ghana every summer break. Hope you save to build a house you'll retire in some day. I'm all the way in NYC and your channel is the main one that made me fall in love with Ghana and start subscribing to other influencers promoting Ghana pride and love. As a Westerner I can relate that amenities afforded in one place and not easily available in others can be distressing. What is comforting is comforting and there is no compromising in that. On the other hand, I relished watching Sophie and Micha's self-esteem go through the roof. I pray it doesn't frazzle being in a Euro-centric geographical location. I feel Black children (mixed-race and/or other visibly ethnic) should be afforded to grow up in an environment that allows them to thrive, embrace the color of their skin and be proud of their Blackness WITHOUT apology or shame. That is what I'm thinking about the most. Even watching the episode where Kevin talked to the police in the middle of the road during a filming misunderstanding made me see how accommodating Ghana can be. You have to be honest; THAT.WOULD.HAVE.NEVER.HAPPENED.IN.NEW.YORK. And I'm not sure that would happen in The Netherlands. We know what the outcome would have been in the states...Sighing....I wish your family the best and I will still tune in. #LoveToTheAcheampongFamily

I agree. Growing up 30+ years in a particular place does cause you to get used to certain standards. I would love to go to Ghana but I do enjoy a lot of my Western amenities! I couldn't deal with that traffic either with having to get 2 kids ready for school then having to travel a long way 😱

Don’t worry I’m not leaving your channel❣️ you make me appreciate the four years of preparation that my husband and I have done before our move the Lord willing in March of next year. We have a small advantage in that our children are all grown and out of the house so we are able to not have those considerations of school. I look forward to seeing your life in the Netherlands I don’t know much about it you are making me have an idea of documenting our life here in the United States before we move to Ghana so people can see our journey and the difference between our life here in the United States and when we moved to GHANA. I definitely have set up a KZfaq channel to document our move to GHANA so thank you for the idea. May God bless your journey and give you wisdom in every decision you make! If I have any questions I guess it would be about documenting your life in Ghana on KZfaq what were the challenges as far as people not wanting to be on video, the Internet and possibly how the heat affects your equipment. I would also like to know your thoughts and ideas on drones I would like for us to be prepared before we move with the proper equipment well we are still working and it is easier to get what we need. You have to create passive income before relocating to any African country. Secondly mind set is everything. You have to adjust your expectations and allow yourself to assimilate into the culture. Third you learn to live within your means and not compare any of the African nations to western nations. Those are two different beasts! Your kids will forever have Ghana in their hearts. You will feel choked like you've never felt before because you have tasted the freedom of Africa. Even the kids will feel it. Focus on raising enough capital. Get a land in Ghana and lay a foundation while in Holland. Kevin can always shuttle between the two places. It was never going to be easy with 2 very young kids. I ran into this same issue the first time I moved to Ghana. The biggest problem being the mindset. One important thing to note is that Ghana is not abroad. One must desperately adjust their mindset and spending in order to make. At the end of the day, most people leave because they run out of money. And also there really has to be a work-related reason for someone to migrate to Ghana. Not having consistent income coming in will kill the buzz real quick!

Knew you guys would eventually leave. It was always boldly written up there watching you guys along. With no major source of income. It's almost impossible to settle. I wished I was proved wrong. I really enjoyed watching you guys. From inceasant display of calmness to great contents. I am happy for one thing though. I saw the kids having great times of their life. They will never forget that. Good luck!

You are blessed to have had this experience, learned a lot, exposed your children to another culture, you have enriched their lives in ways that you won't see until they are older. Return to the Netherlands, regroup, celebrate the positives and Ghana will be waiting for you. Peace and blessings.

It is tough to live with small children in Ghana especially if they started school abroad. Love you guys. See you in NL soon. Don't let the negative comments impact you. You don't own anybody apology. You can move between GH and NL anytime you want.

Hi family! I just started watching your channel about 3-4 months ago and enjoyed a lot! I applaud you for stepping out of the comforts of home and giving your children the experience of a lifetime! They will forever remember Momma Africa! Life happens in seasons and lessons are wonderful to learn! Growth means taking chances and I know you will continue to do that! And your children will be able to enjoy the world if they wish because you have shown them to “step out” I wish you safe travels home and please show us life in the Netherlands 🇳🇱! Ty for…putting Ghana 🇬🇭 on the map!!! Love you guys! 🙏🏽☮️💟😊🥰☀️🙏🏽

I doubt it... Europe life isn't what majority of the people wants to see, because they already lives it .. they always want something different which they don't have access to.

Omg! I totally understand the moving because of the house. We moved here three weeks ago and I was about to get on a plane to go back because I could not find a house that felt stress free. I finally spoke with my spirit guides and was like- if I’m suppose to be here, please help. We have a beautiful and newly built home and we love it! But I totally understand what you’re talking about. It’s still very much a process.
