The entangling issue in the Armenian-Turkish dispute is the word "genocide" itself. Otherwise, Turkish people are well aware that Armenians have been deported from the lands they live on and many of them perished, too, either at the hands of Turks and Kurds or due to adverse conditions of deportation. But the Turkish thesis is not completely hollow: There was indeed an Armenian rebellion at the time, encouraged by Russians who were at war with Ottomans, and tens of thousands of civilian Turks have indeed been butchered at the hands of Armenian gangs and rebels. But Armenian identity and political discourse even today is so much reliant on "genocide rhetoric" and "Turkish hatred" that any attempts to develop relationships between the two peoples is doomed to failure

Racism isn't just about skin color. 200 years ago, The Irish, were not considered to be "white" by the British. They were often lumped in with black people as if they were a different race, "No Blacks or Irish allowed" Jews were treated pretty much the same. The concept of "race" has more to do with purity then skin color. If you had Irish blood, You were not "pure" and therefore you weren't white. The Nazis viewed the Jews as a different race. People with blonde hair and blue eyes were considered the apex race, yet Hitler himself didn't have blonde hair and blue eyes. So for the Nazis, race wasn't just about what your hair color or skin color was. Race is an ambiguous term. and people who say "Islam is not a race" are just using that as a convenient "out" to dismiss discrimination against muslims.
