My auntie moved to Rhyl about 45 year ago when it was a nice place to live . About a mile from the train station in the opposite direction to the beach . Moved back away after about 10 year 😂
@dougaldouglas884212 күн бұрын
My aunt moved to Rhyle some years ago, around the nineteen forties, and it was a very sedate, quite place. Come the late seventies and it began to change, massively. The train that went round the lake at Kimnel Bay disappeared, and the fair ground went, ended up just a derelict site, for years. The entire atmosphere changed. Not there is a feeling of unease in the day, and very frightening at night with all the drunks shouting in the city centre, a veritable madhouse

@@alisonlaing5626I used to love Rhyl in the late 70s and 80s it was always chocker and the fairground always had queues for the best rides, it was becoming a ghost town early 90s when they started charging exorbitant prices for hotel stays and caravans and high ground rents for statics on the campsites around Rhyl, people would go abroad instead because it was cheaper in some places like Spain.
@dougaldouglas884212 күн бұрын
My grandmother moved to Rhyle when it was sedate. A lovely place to live, then in the late seventies it began to change to what is so shameful. One of the first things was building on every inch of land, and even, just over the blue bridge, bungalows built up toward the sea wall, and the city centre crammed, felt like it was pushing in on itself, the road narrowed to accommodate the expanse. It became a dive, and as I write this I have not seen your footage, but will not be at all taken aback if it still is a dive,

Its a shame whats happened to rhyl as it used to be a great town and had a brilliant night life but as times gone on the big shops moved out and all the pubs and clubs closed down. Add to that a clueless council who have just spent over 11 million on a new small shopping centre on the front that now they cant get anybody to run or fill it so now its sat doing nothing. Like most seaside towns its become a dumping ground for the all the worst and lost in society and its really starting to show , unfortunately Rhyl is finished.

Nothing has changed, and still a building site. There is a little bit of a prom toward Kimnel Bay, where the fair ground stood, stood there for many years, and opposite, where the lake is, there used to be a train that went round it. If you go out into town, of a night, be careful, its shouting and bawling, and hotels closed their doors when it all kicks off

Rhyls great. These r not locals, and the sea defense build is playing a vital role in keeping the sea at bay so we're not under water in 10 years. U went down an alleyway 2 record rubbish, and visited the town early morning. I cud walk thru Rhyl morning noon or night and feel safe. It's no worse than the decline of other seaside resorts. We are a very deprived area, but home is what u make it, if people aren't happy, then they can clear on out and make a better life 4 themselves elsewhere. Instead of bitching about it. DCC r divs tho, if they got locals wiv lived experience 2 make decisions, then they might start benefitting the town. Proud rezo rat xxx

He chased his ex partner & their neighbours with a knife. Not the other way around. Why would he be given compensation, I felt sorry for the police man! Guy was going his job to protect those who he was trying to attack! Hes vile! Always has been & has no intention of wanting to change! He plays the victim very well 👏🏻 he’s ruined a lot of lives. Not having a go but I think it's wrong dumping these people with complex needs in struggling seaside towns that have no money or resources to support them. Seaside towns were already struggling with decreased visitors. No offence but families don't want to go to run down places full of people with substance abuse issues. This policy is kicking seaside towns when they were already down.
