Ichigo is one of my favourite shounen protagonists, because he doesn't aspire to become something huge. He doesn't want to become Hokage, be the Pirate King or become the strongest character in his universe or anything like that. His only goal is to teach those a lesson, that dare hurt his friends

@@roytheviewer4893 how is that not a specific goal lol he unlike the characters used in comparison lived a regular life went to school up until the events that start up the story. their experiences and the world they lived in is what shaped their goals (hokage pirate king). ichigo lost his mom right in front of him and couldn't do a thing to prevent it and so swears to protect his family to prevent that from happening again. as he got introduced to more things and people that expanded, but it doesn't make it any less of a goal.

I just always get the feeling that despite how often we're told how powerful Ichigo is, we never see it. We get a glimmer here and there, but never just him showing off just how powerful he really is.

Ichigo isn't about becoming his peak potential. He doesn't set off to learn more abilities. If he needs to protect he will learn more bur nothing like a Naruto or other MC. Also his power pools are connected. So his abilities aren't separated into 4 types it's one soul. Ichigo just isn't that. I like that he never really wanted to be member of the goetai 13. So it's more of he can be OP but won't ever shown it like some want

@@holloify_tensa_zangetsu It was okay up to the Azien/Ichigo fight, as you saw him grow. After that, it felt like he became a minor character. Oh, he's really powerful, but why even bother showing it when the goetai is at stake.

At 1:06:44 Ichigo didn't fire a Getsuga that time, that was just a sword swing showing that he had gained so much power that his sword swings were as strong as his old Getsuga Tenshous

What makes Ichigo a legacy character is that he uses his epic hybrid power to do what's right and help others even if it means going against his nominal allies Soul Society and their rigid, corrupt system. And to think they very nearly turned him into a mutilated puppet to be harvested and used as a battery. Sure some may be put off by his savior role but hey, suffice to say you're safer with him and his human friends than with the others.

I'm actually glad that the Quincies almost destroyed the Soul Society. It's been proven many times that the Soul Society and Soul Reapers are corrupt and not the good guys. Yhwach was going to end it all right there. Too bad he didn't succeed

Notice Soul Society's nobles usually turn out to be THE worst psychopaths tripping on their power and status, Tokinada being among the nastiest. As Aizen of all people said Soul Society has a lot to answer for and probably will someday.

@@-0m3rcy0-8 yup, that was an intentional flaw Kubo created. In the TYBW arc if you remember, Ichigo told Zangetsu that, "from now on I won't ask for your help, from on I will fight for myself". Ichigo never fought for himself which was I believe perfectly executed by Kubo.

Ichigo is probably one of the most normal Shonen protagonists. I think that in itself makes him special, and makes him as good of a character as Naruto or Luffy or other Shonen protagonists. I know that people have always used his sorta "goaless" nature as being bad, but that's what made him more relatable and more likeable. And when you've finally seen all the plot, you realize that Ichigo wasn't just "randomly" powering up with little effort you begin to really understand his development as a character. Especially with how big of an internal struggle he had when he was getting stronger. Of course, not everyone reads the manga and not everyone sees lines that aren't told in clear pictures to them. If you really weren't paying attention and just watching Bleach for those big shonen fights, you wouldn't understand the great plot of Bleach.

And this goal still does support the idea that he is an incredibly relatable and normal Shonen protagonist when it comes to his driving factors.

Ichigo Kurosaki the only Shinigami, Quincy and hollow hybrid. Goes from ordinary human to one of the most badass Soul Reapers. Always fights for the right reasons and is willing to defends everyone even his own enemies.

What if that one guy who dose the laugh pose becomes a hollow but due to the extensive knowledge ichigo gave to him he becomes something else. Highlighting the reason the soul society wipes memories. And it would be cool to see him come back as a hollow and do his laugh.

We all have our inner demons, sometimes it gets us in trouble but it also helps us understand the importance of being human , because when we suppress those feelings that is when you become a true warrior. But....sometimes it's nice to just let loose, as a great man once said violence doesn't solve your problems because you just aren't using enough of it

Such a great anime/manga. Although Soul Society had alot to offer and had alot of well done characters, my only gripe I really wish Kubo did more with Ichigos friends. From when Orihime was kidnapped to when they saw ichigos battle with Azien. To when we entered the Full bringer arc. RIP that goes for chad and orihime too.

With how quickly you got to, and finished explaining the Aizen arc it made him seem SO much less significant. As I remember the show Aizen was totally the most badass and hyped villain of any show ever. They really should have revealeed Aizen later, or just ended the show after him.
