The best oil to use on any engine is Motorkote: it is the only oil on the planet literally that is 100% anti-friction and it bonds itself to the metal the oil cost $100 like per gallon but it’s totally worth it do you won’t have to change the oil for at least five years and it protects the engine

As a o/o over the road driver. For the new drivers , don’t carry enough tools To change a transmission or any major job because you are not going to be doing that on the side of the road anyway. But keep clamps light bulbs and enough tools to change belts and hoses. Listen if your an owner operator and you can’t afford to get your truck fixed then you are working at the wrong place. Keep trucking be courteous to other drivers and God bless you and be safe.

“If you are an owner operator and can’t afford to fix your truck, you are at the wrong place”. I halfway agree on that. I know a guy that was an owner operator for Mercer. He paid off his truck AND he paid off a flatbed trailer through Mercer. Never had anything over $200 in his maintenance account. Well he blew the head gasket and completely fawked up the engine...he practically melted part of it! Couldn’t afford to fix it so he sold it for $5000 and now he’s over the road driving for $800 a week and miserable as heck. I don’t get it. He had no payments for over six months and didn’t even have anything saved up...

As a O/O for 25 years My advice is don't buy a truck if you can't turn any wrenches a driver needs to have tool skills and a mechanical concept of repair. NEVER DO LEASE PURCHASE ITS A SCAM. Ive never done a lease purchase, lease purchase means you don't have money and chances are no concept of business. . Fuel is your biggest expense then tires. Older trucks to avoid DEF isn't good buisness base on over the road vs local running Ive owned Freightliner, kenworth Volvo and currently a 2019 Mack From Cats, to Detroit's to D13 ,M8 again fuel economy and comfort its key. The engine and transmission spec to your work. This is my opinions Be profitable and safe.

I especially loved the part where he said a dealer will often change the oil before selling the truck ; ) I did not know to check for oil sitting in the injector socket either. The question I would have asked him is how do you find out if you have a good or bad heater core and if the head gasket is blown.

Don't buy a used truck from one of the used truck dealers that buys trucks from a auction. The auction yard typically sells the truck for less than sixteen thousand dollars and move trucks to their used truck dealers yard and they will sell the truck for thousands more than they paid. Don't buy from these guys. Go to an auction and just observe do this first observe what trucks sell for. Look and listen for problems and just observe what trucks sell for. Finding metal in that filter means its doing its job, don't assume that the pump is going bad. Its possible that the pump was changed already and that's leftover from trying to clean the tanks out. I noticed a frame mount filter which will catch anything before actually going into the fuel module. Its also possible, that truck in the video has already experience a pump failure and that's why the frame mounted filter is there.

I’m 99.9% sure that’s LRM, Pompano Beach location. Ive bought 2 trucks from them already and i can honestly say I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get in a truck then talk to them! My first experience was so good that on the 2nd truck I went ahead and got it without even checking it out in person until the day I picked it up. One truck 140k miles on one and around 175k on my 2nd. Other than PMs I’ve bought a starter. You won’t find better people to work with. I plan to buy one from them sometime in 2022. They even offer a 3 day exchange policy if you aren’t fully satisfied! I worked with Chris both times, awesome guy. Check ‘em out!!

I'd also put a tube on the radiator overflow and place it in a bottle with water allow it to run and if you see bubbles in the water the head gasket is most likely blown , I'd also look at the engine blow by that is also an indication of the engines condition.

High pressure pump failure is more on the 10 thousand dollar range, if you find yourself in that situation always check manufacturer warranty, usually it’s around 500,000 and they will do it the correct way. The fuel quantity control valve is not to bad unless you have a short noise then the labor rate is a lil higher. Don’t know if that helps anybody figured I’d put it out there

Hey, I like your vlogs and the details you share. I would like to request you to make a video on problems that are frequently faced by truckers in USA and Canada. I would also like you to talk about the impact and sensitivity of those issues and what is the right way to address those issues or overcome those problems.vtrust me it will help a lot of new truckers...thank you

Even though this is 2 years old I still learned something. However I noticed that the guy clearly didn't talk about the DEF filter. Oh that's right he's a repairman and a dealer he doesn't want to let anybody know that that's one of the biggest ongoing scams in the country that nobody wants to clean or replace because it's 6K to clean and 10K to replace the filter. I wonder why he never mentioned that as a person selling the vehicle to new customers.

Really appreciate these videos man. I left NC as a police officer and have been freezing my ass off in the oilfield in ND for the last 3 years to get back on my feet. Any guidance on someone I can speak with directly for some more tips and insight?

The best oil to use on any engine is Motorkote: it is the only oil on the planet literally that is 100% anti-friction and it bonds itself to the metal the oil cost $100 like per gallon but it’s totally worth it do you won’t have to change the oil for at least five years and it protects the engine

The first thing I recomend is ensuring you witness a cold start, i.e.engine temperature below 80°F oe cooler. I bought an Astro Van and Freightliner Century when both engines at operating temperature when I shoed up. Masked a much needed tune-up on the Astro Van and ab Engine Position Sensor on the Cummins N14 C120.
