Bad reviews or not, this is pretty much exactly how I remember Venom talking... and behaving... all the time. That's what made his interactions with Spidey some of the best... both had sharp wit, but while Spidey was a smart mouth, Venom has a really odd sense of humor and choice of wording that always contrasted with Spidey beautifully. Spidey is more smarmy and cocksure, while Venom is more simple, violent, and.. gross... but in a odd, funny way that only Venom can achieve. Pretty on par representation of the character to be honest, its just Venom's personality and humor probably doesn't resonate with critics or the general audience as well as other characters, like Deadpool.

Critics can be wrong as well (or just have a different taste in movies) but at least they are professionals who usually know their stuff. DC movies are the greatest example! (it also works the other way round where you get some groundbreaking and ambitious movies but the audience rating is low because "boring, not enough action")

Venom eats it all. What venom eats goes through venom and the nutrients are shared between them. What eddie eats is also shared with Venom. So no, eddie doesnt eat them, Venom does. His body allows him to break things down instantaneously to convert into biomass.

I don't mind the dialogue, its funny and reminiscent of Lethal Protector and such, but no one is gonna ask what happened to the guy?? He disappeared completely, no trace of him or anything after Eddie was leaving the store. That is shoddy filmmaking. Maybe it was an edited scene, possibly being more graphic or maybe he ate him completely, but the way the lady reacted and the quick cuts with no lingering on her on what's supposed to be a horrific moment happening right in front of her eyes (regardless of her being robbed at gunpoint)... it feels super flat and odd.
