I love how Kibbe takes style conversation beyond "on trend/off trend" into true design: questions of shape, proportion, scale, and even pliability (of hair and fabric)!

My lovely theatrical romantics : use hair rollers. They give body, mouvement and volume to the hair. Depending on the diameter and styling, you can have your hair curly, wavy or straight with mouvement.

I have what i am quite sure to be a Soft natural body and have dressed pretty much accordingly since the beginning of my kibbe journey 4 years ago. I could never quite understand why i looked so bad though because i was sure that i needed simple, casual looks with very little ornament and makeup. Hair was always in a wash and go state. But recently i took a liking in the retro glamour style and started incorporating advised garments, jewerly, hairstyle and makeup... the GLOW UP, you have no idea. I get compliments all the time, men and women show me more respect. I just look better than i ever did. I find that anything like looks antique, dainty and shiny works wonders. 30s inspired garments and makeup and hair make me look incredible (sorry if that sounds arrogant but i always let myself go with the most simple looks that just never gave me any justice, so i am just discovering at almost 32 my potential!). I can finally pull off my coppery hair well now that my hair is always blown out in a wavy fashion with pink makeup on my cheeks (when i always looked sick before because i was doing none of that) I took several burlesque classes and the teacher told me i looked vintage. When i asked why, she said it was in my face, hair, body and gestures. I hadnt even noticed that i was hourly shaped because it turns out that my hips are not the widest part but the top of my legs ("full thighs"). And i used to never act graciously because i was always too casual for that. I discovered that my essences must be romantic, classic and perhaps ethereal, when i realized that i was quite similar to lana del rey. This is quite a long message but my aim was to show you that you can have a body type and still look so so much better if you follow the advice for another type, because the face is still more important than the body.

I'm a theatrical romantic but have zero hair skills. I've tried all those no-heat curl methods and I'm not skilled enough even for the simplest ones ☹. If anyone knows hairstyles that are at the level someone would expect of a 6-year-old please tell me! I have thin silky hair but a lot of it so it looks thick and my hair is pretty much straight and doesn't have much volume. My hair changes from shoulder to under-boob length. I don't like using heat on my hair and I look best when there's some wave in my hair.

A soft leather beret saves me. It has been the best thing I ever own. It falls in lovely waves. It gives a certain character and looks great with either long wool coat or leather biker jacket and doesnt even look goth if one adds a long skirt or dress. And with a pair of right sunnies.

Yes! Soft Gamine can have so many nuances. I'm a soft gamine, but for me, that translates into a romantic, ethereal gamine (no ingenue, but definitely have touches of romantic as well as ethereal). I look silly in overly ornate or "coiffed" hair, being primarily a rounded gamine. Even though there are "no angles in me," I'm slim and have a narrow, delicate bone structure. Therefore, I love feathery, wispy hair with some "air" and a touch of rebellion or subversiveness, creativity, but not loud. I have to mix my elements in a way that's difficult to explain. If my forehead is completely closed with long, brow-skimming bangs, I need to pile my hair up in a cute side roll or crown braids or maybe two low braids (ethereal). If I have those super cool baby or micro bangs, or delicate curtain bangs opening part of the forehead, I can have feathery, narrow, airy hair around my face, better wispy. The wisps cannot be too thick as in many short chunky layers on top my head. But I can pile it up in a roll or crown braids. Need narrow wisps, and I think narrow stripes in a medium contrast might be cool! I need asymmetry if not using the baby bangs. I hope any of this was helpful if part of it relates to you. I used The Hairstyler.com, and it morphed my face sometimes so I cried laughing, but it gave me a good idea of how to release my inner electricity through my hairstyle, God willing, without having an older hairstyle.

I‘m confuuuused. I‘m a soft summer TR, so my natural coloration is soft and muted. My hair is on the „darker“ side for soft summers. Mousebrown. Does that mean that if I wanted to go lighter I should go to a light blonde? I always though I should stay on the soft/muded side.

Think about it this way, your hair is a frame for your face, so an out of season hair color is going to create unwanted effects on the skin on your face. Many TR are contrasted seasons (so maybe it's worth exploring if you have your type right) but let's say you are a muted TR. Those bright hair colors will not flatter you nor will the contrasted color wardrobe recommendations. Kibbe body type for the cut and style of your clothes, color analysis for the colors of the clothes. It's simple actually, but confusing if you are outside of the box. Knowing your Kitchener essence will help if you're not a stereotypical kibbe type.

IMO Romantics are soft, lush and curvy (or double curved). Theatrical Romantics are just a little bit sharper or smaller. I would like to say "dramatic", but it is wrong, since "dramatic" means tall, but compared to R, TR can wear a little bit more constructed and structured pieces than R, who look best in softer fabrics and make up.

She definitely is a theatrical romantic because she looks good with theatrical romantic clothes/dresses. Many posts about her on the Kibbe subreddit. Most pics Aly used were outdated as she was just showing off different hairstyles. Selena Gomez also has ingenue essence
@senhorainvisivel2072
@senhorainvisivel2072 3 ай бұрын
@@Maria.Aurelia she doesn't look good. She looks better in gaminish type of clothes. People really need to learn how to think critically and stop falling for authority fallacies. It's not because "the authority" said that it's absolutely true, as for the same authority has wronged himself many times. Look, people. Look and you'll see. She distinguished herself from all other TRs in all groups of pictures, both face and body. The reason she looks good in dark waved and defined hair is because she has high contrast (in color analysis and in the gamine family recommendations) plus being in the soft spectrum. Those are recommendations for TRs because we have dramatic undercurrent (definition). But Selena can put on a lot of gaminish styles and not look old and misplaced as a true TR would. Everytime she tries on TRs recomentations she looks like a teenager going to her ball, as for TRs look like full adult women, sometimes even risking looking older than their age, with defined bones under a thin but soft skin. Selena doesn't have this type of thin skin. She is all softness and can easily put on the little doll persona that is so easy for soft gamines.
@Maria.Aurelia

@@senhorainvisivel2072 I understand what you’re saying. I also have a baby face like her so I can understand the whole looking like I’m a teenager going to a ball. People still think I’m 18 lol. No one at work takes me serious at times. 😂 I still think she looks good in certain TR dresses. Im a soft classic with ingenue essence also. I relate a lot to Selena. I think it’s just a matter of perspective. Some people like her in certain things, some won’t
