@@tomass3594 Oh yah man Platinum was probably up there for me. My list would be different but it's because when I look at a Pokemon game, I take different things into account, my list would look like this: GOAT: XY - I found GTS to be the best community thing they did, I loved the character editor (This hooks me every time it's in a game), the new Pokemon, how many you had access to before the 3rd gym, how easy things were made to be like EV/IV training and breeding. As he said in his vid, it was the game that allowed me entry into Competitive Pokemon. S: Platinum - You know why lol. It was everything that made DP great with more Fire Types lol. A: B/W, HG/SS, Emerald and OR/AS: Both expanded upon what made their predecessors great, but both also didn't complete what should have been the goal. HG/SS suffered from terrible level scaling and still didn't finish Kanto in full. OR/AS made real free flight possible but wouldn't add the battle frontier and even mocked fans B: Every Game not listed. C: Sw/Sh - It's average, painfully so. This to me is actually an E tier game, but it's an E because it's so average, not even average as a Pokemon game, just, average... D: S/M - This was a slog, I had to force myself through this game to prepare for US/UM, only to find out they were just the same game over again... I hated the addition of regional forms, mainly because it didn't improve on older pokemon, the original versions still suck... S/M was so bad for me that I didn't bother to give US/UM a chance... I haven't played B2/W2 but I'm considering it, because I hear they're the best ones from a lot of people. I certainly love the graphics. S/M and Sw/Sh for me are also disappointing because as said above, I am a sucker for character creation and these games did very little to improve on that... Especially with the lack of hair options for males. They should really be at the point where gender is a non factor to the hair and clothes you can pick, like Tem Tem. I want my Afro Damn IT!

nope don't waste money on a switch, get an ds lite with a GBA slot and get emerald, platinum or black/white. Heartgold/soul silver and firered/leafgreen are also really good. Main benefit is with that one ds you can play every single game I just listed, and if you wanna do any of the trade stuff buy another and you're set

John West Am I the only one who enjoyed Generation 8! It’s not as good as some of the others but I still enjoy it and consider them to be good buys for the Switch, the national dex not being included isn’t even horrible either, you don’t use half the Pokémon in the national dex, the only bad part of it being cut imo is that they chose some mediocre Pokémon instead of the great ones, thanks for coming to my TEDTalk

Pokemon X was my real introduction to the series, so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. Although not my favourite, it's still a great game. Recently however, I started Pokemon Y and it sucks.

Emerald was my intro into pokemon. It was on my cousin's folding box-gameboy one. Back then i didnt even speak English. He got himself a PSP so i often lend me the gameboy with the disk. And it was my childhood.

TyroRex As a kid I preferred Ho-oh so I got heartgold then I caught the level 70 Lugia then I started to prefer it so I got soulsilver aswell

@matt fahringer I've got an Emerald story for you as well my friend. After I caught a 1% Wailord, I decided to hunt another 1% for the lols. Chimeco to be exact. I looked for hours and before the darn thing appeared, a shiny shuppet sparked before. Then I found the chimeco. Pokémon is great hahaha

My favorite is probably Black2 and Ultra Sun, amazing Legendaries, great soundtrack, Epic moments, also these 2 generations have legendaries who can fuse with another, how is it not cool?! Easy S tier.

To be honest, I really enjoyed sword and shield, a lot more than other games. Although there is negatives like the dex being cut, they are really well designed and I found a lot of positives. Just imo though.

I don't understand the big hate for pokemon swsh. Yeah ok, you can dislike it but some people are exagerating. There were great Pokemons (Snom, Sobble, Fossils ) and the story was neat. (Except Team Yell) I respect other peoples opinion but you need to explain why? (Thank you for reading)

Also, even the Main team was good, sure they are average, but they are way better than some old teams, like team galactic (who is trash and the worst villains in the franchise) or team magma and aqua

@@gionnibravo2907 For people who have played the entire series (like me) it is a big step in the wrong direction. Those are the people the negative opinions come from. There's only one good new idea in the entire game which is the wild area. The story is even more half-assed than usual. The villain isn't even remotely memorable. And the Pokemon are ok at best. I hope this explains some things.

After playing arceus my interest in this series has been reignited, and I’m sad to find it very difficult to gain access to the older games even a lot of the ds games are very expensive to obtain and most aren’t available to download as far as I can tell… I guess the best way to play thorough them would be any of the many emulations available right? If anyone knows other ways to obtain them I’d be interested.

If you’re looking to play the Games from GameBoy - Advanced then I’d recommend using eclipse for emulation. They support SNES - GameBoy Games. I know you said DS, but this is what I’ve used when it came to old Pokémon games.

Ive been playing pokemon since they hit the shelves (on my old school tamagochi graphics) and i can say id definitely change this list due to what you could find in every game.
