He is from Kentucky. He has been writing song's for everybody else for year's. His wife had to talk em into singin' on stage to everybody else. Thank God she did. He's been sangin and playin' since he was 6 year's old.

I thought this same thing! Every time I hear him collab I think he holds back, he can easily over power the person he sings with but instead he lets the other person shine just as bright. It’s amazing!

Kentucky and moved to Nashville to write music. He wrote a bunch of songs for other artists then decided to do it himself. He is a natural born God given blessed singer. He is amazing in any performance. Influenced by Aretha, Maves Stapes, and on and on. I would suggest What Are You Listening To? Death Row, Tennessee Whiskey and the live performance from CMA 2018 with Maves Staples. Enjoy this rabbit hole. His wife Morgana sings with him too.

To compound on what Angela said......his wife is the one that said stop writing for others and get on stage to sing your songs yourself! And luckily, he listened. He's a big fan of Freddie King, too. Shows in his blues music.

He got his start by writing #1 hits for most of Nashville for 10 years before he ever started producing his on vocals on his songs. His pedigree was the highest you could want before he ever sung a note and after he sung a note now everyone compares everything to him. God was showing off when he made Chris.

He’s from Kentucky. He’s a song writer, and written hundreds of songs many recorded by big artists. His wife finally talked him into going on his own. He doesn’t think he’s really good as a guitarist. He was in a rock band called The Jompson Bros, and a bluegrass group called The Steeldrivers. Good music with both groups.

Chris has been a song writer for over two decades for main Nashville! He also played in several bands, a blue grass band called “The Steeldrivers” and he also had a rock band. He is JUST now over the past three years FINALLY got the recognition of main stream country but he is the TRUTH! He is truly the future of music, so raw and so talented! His first song I ever heard was “what are you listening to” find a live version it’s so good!

Chris was born in Kentucky I believe, but he was a pretty successful ghostwriter for quite a few artists before his wife Morgane talked him into entering his own music career. He actually sings a lot of songs with her as well, with her providing back up vocals. Some of the live shows he does he does with her, and she literally gave us his career. We all should thank that woman.

I like you two have become swept up by the amazing talent this man has and the passion he ignited in you when u listen to him. Am traveling from PA TO FLA to see him live with my sister because this amazing songwriter has made my bucket list in less than three months. I have to see this guy and I need a witness to see it with me. I just know it’s gonna be epic. I have seen from Prince to Slayer in concert and have over 200 concert experiences. tasteful agree - he doesn't overplay, his solo's always seem to breath. they fit the context of the song they are in. the solo in Tennessee Whiskey is very simple but fits perfectly

Chris is from Kentucky. He moved to Nashville, TN and starting writing music. He has written top hits for many well-known artists. He was in a band with the Jompson Brothers (kinda a southern rock thang), then with the SteeDrivers (an alternative Blue Grass band), and then finally went solo.

Chris’ vocal runs are so raw and emotional and that guitar tone is so good. The continuous vibrato during his solo is wonderful. I’ve been working on learning his technique. Dude is my current favorite musician/singer.

Grew up in Kentucky, now lives in Nashville. Wrote many hit songs for other people, and didnt emerge as a singer or get radio play until 5ish years ago. He markets himself as mainly a country singer, but no matter what you call it, or what genre it is, he just a legend. His wife Morgane sings harmony on his tracks and is quite the singer herself, and they have a few kids together

He has a God given talent with his voice, his writing abilities and playing the guitar. He write some really cool songs! He’s able to say things that others can’t. And he has such diversity in his writing. He has to be able to read people and watch what people go through in order to write some of the songs I think.

I know a lot of people have recommended it but “Sometimes I Cry” live at The Bing Lounge is an absolute must! Just a beat up acoustic guitar and THAT VOICE! It’s beautiful. He’s got a great catalog but I love “Death Row”, “Millionaire”, “Whiskey and You” and “The Last Thing I needed, First Thing This Morning” is phenomenal.
