Wow, Durso. I also confronted my family about what happened to me as a preteen. My grandmother said “what do you want me to do about it, slit my wrists?” All of my aunts went into research to disprove the facts. The mother of my cousin who did it to me didn’t want to sit down with me. Instead, her and said cousin called my brother to talk about me and how he didn’t do it. My godfather tried to hit on me once he saw me in a vulnerable state. Everyone stopped speaking to my mother who defended me. Everyone on that side looks like a happy family meanwhile my mom and I are seen at outcasts. It’s still a difficult situation to be content with, but I will say I don’t have any anger towards anybody nor does it keep me up at night anymore. I’m just glad I was able to release all of the shame and pain that wasn’t mine in the first place.

This was gold, purified by the LORD through fire for sure! Praise God, He is so good. Thank you Jesus for The Basement. I've also had a background of sexual abuse and brokenness, and He's been working on me, but I had fallen off the wayside, but He's getting through to me thru new friends and mentors. And much of was said in this pod, and previous pods, was the Lord speaking straight to my heart. I needed to hear this. God bless you all!

Tim, I am a big fan of your shows and I have been following you since early last year. I appreciate all that you have been doing and the truth you speak, but more importantly, how you have been leading and guiding people to Christ. My name is Isaac Davis, I live in San Diego, and I am the same age as you. I know you have heard and talked about people's different journys, and I hope to one day tell you about it because I think my story is unique. If you are ever in the San Diego area, it would be a pleasure to meet you and hang out and just chop it up. I think it would be a great time. Blessings to you and your family!

That was awesome! Yeah, but did you notice that it was also Heretical? Jesus did not dies AS ME.. There is not a verse that can support such heresy. He died as a Substitute as a Sacrificial Lamb in the Place of, not AS OF. If he did AS me then that means he is like me, a sinner. BLASPHEMY
@msjamesesq
@msjamesesq 5 ай бұрын
@@boomerfxvideo I see your point, but I would argue that 2 Coe 5:21 says exactly that. He who knew no sin BECAME SIN for us so the ww might become the righteous of God. Yes He was a substitute, but He took on all the sins of the world and paid the penalty. I am still working through it, though. Thank you for this comment because I want to look further into the statement. Not trying to promote heresy.
@boomerfxvideo
@boomerfxvideo 5 ай бұрын
@@msjamesesq Herein lies the problem. Many misunderstand this verse and actually teach a heretical view. Jesus did not become sin. He was sinless. This language translated from Greek is stating that Jesus was treated as if he were a sinner. This is forensic language where God imputes or counts our sins to Christ's account and in return imputes Christ's righteousness to our account. Strangely, Chris Durso states that Jesus died AS ME, the only person that I was able to find who used this very strange unbiblical language was from the cult Seventh Day Adventism who denies Penal Substitutionary Atonement which is a heretical view of the Atonement. Jesus became a Sin Bearer, but he did not become a Sinner. There is huge difference and when it comes to orthodoxy we must be very careful when we try to come up with new language that the Bible never uses. We cannot find Jesus died "As Me" or "As Us" anywhere in Scripture because he did not. This is not a statement that was derived form a robust and deep theological study of God's Word but comes from the depraved minds of men. The who idea that Jesus died AS ME si to make Jesus just like me so that I can then find my healing or whatever I am looking for. It is very ME centered and lacks sound doctrine. This is the language of the new religion of Selfism where we are the main focus. The Bible was not even opened up during the whole video and expounded upon. There were many false unbiblical statements made like forgiving people who don't repent which the Bible clearly refutes. Matthew 18, Luke 17, 1 Cor 5, 2 Cor 4, all teach that we must withhold forgiveness from those who refuse to repent and only when the condition is met, are we commanded to forgive. That condition is repentance. We are to forgive others as God in Christ forgave us and God did that only when we repented. It cheapens the Gospel and actually preaches a heretical Universalist Gospel that all are forgiven. I am glad to hear that you are still working through this and examining it as we are called to "examine all things". But I would warn you that these men are. not Biblically sound and Chris Durso was removed from being a pastor of a church. Not a healthy church by any means, but still removed. There are better men to listen to . Voddie Baucham, John MacArthur, Steve Lawson.

I feel shame for being backslidden because I thought it would be a punishment to God for walking away from him and he told me a long time ago that if you disconnect from the body YOU will die as a member not the other way around... I realized how prideful and close minded I can be. I went and did a complete 180 and went from atheism to Christianity. I thought i was SOOOOO deep. smh. I would pride myself in how much I would be in the word (GENUINELY though) and this video is showing me in different ways I had an attitude of the Pharisees and why I didn't get blessed as soon as I expected to be just because I praise God louder than others or memorized ___ scripture versus having to look it up. I appreciate this channel and peoples vulnerability and I am learning what it takes to be a disciple and how immensely humbling it is to continue to try to sit at the feet of Jesus. I am really ashamed to have backslidden and I hope I can make it back to where I was being in church and more importantly being rooted in God.
